Yep. Setting up a LAN isn't like setting up cable tv. Digital has to be replicated, not split. This is part of what a router does. The main cable line coming into your house will be connected to your modem. The modem will be connected to a router. The router will then connect to all of your applicable components; some via direct wiring, some wirelessly. It is easier/cheaper to connect wirelessly (no cables to buy/run), but one or more components may have to be directly connected

Hello kBessa. Here are a few thing you can try. 1) Rename the folder. You could use Configuracoes locais, without the accents, or perhaps the English: 'local setting's. If there are any problems with your other programs, then simply rename it back to the original, and you should be fine. 2) Create a new folder in kBessa, named 'local settings'. The game may use this folder, and pass it through to the next. Again, if there are any probs, delete it. You can
Bravo. This is an accolade that is long overdue. Thank you Stardock for all of the countless hours of hard work that you have spent honing this masterpiece. I have spent a fair amout of money over the years on games, and I consider what I have spent on yours perhaps my best investment. I have derived more enjoyment from the sweat of your collective brows than from any other company, and for this, I thank you. As long as you continue to develop from the gamer's point of view, you will
I'm with Trig on this one. We should be able to stash any potion/scroll/whatever we find, and use it at the time of our choosing. I love Tyo's poisoned potions. I don't remember seeing this in any other game. If they are to be included though, they shouldn't always be poison. There should be a relatively small percentage chance that they are tainted. Anything other than this will preclude players from picking them up at all.
Have a little patience folks. When you are dealing with a totally new product, delays are bound to happen. Stardock will not release a title at any stage until they are confident that it is ready to go. They have polled their customer base on this subject in the past, and each time the public has voted OVERWHELMINGLY to delay release in order to have more features ready, and to give time for further polishing and or balancing. The people who ask for an earlier release are usually the
but in beta 1 can't u play comp players or am i just imagining this.
Sure you can. You can host a LAN game. Choose the map and the number of opponents, and go.
If you have an Internet connection, you're almost better off playing on-line because you can play on the Internet against AI players.
Will you expand on this a bit? If I play SP, then I will obviously be playing against AI players. What is the advantage of playing against them online? Also, would I be able to control the speed of the game in SP online?
These photos were most certainly not staged. This was a spontaneous celebration of hope and life, by those who haven't been taught the politics of hatred and prejudice. I *suppose* that you could call the last photo 'staged', in the same way that you would 'stage' a photo of a family picnic when you ask Aunt Millie to put down the potato salad for a moment and smile for the camera. Look at the faces in the crowd. There are whites, blacks, hispanics, and Muslims. You wouldn't see this
Fallout 3 only requires the disk
Sweet. I'm down with the disk. Combine this with Stardock's one time registration, and updates through Impulse, and we may have something that could work.
Mistralok, from what I understand the Creature Creator also had the same SecuROM DRM on it, so it's likely that's where you first picked it up. As for removing it, here's some instructions I found (from the BioShock forums):
Yep. The insidious part of this is the fact that the *free* version did not have it. Since the free version didn't have it, I assumed the full $10 version would not also. Silly me. @Annatar11: Thanks for pointing this out to me. I'll try it
can anyone with a ZS2 disable it and post back? [/quote Disabled it in the Device Manager and started the game with no sound at all; insignificant changes in framerate or simspeed.
EDIT: Reply sent to more appropriate category.
removed securom from my system (i hope)
Sometimes hope can be fleeting. There is an extraordinary number of hoops to jump through to fully remove it. (And even then one can't be completely sure). I got reamed by the Creature Creator. I have cleaned most of the schmutz out, but there are still a couple of locked reg entries that I have yet to remove. I will never again spend so much as a single penny on any product related to EA or Sony. Impulse is most certainly
are you sure of this?
No, there is no way that I can be absolutely sure without the proper testbed. But when I zoom into myself in an empty part of the arena, then zoom out to a busy (graphically) part, and the numbers don't change, that tells me that something is going on that, to my mind, shouldn't be. Again, this is simply anecdotal evidence, and it may very well be because of my particular setup. Just to chime in about simspeed, mine tends to hover at betwee
IIRC, his name is Marvin. He used to cut my grass. He was a very nice boy.
Card name: Radeon X1650 Series
It's NOT the card. The 1650 is analogous to the nVidia 7600 series, which by any and all accounts runs this game just fine. The problem is the allocation of resourses. There is too much extraneous crap going on. For one, the backgrounds should be static. Once the game begins, you can't even see the waterfalls or lava, yet they are still there, using up cycles. There are other examples also, such as the Torchbearer's cold a
I was really hoping that this game would play on my machine. I decided to wait until the second beta to make my report. I have an older, single core machine. It plays CoH and CoD at acceptable levels, but Demigod is unplayable. The framerates are abysmal, from 7-8, dropping to 1-2. I think that this has more to do with the proc requirements than the video. I say this because the proc is pegged at 100% from the very beginning. The Stardock/GPG splash page is slow and cho
Hello Mumble. I'm here on Demigod also. I have always admired your diligence and attention to detail, but 519 forums? I certainly hope that you remembered to leave a trail of string in order to find your way out of this maze. [e digicons][/e]
Thanks guys. This is what I thought, but it's nice to hear someone else say it. Nothing to do really but try it out for myself. I look forward to meeting you on the battlefield. :)
I'm on satellite. I have decent speed, but there is a slight lag (~.5 sec). In a fps twitch fest, this could be enough to get me fragged. Will Demigod be more forgiving?
We haven't given any specs yet, but as some others have commented it should be less demanding than SC due to engine optimizations, etc. I'm sure some people on the lower end of the spectrum will be in the beta soon and they can give feedback on how it runs for them.
Thanks, Kryo. I have decided that I will be one of those 'people'. Better performance=larger audience=better sales. (Sorry for the curt reply, palsey's acting up again.)
Thanks for the reply, AZ. I haven't played SupCom, (can't play 'em all) but I checked the Wiki, and my system meets or exceeds the recommendations for that game. AMD 3200+ Barton, 2G ram, ATI1650. I have every expectation that this game will be more efficient, especially since Frogboy has been involved in it, but I would like someone 'in the know' to confirm.
I saw the trailer, and it looks great. I'm chomping at the bit to get into the beta, but I'm concerned that my rig won't be able to handle it. Can you please post the specs for us? Thanks.
