Just noticed that you do not get to research it right away...probably just a mistake then... :p

The option to research this was not given to me upon starting a new game. Both restarting the game via a save, and by restarting the entire program changed nothing....unfortunately without thinking I uninstalled it and am now reinstalling...But in case anyone else has noticed this?
Something basic...doesn't have to be as in depth or fancy..
The ten trade routes really help, although you are not supposed to be able to reach that because of the advanced trade bug... I think that taxation revenues need to be increased personally.
Use the limited diplomacy available :) I am often quite rich in my games, yet very poorly defended initially....often they have masses of battlecruisers while I have virtually nothing still...Try monitoring their status regarding you in the diplomacy screen, and if they are getting 'hostile' towards you, buy them off with about 100bc, which is good for 1 level up in relationships :) or even keep goin up till an informal alliance exists.
I agree....often more worthwhile scrapping the first colony ship and building a new one (with more colonists) from your first planet...
John, perhaps you can just continue asking for it, and remove it from the bottom submenu before asking? (Have not tried this) Or just remodify the amount you are asking for to zero?
Not sure about the above, but thought my thoughts were relevant to this. I noticed that you cannot really 'demand' anything...you can 'propose' a lot, and the aliens will just decline...but you cannot really enforce, threaten or demand anything that I have noticed, which really takes away from it all in my opinion. I enjoy playing the bully :)
Heh, my pop is always really low in the beginning, and only shoots up much later in the game when I let up on taxes :)
Higher class planets can house a higher population...all I have noticed really.
I have experienced this as well...a pain in the rear :notsure: I noticed it with Alliances, Star Democracy, Dreadnought Tech, Battleship Tech....quite a few really.
Looks better than I envisioned it. Obviously it is not quite so dependant on the roll as I had originally thought. Which is good :) I know luck plays a part in things, I just didn't want a huge factor of it :)
Are they all going to rely on the random ratio? I know there are other modifiers, but I truly do dislike the random aspect of it.
ahh ok, makes me feel better :) I thought I was missing some fundamental strategy here... phew :)
How DO they do that! I am getting my butt kicked much more easily on this version.
I like the idea of using shipyards to construct large ships...maybe Battleships and larger? Giving a bonus to building other ships would be nice as well.
This has happened to me as well, same problem, often I had to move the ship manually a few spaces, then it would respond to autopilot correctly.
Hmmm, actually, I restarted the save in which it happened, and it was magically fixed, and the ship was no longer there...sorry, I guess that means I have nothing to show, I will look for it again though.
The ship is indeed under the star...Sending you an email with the game and info.
Happened again in a different game.
Right clicking a destination initiates autopilot. Although there is the odd time the ship does not go anyhow :)
In a game that I started, a torian colony ship is either trapped, or just staying in the same slot as one of the torian empires planets. This makes it so my group of battlecruisers cannot attack the system, and all that I hear is a little deep sounding beep. The game also crashed a bit later, I have the game and log saved if needed.
Again, I do not know if this is planned, already in, but if so, I cannot find it... The ability to dismiss/disband/destruct useless ships, from both the mainscreen, and the fleet screen would be great.
Also, Galciv keeps crashing when I take over an enemy system...First time it has happened since I started playing, and it is repeatable. One thing i noticed while playing is that the research mods acquired from buildings did not seem to take any effect whatsoever...possibly I am missing something? Also some techs after unveiling the prerequisite took no time at all to get, perhaps this is only because they are not fully done, or the change is something that you take for granted and I am not fully informed.
