I'm sorry, what are you saying? That just because units can fly off the map at different altitudes that affect their actions, it doesn't make the maps 3d as far as gameplay is concerned?

I'm surprised at this topic, because I've seen very few fanboys and quite a lot of good discussion threads where people speak their mind and always disagree with each other.

Logic doesn't belong in a computer game outside balance. If I remember correctly, they've at least acknowledged the problem on IRC, but I don't remember if they said exploit or feature.

I dunno about the maps being effectively 2d, there are flying units as well.

Who said they were more expensive than dow2 maps? Dow2 are also ludicrously expensive and difficult to make (hence so few).

I agree with the OP, it is rather silly to keep players from a part of the game regularly.

Don't think that's unreasonable at all, there's just a bunch of steps need taking when models are this advanced.
