This is the official thread for the Sins of the 13th Tribe mod.

Please note that it only works for Entrenchment v1.05

This is a total conversion mod, so the TEC, Advent, and Vasari are no longer playable

The Colonials and Cylons are now playable races

Known Bugs:

  • Some ships do not have names or are improperly named
  • Colonials still glow occasionally

v0.96 Changes

  • Entrenchment v1.05 compatability
  • Fixed String not found errors for the Galactica's colonize ability and the Worldstar's extra squadrons ability
  • Temporarily removed the custom static defense structures, so there will not be any more bug reports about the meshes reverting to the unmodded forms
  • The Cloud 9 is now correctly called the Cloud 9
  • New weapon sound effects for the Galactica+Mercury

Please, if you play this, report back here any balancing problems, particullarly in terms of research.

Umm.. no... I've gone back through all of the pages and the best I could find is -  

"I was actually thinking about that a while ago. The Cylon starbase will probably be either the colony or the reserection hub. Personally, I'm leaning towards the hub. The colony seems way too big. It could maybe work as a planet, but then the Galactica can't ram it..."

No definitive answer here... You're using the Resurrection Hub as the Cylon star base, which is clear (from the screenshots)... but you have not provided any information about whether you will use the Cylon colony in any way.

I'll be honest, I've given up hope on this mod. What reason is there to hold onto a mod that is in working order? When they release the patch you can fix it and release it again, in the meantime I can -not- update my game and all will be well. Most mods will probably break on day one of patch release so most mod users (I would hope) would be intelligent enough not to patch on day one.

This is just unnecessary and drama inducing for the fans of the mod. I truly appreciate the work you've done, but I don't think you're making the right choice here in holding the mod for a weak reason.

You actually went through all 50-some pages? I know I've said more about it than that. The Colony probably won't make an appearence, because I don't have a model for it.

Maybe I want to try the beta patch that's supposed to come out this week? Maybe you don't, but that's not my problem. I am doing this with my (limited) free time, and I don't see the point of releasing something that will be broken in a week or two, then have to update it again. I also want to get Koobalt's new Battlestar in. If that somehow causes "drama," then tough.

Kyogre12 - regarding the Cylon Colony, the Vasari Star Base looks ALOT like it (if you remove the bottom section of the Star Base - or leave it, still looks the same really). If you enlarge the size of the Vasari Star Base and use it as a planet type that will work well.

I think the distant stars mod (or another mod that I downloaded, cant remember) used the Unity star base as a planet type for GalaxyForge (they called it "The consciousness of the Unity"). I've got the mod on my computer - just can't remember which mod I downloaded. What do you think?

just a bit of info regards the beta, the only changes that I have found in the entity's are numerical, and either adding or removing abilities and the pirate ships/researches have a bit more of the same, but as ic had NOT had to release an update to entrenchment or sins this is about as much as they can do

Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. For the record, I can understand why Unikraken (and presumably others) are annoyed with me at this point. I said there would be a release... months ago, and that obviously didn't happen. I know that it sucks, but real life will always come first for me.

Some of you may remember that one of the reasons I've waited so long is to get two ships in the mod. I wanted them to be a surprise, but in the interest of full disclosure I'll just tell you now. The first was supposed to be a redone, lower poly Viper Mk II, that would hopefully alleviate some of the slowdown late game. Unfortunetly, it is looking less and less likely that it will ever be finished. The other ship is the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie is one of my favorite ships in BSG, and I am not happy with the current model/texture. The model has been done for a while, but the texture has been delayed (real life strikes again). However, I have been told that the texture should (hopefully) be done in the next couple weeks.

If I were to put the Colony in, I don't want it to be a lookalike. I would want the real thing. I've never really been a fan of the Colony's design anyway, and don't see much of a benefit of putting it in.

I wanted to play it safe, as there wasn't really any info given beforehand about what would be in the patch, besides the possibility of new memory improvements.

Kyogre I assume you want your own versions of the models for the mod but just so you know I downloaded the maelstrom mod for diplomacy a couple of weeks ago and it had several ships from Battlestar galactica including both the mk2 and mk7 vipers that both looked rather good, as well as larger ships such as the botanical cruiser and colonial one. On the Moddb page I seem to recall the creator of the mod stating that those particular models were created externally and that person allowed them to be used in other mods. If you like I can check for the name of the creator and you could just get those into the mod quickly and quietly.

1. To modify the mod you need to know what will change, since there is only beta version of patch, developer can add something or remove something from the final version of patch.

2. To give the mod to us Kyogre12 need to upload it, i don't know what connection he have, of course he can once upload the mod, and then upload only the "patch", but believe me, then there will be 100 post what/how/where the patch.

3. For some part you can blame me for delay i get creative vein and now kyogre12 need to hard point a big Battlestar  :cylon:

If I were crazy about other mods I would voice concern with them as well. You have every right to do with the mod as you please, however, you have a working version of the mod sitting there pretty much ready to go. We've been told a release would be forth coming since the end of last summer. I'm just a fan who has been stretched out. I sat patiently for 11 months. I don't think it would hurt you at all to upload the current version as a teaser or whatever. Might even drum up interest for the post-patch version.

If/whenever the mod comes out I'll likely be singing its praises everywhere. For now, I think the fans have waited a very long time. I hope enough has been updated to have made the wait worth it.

He doesn't want to release a version which may well be broken by the soon-to-be-released patch.  You've waited this long, and so have I, and I am sure we can wait until Stardock and Ironclad release the new patch and kyogre fixes anything they broke.

I'd rather just have it come out than worry about new ships.

Although I haven't really given that online thing much of a chance, are the ships in there super cool or something?

He's already made it clear he's running on his own time, I'm just curious about what we're going to see in the updated mod when he decides to release it.

Edit: I should probably clarify. I'm curious about what he's already planned to be in the final product. I'm not asking him to add more stuff. It would also be pretty cool to see some screenshots to hold us over.

At the moment, no. Lack of models is the biggest problem. I don't really like most of the new colonial ones anyway, although there are a couple interesting looking Cylons ones.

Edit: I should probably clarify. I'm curious about what he's already planned to be in the final product. I'm not asking him to add more stuff. It would also be pretty cool to see some screenshots to hold us over.

When the Valkyrie is all textured and whatnot I'll post screenshots. Screenshots of techtrees are far less interesting.

Is that the only ship that has been added since the last release? Have the other ships been textured? Have there been icons added for the various ships? Have there been any changes to the UI since the last update? Has there been any texture updates for the previously textured ships?

Are frigates and cruisers still set to fly like strike craft?
