Demigod.exe: 1 byte (pointer to location in memory of Demigod-game.exe) Demigod-game.exe: (game executable, moved to system memory at startup by Demigod-service.exe) Demigod-service.exe: (service: starts with system, checks to see if Demigod.exe is running; if Demigod.exe is running, runs Demigod-game.exe) It's an airtight architecture.

On the one hand, I trust GPG and Stardock to balance well. On the other hand, if you go too far with synergy you get Guild Wars Syndrome, where team composition becomes much more important than individual skill, and that's not desirable.
FoePa: what does the debug exe say income is for Unfair AIs? If it's 20 at game start, you've proved your point. On the other hand, it's possible that the income rate is modified after it's rendered to the debug boxes--sounds silly at first, but on the other hand, income rates happened well after release, and I can see developers forgetting to update at which point the debug information is output. Hard-AI-gets-bonuses people: why do you trust in the endgame charts so blindly? If the sce
Stardock tends to cooperate closely with developers--I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the nicer things from GPGNet working their way into Impulse.
Autocasting, too, I don't see a problem with, as long as it's a toggle. If an ability on autocast is more useful with a computer slinging it around than it is when a player is deciding when and where to use it, it's something the player shouldn't have to be doing in the first place.
Idea(purely speculation) I don't know how spells will work in the game and i'm praying it'll require skill to use, but basically what it boils down to is Limit auto targetting of offensive skills/spells. Like i said i don't know how the game functions(yet) but being able to auto target some things greatly reduces the skill gap between pro/great/good/new player.
This is ridiculous. On the one hand, the ability to manage your abilities/units well is part of what makes talen
You are a far more trusting person than I. It took the trailer to get my money. :P
Audacity and a cable from line out to line in. >.>
Sounds like fun. A few weeks to go until beta! Although it strikes me that it's very likely that I'll be on vacation in North Carolina at right about the time when the beta comes out. Curses.
It's been discussed before, and unless there's been a major shift in the opinions of the developers, it's staying the way it is. The justification is that it allows a bit more competition even if you lag behind on fleet size research, because you can rebuild faster. The lore justification is that ship upgrade costs are negligible--it's the military bureaucracy you're building that costs more.
Are there chat messages from the other players at the top of the screen during the battles? That caused problems in the past. It still does, for me, actually. OTherwise, I dunno.
That would be a sweet living room centerpiece.
On the other hand, Stardock as a publisher (granted, Stardock as a publisher is really only Sins thus far) has a pretty good reputation for encouraging post-release patching.
Has potential. Allow me to be the first to make a Rook pun.
I look forward to picking my jaw up off the floor at many of the future levels. Don't wait too long to release your tidbits. They grow weak in captivity--only in the wild will they flourish.
Download Demigod via Impulse on your laptop. Right click on it and archive it. Get the Impulse installer and the Demigod archive and move them to your other computer. Install Impulse, un-archive Demigod.
With my computer it'll end up looking like Starcraft, but that's life. It would be a lot better if I could find the cash for an HD4850 at the end of the summer. I'd be set, then.
Aha! My master plan (ref. reply #9 in this thread) is working already!
If you need a picture, you're spoiled. Now get off my lawn!
TM still needs to be beveled Oh, and you need better emotes. These are meh, to be honest :/
Emotes are unnecessary newfangled technogunk. Plain text should be good enough for anyone.
Pssh. IL-2 with all the realism settings on is what I do when I want a quick, light bout of gaming. Subsims are where it's at. All of the good flight sims I've heard of have been mentioned already, but I'll recommend a pair of space sims: Babylon 5: I've Found Her - freeware, but very good nonetheless. X-Wing Alliance - the latest entry in the storied X-Wing/TIE Fighter series, with a wonderful campaign and a group of modders giving it a graphical update at www.xwaupgrade.com.<b
It's fine exactly the way it is. With posts like these I'll establish myself as a vehemently anti-change member of the community, allowing me to choose my battles carefully and making my opinion seem much more important when a change is warranted. Oops, did I say that all out loud?
I expect what'll happen is that they'll send you an e-mail with the game key, which you'll then register in Impulse.
A general of some kind for me. We'll see once I actually play some.
I'm in now too.
