Yes, but the map as a whole belongs to DotA's developers and their community, the hours they've spent making, designing it, bug testing it, playing it, it's theirs not some conglomerate's who didn't even bother putting a clause in the license agreement. (Remember I'm arguing the fact that it DOESN'T belong to blizzard, not that it does belongs to Icefrog)

On the point of other life on planets, my only hope is that we don't just nuke them out of existence and then take take the planet for our own, a lot of good books are on these subjects. In one a space ship discovers a rare type race, but they are exceptionally brutal because of the current empire, do they kill them? do they rescue a few and kill the rest? or do they let them live and hope they don't come knocking a couple thousand years later? (of course the book ends up with the human

Blizzards license agreement on the editor(all mentions, not the entire thing):
The Program also contains a 'World Editor' (the "Editor") that allows you to create custom levels or other materials for your personal use in connection with the Program ("New Materials"). All use of the Editor or any New Materials is subject to this License Agreement

2. Ownership. By the way an analogy for DotA players: Every hero in DotA is an assassin type hero (some blur the lines a little), look at the diversity there. Now add another type of hero: even more diversity. DotA is less diverse than demigod (though it may take awhile to get there, but it has the potential)

Blizzard doesn't technically own DotA, the intellectual rights of the code, fluff, and new game play concepts belong to ice frog, or one of the other developers. But the map itself is blizzards technology so they technically own the technology, but DotA as a game is a third party mod owned by it's developers and community. Also how do you know what the triggers of their newest versions look like? Either: A) you're talking about an out dated version (about 2 years or so) b)

Never will I let you be on my team. Never... I can just see TBO hiding behind the castle the entire game buying creeps... >. As an assassin... (thats a tongue twister)
You can level up all the skills but only use 4 at a time then? I'm kind of confused there. Why not just have a bar of all the skills going down the middle when there is so few, and not have a whole separate window you open? Guess I have to see it.
I think what your missing is the fact passives and synergy 'skills' aren't on this bar. For example a passive poison ability for unclean beast wouldn't be on it. Or a synergy skill for torch bearer that increase

Well it comes down to the fact that the basic units have to be able to kill assassins (and generals), but an assassin has to be able to 'die' 1. Assassin hands down, what's a general with out an army? 2. Prolly general since their army will be better (can they even get units?) 3a. The ability to influence multiple parts of the map at once, advanced tactics by your self (i.e. pincer) 3b. Split forces, micro 4a. Only need to select one thing, power focused at one

Skill selection, item/unit buying, menu? P.S. thanks for the info, and how do you 'unlock' a demigod? campaign? P.S. 2.0 the fact one can unlock demigods seems to imply there are going to be quite a few, can you give us any estimates?

This is great news, in that it also confirms the fact that maps may have custom game play effects in them (something I was very much hoping for) So again, THANK YOU!

Question, can we play LAN with friends (cause I have some friends who are iffy about the game) This option would allow for more systems to be tested (10 people trying it, as opposed to one) and would be free advertising, it should be simple to create a spawn version that you allow beta key members to install on many computers that can only join games of full key members... though actually that could be open for abuse....

As far as we know: The permanent leveling demigod scheme will be an optional thing for custom games, where as (supposedly) in ranked games everyone will start on an equal playing field, as well as in most custom games. In this thread I believe we are talking about the per game skills.

Or the fact that each demigod has a completely unique selection of skills mean that each skill has a diffrent max level, for diffrent demigods. (depending on Tyo's breakfast of course)

Again your math makes it clear: 4 active (while non-immolated) + the ability to immolate = 5!

Well look at Stardock they're last games have been amazingly easy to install, hell I'll even admit that the first time I played sins it was with a cracked copy (if you can call passing the CD around cracked) But then I'm like I want to play on line! which means buying the game (which I did) Stardock is a company which, I believe, is adapting to new trends and so are making it much easier to crack their products but at the same time if you want to do anything besides play by yourself or with budd

YAY! for more info! 83.33% is pretty good at max level 25 thats 30 skills, that sounds like very good number and I am happy! On the point of brain hurting: YAY! I made a developers brain hurt!!! wait a second... they need that organ... Sorry Tyo I didn't bruise it did I? What I was trying to say is: You can have 4 (I'm assuming activate-able) skills on your bar at once. You said TB has 4 non immolated and 3 immolated wheres the other 1 come in? (or 3 for that m

YAY! for more Tyo info! Anyways, while not what I was hoping for, I must say that I'm perfectly fine with it as long as it isn't too much variation (I don't like the idea of one demigod able to be any role it wants). That and I have confidence in GPG and Tyo. Would you mind telling us though is it split into trees or is it one tree?

I could of sworn that the rook had less polygons than tiny (my eyes must begetting bad) >.> Ahem, again YAY! for Tyo releasing info. It's good to know that your taking suggestions allready, and that there will be fog of war, as while there have been some quotes that there will be, It's good to have more detail (unique to the map, ohhh fancy :)) Edit: Thank you again!

(DARN YOU AGAIN WORK!!) Ahem, on the point of this currency, yes it exists, but it could be some form of godly mystical ectoplasm as it could gold or a form of money, but we're pretty sure its used to buy things. Now on the point of the healer getting behind because they don't have enough money/gold/ectoplasm, what if this balanced in? In the fact that each hero has their own shops? Whats to say sednas items/units don't cost less money/gold/ectoplasm? But the idea syst

God I hate work, I missed a lot of this debating. Again, in regards to flexibility of a demigod, that will come from: A) Playstyle B) Order of skill leveling C) Items Early on the order you choose your skills will differentiate you from your opponent, later your items will, and both these decisions will affect your playstyle and vice versa. You don't NEED skill choices (by which I mean permanent choices) to make two Demigods be able to have t

I would much rather that you choose the order in which you get them, and be able to max all of them, I think this is where we disagree and we'll just leave it at that?
