Could you provide more info? You double click on the game and nothing happens at all?

To recap: Demigod's street date is tomorrow (4/14). But one retailer released it early which, in itself was problematic. Then, a couple days later, warez versions from the retail version started showing up on the net. Until release day, only the test servers are up. The result is that multiplayer is likely to be unbelievably slow (in terms of interacting with the Demigod UI). Now, had the street date had been adhered to, it wouldn't have been a problem (even with piracy) b
It wasn't "forgotten". The PDF manual is part of the 0-day update (as in tomorrow).
It will work but you will need to get the pre-0-day update. Then it will be slow to do anything because the servers are bogged down. But single player should work fine after the long delay when you first load up the game. If you wait until tomorrow, you'll be able to get the official 0-day update which will have access to private servers.
Load up Impulse, go to the games tab press the "register product" button and enter in your serial # and such.
Without hardware info it's hard to help. See the user manual for details on how to help yourself as well as what to provide in online to get the most effective help.
Demigod isn't associated with your account for some reason. Did you order it under a different email address by chance?
Have fun, Mothra! Glad you were able to get it to work!
Could that be why I'm getting constant freezes this morning? Every time I start up Demigod, I have to wait 30-60 seconds before the main screen will pop up, another 30-60 after I click multiplayer, another 30-60 after I click log in, etc etc. Sometimes it will just completely freeze and I have to close it with task manager. This only started this morning.
Yes. For the holiday, we only had enough ser
See the pinned topic. There are certain programs that can prevent Demigod from launching.
There is some poetic justice - pirates won't get the 0 day update which has not just the new online features (including LAN) but also day 0 has all those balance changes the beta testers requested. It plays significantly differently now (for the better).
If the game was released so early and so many apparent pre-orders, why is there hardly any custom games online? I think I saw one about 10 minutes ago. Could be because of school I suppose, but has it been like this?
Demigod isn't supposed to be released until tomorrow. Technically, nobody should be online.
My router is a D-link and it plays Demigod fine.
Right now we can only speculate what happened. And as unhappy as we are about the early release at Gamestop, I don't think it does anyone any good to assume malice on their part. We'll certainly find out exactly what happened next week when people are back from the holiday.
Check to see if you have the Logitech Quickcam installed. If so, unload the system tray item.
I'd take a close look at your LAN. In my experience what happens is one of the machines is losing packets on the LAN that is normally not noticed. The solution is usually to pull up the network card config and force it to whatever your LAN is (100mb, 1 gigabit, etc.). The auto detect on some cards isn't as good as one would expect.
You need to update from Impulse. Impulse was installed by the game so look for it in your Start menu.
Let me state for the record: We support LAN play with 1 serial # whether it be via digital distribution or CD version.
This is what making games is all about - hanging out with like minded people and making new friends! You guys rock!
Dont worry no one will get sued enough that GS shall have a grudge take off. And yes its a risk SD are willing to take, but the risk is literally non-existance. By not selling Stardock products because of the lawsuit they will just loose more money, which is not what Gamestop wants.
Let's be clear here, no one is going to be suing anyone. It doesn't work that way, especially since Gamestop's initial order was only a few thousand units, there just won't be that many peop
Thing was at my Gamestop they said they only got 3 copies... Since they said if no one preorders at the store, they still get shipped a few copies before hand anyways. Haven't seen anyone say that these store had shelves filled with 'em, most saying they only had a few copies. Maybe these stores didn't receive big packaging boxes, like I've seen places like Wal-Mart, etc, get on Tuesday mornings, that do have that HUGE sticker saying don't shelve til whatever date.

I assure you, Frog, that no such sticker was in place on your game. I was the one who processed the incoming shipment of Demigod at my store.
I don't know what to tell you then. I know how the boxes got shipped out. Heck, we got our boxes in too (on Thursday) and they all had the stickers on them. I also know that Gamestop asked to sell the game early and we said no and in response they cut their order by 2/3'rds. As for speculation, Avalon,
Yes. Uneven teams is by design. It looks at the rankings of the player. For instance, 1 player might be put against 3 "easy" AI. We've found that people have more fun playing against "the odds" even if the odds are technically even.
This is because the game is not street dated. Stardock scrwed up... not Gamestop or Base Exchange.
The packaging boxes that Demigod comes in has a big red sticker that says not to put it on sale until the 14th. In addition, Gamestop had asked prior if they could release the game earlier than street date and when we told them not they lowered their order in response.
They're pewter I believe.
