Meh. It's really too far off for me to be excited. I'm not usually a big fan of mmo's, but this may be my first.

I prefer the ideas where the guard creeps have only limited commands, such as "guard me" and "attack target". Basically, your guard creeps should stay with you most of the time. They'd be stronger than portal creeps and should be upgradeable (or level up on their own) with basic stat increases. The guard creeps should have also some abilities that can be upgraded (perhaps when the demigod upgrades, they get an extra skill point specifically for their guard creeps' upg
So what's the downside of combining? It looks like everyone can just combine to get the best of what they want with no drawbacks. I'd rather have a system with some give and take. Just like how demigods are supposed (emphasis on supposed) to be specialized, so too should items. This way, you can make your demigod's strengths even stronger, or shore up it's weaknesses.
Damn you guys!!! I'm running out of money here!!! [e digicons]XO[/e] Anyway, I heard gothic 3 was good, but with bugs. Anyone else heard anything good/bad about this game?
Really, I think this whole "gamers Bill of Rights" thing is just silly. Don't get me wrong, I like Stardock as much as the next guy, but to me it just seems like a cheesy public relations stunt meant to showcase the buisness image that Stardock is trying to project, rather than actually accomplishing significant change.
If flag locking is so controversial, then just take it out. The only reason we're still discussing flag locking in place of strategy for capturing and holding a flag is because there is a flag locking item that is relatively inexpensive, long duration, and difficult to counter. I don't believe the focus of the game at any level should be on flag locking. The focus should be taking the other players base, with capturing flags a
I'd like a chat window as well. Otherwise I couldn't care less about what the loading screen looks like. It's fluff that I'll forget in 15 seconds.

Leveling is fine as it is. I've never played a game that I got past level 15. From the posts that I've read here, that seems to be the case for most others as well.
The beta will open up again when the second phase starts. I don't know when that will be though.

It probably won't but what if?
....ummmm....isn't this obvious? If your online service goes down while you're downloading, you.......stop downloading. You'd pretty much be screwed until you got back online unless you had a previous archive.<

Those kinds of things make me feel like I'm playing a glitzy spreadsheet instead of a game.
At the same time, it's VERY important to know what each item does. You can include a vibrant and rich backstory to every item in the game, but in the end if all it says is "increases X", that doesn't do you any good. Increases X by how
Nothing new, but a good read anyway.
Impulse doing it wouldn't be that great, to be honest. GPGnet stores replays but there are so many that finding good ones and discussing them is very difficult; it is easier to just post it at GR
LOL, shameless plug. :P Still I agree that there were too many replays to count on gpg.net. On the same token, how are GR's replays any better (wrt quality, not quantity)?
They know what they're talking about. It's definately not alpha (not enough bugs). But it's not a full game beta. It's basically an engine test beta.
I wonder what the SPORE haters damage control will be when the game passes 2mln, then 3 mlns or maybe even 4mln copies
Popularity doesn't equal quality. On the same note, being popular doesn't mean people will suddenly stop hating it.
On sort of a tangent: Anyone have any fallout 2 hints? I do know about the powered armor in the beginning, but I'd rather avoid getting it since it's more of a game breaker than valid game progression. Depends on how much time you want to spend. The merchant in the inn in Klamath usually sells leather armor (not the jacket). It's expensive, around $2000 depending on your barter, so to afford it you can
You can make different Dwarven Snipers in DotA also based on items, its not some original idea he came up with... In fact Sniper has some completely different builds, Scattershot + mana regen build for super efficient creep farming and the ability to spam assassinate, or a physical damage focused build (headshot + range + stats) with items like Buriza's, with assasinate used as a finishing move, etc.
Is this
Having had a chance to play fallout 2: Good-God this game is hard!!! Maybe I just built my character badly, but geez!! Every fight I'm in: 4-5 raiders! Equal to or stronger than me! Did I fail to pick up my superman undies in the beginning or something? I wasn't before, but now I'm kind of looking forward to fallout 3. I still don't appreciate the first person view (NWN2 > Oblivion), but at least I get to use some of my (limited) skill to make up f
It's actally not much of a choice unless the ring is somehow unique. Otherwise, you use the ring, then buy another. At which point you're just wasting time and adding complication. OTOH, if the ring is unique, then yeah, it's a valid idea, assuming you want unique items.
Well, my problem with the scaled leveling is that I COULDN'T find a challenge after a while. My gear was such that I could take anyone down in a couple of hits. While a lot of fun (I put over 100 hrs into it), I never actually finished the game. [e digicons]>_>[/e]
I think the bug is that you can't close the window once it's open. Not major, but still not intended behavior.
@Innociv's "Diablo 2" style skills: I can't really agree with this. If it's such simple math, then it's just a matter of the devs crunching numbers to make sure all skills balance out. You may lack synergy, but that doesn't make it cracked. Getting people to use certain skills is simply a matter of making sure the skills stay within a particular play style. For instance, if someone's playing as the rook, they're probably not in it for the speed upgrades
