It'll be different for other software firewalls on other pc's and/or routers etc. Put it this way, anything that resembles a "firewall" / "filter" in any way should be turned off on one's PC and/or any NAT-device (router) between your PC and the internet while troubleshooting Demigod connection issues.

missing a .dll? check the "extended info" when you get the message about it having stopped working and look for a .dll name.

@ Sythion, in answer to...
also don't understand why this NAT bs is so damn crappy. It's not like it's the first system to use p2p, so why doesn't it work when the other ones do?
The issue is. In other games using P2P netcode the user HAD to forward all game-traffic through any routers (NAT-devices) in the way or he/she couldn't play. Stardock's NAT-T type netcode was supposed to
@ themoth, First, let me say what a well worded/structured post your OP is. Especially since anyone can see the troublehooting steps you've taken and your attention to detail with regard to explaining the steps you've taken when I'm sure this is extremely frustrating is nice to see on these forums (VERY MUCH appreciated btw by everyone wanting to help you further! :) ). Now for the "helping further" part.....
here's what I CANNOT
LightningAce, In order to keep the patching system streamlined, the DEVS use a system where once installed by Impulse, everytime your game is updated only those changes are made that need to be made (specific to your actual installation). This allows for keeping everyone current and allows for rapid and centralized deployment of patch material. Did you try un-installing Impulse and using the latest FULL setup build for Impulse to re-install? <a title="Impulse-cli
I agree that one of the paramount issues here, is a new way to handle the server-list. No auto-refresh, and the issue of the list de-sync'ing would go a long way towards improving at least the custom games part of this great game. I"m sure I'll be called a "fan-boi" but I have total confidence in the DEVS to give us that and many more non-connection related improvements. That's what you get when a dev-team treats their customer

Tried a full un-install and re-install? That's what I had to do. Impulse didn't even let me update my BETA version... What about deleting the "perfs" file from the BETA?
@ Javaslinger, Do you know if your cable modem might also be performing NAT? For instance...you may have placed your PC's IP into the DMZ on your router (thereby opening all traffic to your PC from the router) but if your modem is also set to perfom NAT instead of simply being a "pass-through" then all you've achieved is to allow all traffic from your router to your PC, but it's not even getting to the router because it's being blocked at t
@ Hettikus and anyone else who has done what he has... I believe the servers have been having some issues (regarding the NAT-Facilitator error message), and I'm not sure if they've been worked out. SD have been adding more and more servers to handle the login/gamesetup load and we were told there will be more changes in the coming days. If you believe your network is now correctly setup, please be patient. Tomorrow when everyone

Some people are (without even knowing it) in a double-NAT scenario (see my guide linked-to in the OP of the "Solving Connectivity Issues" sticky by Frogboy) If a person is in fact in a double-NAT scenario (where their cable/dsl modem AND the router behind it are BOTH performing NAT) then they will have to do one of two things: 1. Place the WAN IP of the router into the DMZ of the cable/dsl modem and then forward the specified ports from the
Annekynn, That could be due in part to the fact that the MLPPP firmware might be emulating similar behaviour to Stardock's NAT-T technology? This would of course create a -1 +1 = 0 type of scenario where things are actually canceling one another out! Hence why things work with that option enabled in other games....but not in Demigod? Just a thought.... the Monk
Major solution to connectivity problems found: MLPPP. If you use a Linksys router or any other with Tomato/MLPPP firmware to get around P2P throttling from your ISP you will not be able to connect to multiplayer games if MLPPP is turned on. You need to set it to off and reconnect your router. This is an odd problem since ive played dozens of multiplayer games over MLPPP just fine so not sure why it would be a problem but it somehow is for this par
