I am apart. Always I have seen around me all the games and parades of life and have always envied the players and the marchers. I watch the cards they play and feel in my belly the hollowness as the big drums go by, and I smile and shrug and say, Who needs games? Who wants parades? The world seems to be masses of smiling people who hug each other and sway back and forth in front of a fire and sing old songs and laugh into each others faces, and truth and trust. And I kneel at the edge of the

Wow. That's pretty brutal. As ye sow, so shall ye reap. So.....
I wish that from now on, all games have the same quality as ET for the Atari had
You get your wish. Unfortunately for you, your personal information is published along with the nerf. Every psychotic gamer that you have ever crossed paths with shows up at your door. They drag you out of your house, strip you naked, and string you up by the thumbs from the nearest tree. You are forced to eat your own

The cream rises. I predict the Red Wings over the Penguins in six.
Is there some tactful way of telling your teammates that you would rather they park their butts by the crystal rather than go on feeding kills to the opposition?
Rather than looking for some clever way to tell your teammates that they suck, shouldn't you be looking for a way to help them? It is in all of our interests to train as large a pool of quality players as we can. This will make for much better gaming down the line. There are ways to nudge new pl

Excellent. I eat this stuff up. I made many maps in GalCiv, but they were pretty over the top type things. This I could work with. I'm already thinking about recreating actual terrain maps. Take a piece of the Rocky Mountains, for example. Abundant mineral resources, food hard to come by, and small mountain passes to fight through. Or the great plains; abundant food, scarcer minerals, and wide open, with little or no natural defenses. I could map the Everglades, or the American southw
I am waiting for Elemental and then Diablo three
Ditto. In that order. D3 is looking pretty polished at this point, so it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it was released in time for the holiday buying season. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it wasn't... What if both games were released in time for the season? Blizzard would have a virtual lock on sales. Talk about cornering the market.
This thread is hilarious. I especially like the 'ain't affraid of no ghosts' pic. It makes him look like Jack Benny with a proton pack. [e digicons][/e]
Thank you all for taking the time to respond. I had pretty much made up my mind before I started this thread, but getting the thumbs up from other members of the Stardock family is comforting. I tend to put more weight behind your opinions than those of the general public. @LightStar: I visited your website for the first time; very nice. I'll check back from time to time to see what you do with Win7. If anyone else is reading this post, please feel free to chime in, as I will
Shame that. The functionallity is there, it just isn't represented in the UI.
Yes, I understand about the /skipintro thing. I just thought that there would be a checkbox on the options screen that would allow us to skip them.
I thought that there was to be an option to skip all of these in the last patch. I've played a few games since, but I am so used to clicking through them that I have forgotten to check and see if the option is there.
Congrats LightStar. That is one sweet rig. I understand that you are using Win7RC as your primary OS. Any issues?
This is indeed Cirque du Soleil, filmed during their Quidam tour. They are a French Canadian circus troupe that uses no animals, and yeah, pretty much all of their stuff is like that. I've seen them live a couple of times, and they are quite entertaining, especially if one is in, let's say, an 'altered state'. [e digicons];)[/e]
Thanks for keeping us updated, and try not to let the trollettes get you down. I am one of those who are having the connectivity issues, but I am adult enough to realize that pissing and moaning about it won't do anyone any good. I doubt that very few, if any of the whiners have the basic smarts to even begin to understand the enourmous complexity of what you are attempting to do. Know that the overwhelming majority of players understand, to one degree or another, the task you are fac
The easiest way is to try to respawn them.
Um, Erubus isn't all that OP, he's actually rather easy to kill...
QFT. Erebus is hands down the weakest character in the game. The only time I pay any attention to him at all is when he is trying to cap one of my flags and I have to go and chase him off. I don't play exclusively as any one Demigod. I like to cycle through the different characters and builds, and I have never come remotely close to being killed by an Erebus in any game that I have played. His 'Bite' was
I had to remove Google Earth from my system awhile back, (Didn't play well with a couple of my proggies) but I must concur with Samurye. I believe this to be Bikini. The runway is clearly visible, but has been abandoned for long enough for palm trees to reach maturity. There are other clues also; like the obvious clearing of the beach for settlement, and subsequent abandonment and regrowth showing now. There is also the encroachment of trees into the large lawn/park area, as well as t
Would you rather the developers come up with better minion AI so you don't have to micro-manage them?
Well, the minion AI as it stands is simple: Detect and attack the nearest enemy target. This be quite frustrating when I am capping a flag, and half of my army decides on it's own to attack a tower, with obvious results. One thing you can do is to buy the first citadel upgrade in that line ASAP. Cap and hold their goldmine flag(s). This is tough, but if you can do it, you'll win the game.
