Actually i have been using a 4GB flash drive as a ready boost for Vista since i got it some year or so ago and have found that it does actually work and does indeed speed up the prefetch speed. For me not such a useless tech, and a response such as yours is meaningless as you may as well have written 'Ham and Fries' due to your total lack of an argument into why you consider the tech to be useless to yourself.

One thing you will find from the outset that Stardock are great at giving us updates for the game (well they have been in the past) but they do tend to suck at getting web issues rectified. Be it a site issue or a MV one it can take days for them to rectify it.
Just checked now and it is still down [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Some very nice ideas there and a welcome to the game. Range has always been one of my bugbears as i always thought the range modules should have more of a meaning than they do. An initial setting of your current sector and those immediately surrounding them would have been a perfect start for myself. However seen as we have never been given the option to limit the initial range i, like others, have had to make do. Looking forwrd to playing with your mod as soon as RL allows me
I was wondering if there was any news on the next update as Demigod has now been released? Many thanks :D
I feel that the AI needs a few ships behind the front lines watching out for fast enemy transports. Sending wave after wave of attacking ships is all very fine and efficient, but if there's a possibility of losing planets then it's quite possible for the war machine to lose some essential components like money and production.
But that is one of the funniest parts of the game. Wait for the AI to throw ships at you and then bl

Fantastic! I managed to get the original thread unlocked so we will be using this one to keep you all updated again :D
To you maybe, but some may take offence to your attitiude. Anyhow enough distractions i think. Next AAR update should be ready tomorrow night GMT :D
Zyxpsilon i have sent you an email from the guide. :) Next update soon for those who are interested!
Welcome to the game on the other side of the curtain :D There are a few guides around that help new players out and give you an idea of what to expect from the game. If none of these really help you i would jump right in and try a small or tiny map with the default settings the game gives you. Using the standard Terran empire you should find the game easy enough if you set the difficulty to the lowest possible. Work up from there and dont jump into too high a level as y

Are you running the same resolution as the game is trying for? 1024x768 If you are not then go to the prefs.ini file in 'documents/my games/galciv2/your version' and either change the following to suit: - DisplayWidth=1024 (to your width) DisplayHeight=768 (to your height) ColorDepth=32 Fullscreen=1 (or set to 0 to enable reduced version) That may not be the issue you have but it is the most com
If you do not yet have Impulse loaded onto your system it is the best way to keep all your Stardock games up to date. Once loaded all you need to do is click on the games tab and then on your game, on the right hand side you will then see an options panel and you need to just click the update button. The link for impulse is on this site or simply click below. :) <img
A lot of changes were made in the expansions to ensure that graphics were rendered more easily and the entire game was altered so that it runs on a smaller footprint, therefore the newer expansions are no longer the resource hogging monsters that the original was. You may want to run the updates as some of the alterations were released in the updates and this may well assist the issue you are having. FYI Twilight of the Arnor is one of the smoothest games i have run and even w
I believe you need to start a new game to use the ships you design in the editor.
Seen as this thread holds a lot of tips a new player would find useful i hereby give it a large bump [e digicons]:digichet:[/e]
Hopefully it is different as the original one does not work in Vista [e digicons]:'([/e]
