I use compression when transferring large files between computers. I have a local gigabit lan, but when I copied my steamapps folder over to the other desktop, I compressed a 65 GB file folder down to 43 and transferred it...still took five minutes to send, but at least I wasn't sending 65 GB folder at 256 MB/s.

It freezes on launch at this point...I managed to get it installed, but...nah, still won't play. Needs to be updated too...it's for a lan, so my roomate can play me...he likes the look of the game, and I can run it on my spare comp (well, it should...all the specs are fine). Not sure which downloads on the anywhere.demigod.com site I need to update it with either...but that's another story.

Being a good gamer has a greater status than it deserves. People, particularly younger people, tend to hang their feelings of self worth on being a good gamer. This is the reason (I think) people do some of the things they do. The term noob just reinforces the attitude, derision for those who do poorly, and the fattening of egos for those who do well, plus an opportunity to deride the poorer players...It's pretty messed up atm imo.

I originally had it installed on an x58 mobo, with a gtx 260, i7 920, asus xonar dx card...however, windows 7 is now running my htpc with a 790gx chipset, radeon 4770, creative xfi xtreme audio, athlon x2 5000+.

Well I have no idea the problem, aside from lack of drivers...arrgh, what a pain. Did you run the installer in a compatibility mode, or do you run it in compatibility mode? Any of you.

Windows 7 will be out in about a month, and is already available to OEMs, and right now demigod won't install without running it in compatibility mode, and even then there are an inordinate number of crashes. I think this will come up really quickly once OEMs start selling comps with windows seven installed. I could never get it to run reliably on the RC, and the full release is almost here.

I just moved into a new apartment...While I was in the process of moving, I didn't have any internet access...I did get into a couple of games with AI just to occupy myself...interestingly, I played an exile game...the AI use the crystal placement repeatedly to charge up and go back out.

I actually like that bug, you have to walk all the way around the bend to get to the crystal otherwise, and the map being as convoluted as it is...I think it's actually a boon to the map. It would get tedious to walk all the way back (if you lost both mid field crystals, or just had to drop back into that lane) But yeah, they probably didn't intend it. The erebus example does pose a side of it that sort of would be like exploiting it, mostly because you could hold up enemy troops if you're dr

mostly what I want is someone to balance the teams, so that I'm not the only player who knows what I'm doing in the game.
