SO, when will it start?
"When it's ready." ;)
So everybody influences it all?
Absolutely! As Tim mentioned, we do white boxing before we do any of the hard lifting. When we go to create a Demigod, I pull up our "List of candidates", which is a document that any team member can enter ideas into, and select the best candidates. From there the team sits down and spitballs ideas to flesh out the character. Based on that meeting, art spearheads some initial concepts while design draws up an ability list. After that we mee
Once it leaves the hands of the Artist all they can do is hope, and like the player - hope for something really fun and enjoyable.
Quite the contrary. The character artists on Demigod are fully involved with Design and Animation every step of the way. The departments collaborate to an insane degree to make sure the art, animation, design and balance all "gel" to ensure that each Demigod reaches its full potential. We're not a "throw it over the fence" style team.
To confirm- you cannot control portal spawns.
Mike "Tyo" Marr Demigod Lead Designer
I agree. When do we get more?
One of the earliest opportunities to see more of Demigod will be at Penny Arcade Expo, we'll be offering chances for the public to sit down and play Demigod.
Mike "Tyo" Marr Demigod Lead Designer
Animators are obviously underappreciated as it seems dev teams just hire them at random or hire the one that'll work for cheapest. It's so rare to see such amazing animations.
Not at Gas Powered Games they aren't! We love our animators. Love them so very, very much. Except for when Aung's playing Regulus and has me in his crossbow sights. Then all bets are off.
Mike "Tyo" Marr Demigod Lead Designer
RE: Concerns about our rating. We'll be doing what's required to get a T rating. I think I might break something if people weren't able to play Demigod because their parents wouldn't let them buy the game. - Mike "Tyo" Marr Demigod Lead Designer
Finally, a quick question. 2 actually, How many Demigods are ready for Beta? How many Demigods are projected for final Release?
Ready for Beta is a funny question. All of our Demigods are playable, however many of them are much further into their polish pass than others. The Demigods the furthest along are Regulus, Torchbearer, Unclean Beast and the Rook. As for the number of Demigods projected for release, I can neither confirm or deny any particular num
Scathis said back in June that he'd be in the beta, I wonder if he still will now that he isn't with GPG anymore
He's in the Beta :)
Thanks Phazon. Forged Alliance was a blast to work on. Eric and I really got a chance to sink our teeth into the balance with the aid of the community. You all helped us tremendously. I look forward to doing the same thing with Demigod! With Beta right around the corner it's going to be an exciting time.
Good point. A vital organ ... and a mechanical device that is 100% reliable, never breaks down or complains. Ok. I can get behind that.
Wow. I don't think I've ever been compared to an artificial heart before. I can neither confirm or deny how I feel about this.
There is no monthly fee.
Oh, trust me TBO, my babies are at least 10% more invulnerable this time around! And thank you all for the vote of confidence. It's an intimidating role to fill.
