Why is a support General feasible but a General that is good at fighting 1vs1(with his minions.. duh. Apparently i have to mention this.) not?... I don't understand you people. :/ Need to remove the healers out of Dota, eh? They don't use minions!I think this comes down to people going to much into the name "Assassin" and "General" *sighs*They are just names Demigod choose to differentiate one using Minions and another being yo

What's the point of an assasin that only supports allies? Isn't that demigod better off being designed as a general? How is an assasin going to be good at killing buildings and not 1v1 (Said demigod would do added damage to buildings, but somehow do less damage to the rook, who is roughly made out of the same material)? With that said, this idea is actually pretty plausable. The "support only assasin" is not. Each demigod needs to be viable in a 1v1 game
How can you have an even playing field when the host gets X choices of demigods, the second player gets X-1 and the nth player get X-n? You can't call that an even playing field. I return to my main point: ranked play is to play your best with your best demigod, not your second best because someone happened to like the same design/have the same play style as you. Ranked isn't for each game feel different, it's to go out and win. At the same
Sorry, that first paragraph was sarcasm. My bad! [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
It could be an interesting game mode though. Something set before the game starts though. Then again, games may not go back and forth long enough for it to really matter.
You have to learn faster than the other guy that's the point of being competitive, by having unique heroes there's a little push to learn faster, competitive, by definition is "to strive to outdo another" if your not doing that your very competitive. If you don't want a competitive game go play custom, learn how to play with no pressure, then go back and be competitive. How do you account for said option having no affect on top players while hurting those below them? "Forcing" people to get better isn't a benefit. For the sake of arguement, lets assume that you do need to play as all demigods to be truly good. So what? People should improve
^ I think the point that some of us are getting at is this: Consider your "general version" of furion -- without using forces of natures -- against your "assasin version" of furion. The general version should lose right cause it's technically an unfair fight. The general version USING forces of nature, would be more fair*. There seem to be many ideas in this thread, but this is the one I'm trying to drive home. Of course this is an ideal situati
I agree with Zyprezz, a category for each character so that way the devs don't have to sift through all the reports to find another on rook. Also it will be easier to see if the bug report was already listed for your character on that issue. I'm sure it won't be preferred if there are 30 reports of rook unable to hit ____ character. So the easier it is to see if the bug was reported, the less redundancy there will be.Also date is very importan
Two responses to that reason:First theres more to being top player by dominating with your one 'perfect guy', the top player needs to be able to beat an opponent with any combo (all 16 thousand of them with 12 unique heroes in 5v5), he needs to be able to take the opponents play style and turn it against them regardless of which hero he got. And what if that one hero he chooses evrey game (in your reasoning) is imbalanced (like sera anyone?) in a game where skill (should) matter(s) more t
^Agreed I don't even see how this is an arguement.
It's already been said many times that dota is only one of several inspirations for demigod.
Don´t like the idea of multiple demigod pick.If player a picks the rook, the rook is picked and no other can take it. Or do demigods have imba cell division? o.O
All balance issues aside, I still don't like the idea that someone took my favorite demigod just 'cause they beat me to the game. I'm fine with it as an option though.

Torchbearer is both undead and burned to a crisp. I don't think there's any blood left. And does the Queen of thorns bleed? When was the last time you picked a rose and had blood gushing out...not counting your own. :P
I'd have no problem with DLC things AZ. I mean if i didn't have to buy FA to play FA I wouldn't have, but they used a different system there as they only added some units and 1 faction.Company of Heroes and Opposing fronts is a good example though. People with the Original CoH can still play against people with OF, and vice versa, they just don't have access to content they've bought. As long as you get what you pay for it works out well, and with Impulse being the main launcher it's even
^ Wow, a forum regarding an unreleased game having baseless speculation!?!? WTF!!! Seriously, what are we supposed to do? People can only say "this game is gonna roxxors!!!one1one" so many time before it's just silly. I say we speculate until the game's released....or at least until the beta.
Hmmm....well, to take this out of hostile waters. This seems to confirm the "galactic wars" variant for demigod. For those who never got to play galactic wars for Total Annihilation, what it was was a metagame with X number of planets which represented a map. These planets were split between the arm and the core (the two sides) and each planet represented a map. So then players could play on contested planets (planets adjacent to the opposing side's planets), and through winning a certain nu
Yeah but that's the all encompassing off-topic forum, not demigod's off topic forum. What if I want to off-topic with people in The Demigod community, you see?
If it's off topic, how's it gonna relate to Demigod anyway?
I actually think it's a good idea. A bug is a bug and should be documented. Of course, it shouldn't be worth anything more than bragging rights, but a lot of the time, bragging rights are motivation enough. Besides, the idea that quality and quantity are mutually exclusive is grossly false. You're not going to know the "quality" of a bug until after you found it. The more searching you do, the more likely you're to find bugs, the more likely you are to find something significant.
You have the EXP killing blow thing wrong by the way. Its which TEAM gets the kill not the unit or player, if I as an enemy demigod can kill my own unit before the enemy can kill it then they shouldn't have gotten anything from it.
E) leads to real choices F) creates more diverse gameplay
I agree with this. @ Mooey: It seems that there will be plenty of single player options to get used to the available skills. And I doubt you will be able to "make it so eventually every demigod can do everything" because there will probably be a level cap and/or the game won't last long enough to get every skill. Even if you can eventually get every skill, you'd still have to make a ski
