You're right, Egalitarian doesn't mean what I think it meant, but you are indeed elitist. It's not about majority, it's about recognizing good ideas, and sifting through bad ones. Your example, I agree, is a bad one. Some things will become more clear with time, others won't. It is also about acknowledging that there are more valid perspectives than just the "1337". There are things to be gained by putting time into something, and looking closely at it, and things to be gained from ne

Can't quote, so I and you will have to do without. No, you did not say that being a casual player was a bad thing, but you do dismiss them as thinking people. People's ability to observe things is not limited to long term play in a game, in fact, fresh and newer impressions are frequently crucial to any sort of meaninful change. Everyone is concerned with winning, people enter into games to play a game, but frankly noone goes in planning on losing, they may be ok with losing, but they

"Ideally, a game should be balanced at the pro level. A casual player has no right to say something is overpowered/underpowered simply because they can't or refuse to counter it" - That is total Bullshit. in all seriousness, if you propose that every player undertaking a game of demigod or any other game for that matter should be subject to the opinions of of overly serious twits then you're stupid. Putting people through narrow apertures for success takes the game out of the game, that is, i

The mentality comes from too many too often using it as a cheap tactic. And probably since no game was complete without regulus for a long time, the primary double you saw was...take a guess. People are tired of that guy, and two on the team is too many. Besides which, why would you take one and only one demigod to play, when there are eight to choose from? Talk about making the game bland, What is limiting you from choosing something else? Limiting the variety in a game with already limited

Itchy, you're right about that. I don't play reg very often, and was told that he could have fifty mines out...It's still used in a spammy way, the mines get used rarely to try to defend an area, more for the purposes of attack. When they get used up immediately, they're basically a grenade..

I think the bigger issue is the cpu. It's a cpu dependant game. there are lots of little avatars running around that your cpu has to do the processing for. What is your computer? It sounds like a pre-built, what's the model number and brand? Or, in leiu of that, what is the processor? Core 2 duo or quad? An athlon or phenom?

I actually do think the damage should be reduced. The primary purpose of the mines should be to slow the enemy. Most other stun/slow attacks do limited damage. Mines do huge damage as well as slow the target, and what's more they're a spammy attack. He can have fifty mines out at a time, walking through a minefield of 9 shrapnel mines does a ton of damage. If mines were used purely defensively (controlling an area) they'd be fine or close to fine as they are. But that's not how they're used,

It seems almost random. I'm getting most of my connections at a normal ping, people I recognize at perfectly suitable pings...then there are others...Just today, for the first time, people I know and have played with before, where my ping will be around 600 causing horrible lag. Another game I joined, where I knew noone, had 6 of 8 normal pings, and two hovering around 600. What is going on?

It looks too short IMO. The path to the enemy citadel is short, and a couple of structures put between the two won't last very long. For a short game it makes sense and seems fine however. Also, the portals on the same side should probably spawn the creeps, not one on each. That's going to make too short a route to the enemy base. Just my feelings.

Someone suggested the concept of "diminishing returns" for the stacking of items, I think that is something of a reasonable concept that addresses your gripe. In an RPG, the plausibility of outrageously powerful characters is sort of part of the game, in fact, it's part of the appeal, fantasy life=RPG. RPG's, and by corrolary this one, is premised upon imbalances, which is odd for a short, online competitive game. It is something like an RTS as well, and premising an RTS on imbalances is seem

if two of the players had quit in a 4v4 game, the remaining players are at an incredible disadvantage. I think two people conceding=team concede is reasonable. I had my first concession win last night two, two people left a 5v5 brothers game (one from each team) over custom settings. Then a third person left, and their team conceded...I thought it was pretty lame, but I can understand as well. Meh. I WIN! :P

When you look at games in the games browser, you should be able to see the game options selected for a given game. When data is uploaded to whatever server the games browser is hosted on, you should also upload game settings, and use a hover over with the mouse to look at what they are. I'm getting tired of people dropping out of games I create because they are not "vanilla" and usually a minute into the game. Even when I told them to read the custom settings so I and everyone else I'm playin

So I'm playing demigod, we're playing exile, and we're approaching their fortress. I'm on the corner of the turn into their base, and a desync message comes up just as I'm casting a spell. The desync message had been popping up for a couple of minutes, but this time, because I'm casting something, I lose my cursor. Not usually a big problem, the link in the desync window usually highlights itself and I can hit it and it goes away. Not this time, I really get lost, I'm not sure where the curso

it's not working sadly, The default seems to be H (I hadn't changed any key assingments and that was the key in the keyboard options screen) I'm not sure if it's the macro programming software, or something else, but I can't get it to work. grump.

3-Yes you can do it. 2-Unfortunately, most other players are aware of this too, when on the losing side of the match, are pretty conscientious about the portals, especially late game...or they are in my experience. Given that levelling and gear are more determinants of your teams power and potential for victory, the way exile is set up, it's designed for a turnaround. No portal flags to be taken. Relics handy should you come to be able to afford them. ... &nbsp
