Yesss ... Thanxxx a lot ! I was tired of being branded with my dad's nick (which was the previous Impulse Account name).

Yessss ... Thanxxx ! I had been whining & bitching about that since mid-March (beta). At last, I have my very own game name, and I'm not stuck with my 58-year-old dad's lame nick. ("CyberMage" : he read too many William Gibson novels!)
I can now report that it has been FIXED (at least for me). Since today (24 April), I am correctly identified by my Impulse Account nick : Sorceresss. The old nick, which was my dad's, has totally disappeared : from the lobby, from MP games, and from the rankings. Thanxxx a lot. It was an obsession of mine to have that corrected, as I have posted about it on a few threads, for the past 4 weeks -- to the annoyance, I am certain, of <stro
Sorceress, the stats are inaccurate for the moment, but we are trying to fix that. Soon enough the ranks will be a good representation of a player's a skill. Actually, I think showing the "Experience" number would be far more helpful. Seeing someone with 400 experience versus someone with 1200 experience should tell you right away how good that player is. Bara
OK, then : thanxxx. <
I agree with your principle (2nd half of the quote). At the moment, I win too easily against newbies, and I get "gang-raped" by teams of quasi-pro guys who know each other and coordinate efficiently against teams of average players (who do not know each other). I don't mind losing and learning (and I never quit), but
Being a dumb-blonde, French Literature student, there's some technical stuff in his OP that I do not seem to understand. After having read other posts on SimSpeed, there are 2 basic things I remember from other forum users : 1. Any SS number above 0 is fine ; 2. When you're in a MP game, the game will run at the pace of the computer with the lowest SS number. If statement 2 is correct, I then do not understand what the OP is implying. For
Same as Reply #4. I changed our family's Impulse Account Name in mid-March (beta) from my dad's nick to my own. Since then, I log in as Sorceresss (that part works) ... but then, the game programme stubbornly tells me that I logged in as CyberMage (which is FALSE), and identifies me during a MP game as CyberMage. There's an obvious paradox between having successfully logged in as S and then being told that you've logged in as CM. That I could live with. My
Dear kryo, This issue still has not been resolved. (I'm still identified by the old Impulse Account nick of 5 weeks ago, even though I log-in with the more recent nick. I successfully log-in as Sorceresss ... and then the game states that I am logged-in as CyberMage!)

3½ days later, with the topic falling down in the list : no official reply ! I wonder why nobody from Stardock cares to reply : seems to me it is a legitimate complaint. Why can I log-in with the new Impulse Account's Name ... and then the lobby and the game tell me that I'm logged-in with an old Impulse nick ?! Can't the Stardock server stop contradicting itself ? I created a new in-game profile before logging ... and I still got mis-identified with my dad's nickname. I could delete my dad's profile ... but then, I would have to pay rent at another place. [DG log-on-name bug ?] I live with my dad. I don't want to use his Impulse Account nickname to log-on to DG when I want to play. So, I changed the Impulse nick (in the Community section of Impulse) to mine : Sorceresss. When I log-on to DG/Internet, "Sorceresss" is now accepted as the log-on nick to enter the lobby (which is OK, since it's the new Impulse nick associated to the Account's e-mail address) ... but it is then my dad's nick that appears :

In your Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East installation folder, be sure to create a folder named Maps (next to the Music folder) : all downloaded maps that are not campaigns must be placed there to show up in the "show multiplayer maps" list, in the scenario selection screen. The Maps folder might not have been created when installing the game : create it yourself. If you use the HM&a
I would buy Heroes of Might & Magic V : Tribes of the East (released in October 2007). It is a stand-alone expansion which has a lot of content and bug fixes (in relation to the May 2006 release of the original H5). Last August, it was patched to version 3.1. Caveat emptor # 1 > The multiplayer still is so unstable & slow that it rarely works for a long time. Caveat emptor # 2 > It's not guaranteed to function on a lap
What is forum "trolling" anyway ? In my experience, on half a dozen gaming forums, the negative label "troll" is too often cast by people who disagree with another poster's ideas or style of presentation of his ideas. Also, you can be branded a "troll" if you go off-topic on a thread ... but that is such a frequent habit, even done by venerable forum veterans, that you only risk being then called a "troll" if your style of going off-topic is not appr

I found it borrrrring, compared to Heroes of Might & Magic 5 , or the recent King's Bounty : The Legend . The "tactical model" is rather simplistic. But as a « [e digicons][/e] & pretzel » game, I guess it's OK.
I entertain exxxtremely high hopes ! If StarDock invests as much time & effort refining its A.I. code as it did for GalCiv 1 & GalCiv 2, we're in for a major challenge. StarDock is all about top-quality A.I. The crucial problem with HM&M 5, even in i
