Hmmm. Well my most used strategy is simply moving a few capital ships next to a particular civ's starbases, and destroy them all at once, causes a huge drop in their mil rating. Then you trade a peace treaty for every technology/BC/planet they'll let you have. Rearm and repeat.

Lowest I've ever been in debt is 2100 Bc's. Most of my planets were unhappy, cept for the best 25+PQ one's. I didn't lose a single one to rebellion though, and I was still flipping other planets to join me. I managed to restructure my economy to reel in profits. Point is, debt is always such a bad thing, but you gotta try and turn it around as soon as you can.
I've had the 'shutting up' as well.. The sounds keep working fine, but the music stops, and I hear some small garbled music clicks. As as you've mentioned, the only way to get it back is too kill the game and restart. Currently using 1.04, but it was present in 1.03 as well. Hardware: AMD 1.53ghz. 386 MB DDR Radeon 9700 NP
hehehe Maybe that's the point? :)
Yeah I agree with you on that one.. Some kind of barely visible line indicating the direction of the ship when selected would be great.
Well I've been playing galciv for just over 2 weeks straight.. and lacking in serious sleep. Yesterday I was doing another game, on a medium sized map. Everything was going pretty well, after a while me and the torians had the russia/Usa thing going, I had 1/2 of the galaxy, and they had half. So I allied with them, to make it easy on myself. Also, i was playing with mecantile skills, placing emphasis on trade, so that's where i got 90% of my income from, 85% of which was from th
"I think it'd take a bit more than Aphrodisiacs and a couple of Battleships to break up that little partnership!" Exactly my point! ;) Well I've only played this game 3 times now, first two were without the 1.02 patch, last one with. I've played my fair share of 4x'ers... moo123, Se's.. And I also noticed that there's ussually 1 very powerful civ that sorta takes over. But like I mentioned before, thats the best realism your gonna get, I mean, look around you bro, ther
Hmm.. "Every single time, one dominant AI takes over while the others cower in their corners of the galaxy. Listen, I don't care if this AI is the precursor to Cyberdyne Systems. I care about balance." What you described there is essentially what earth will be/is like already. Hey, lets ask the UK to attack the USA, shall we? LOL
