do you have any Logitech webcam drivers installed?
BulletMagnet
in Win7, i think the service is called WLAN AutoConfig (atleast that's the service with a description that fits the bill), so i'd see if it's called that in Vista.
well obviously you have to reinstall Impulse before you restore those archives; that's like trying to open *.doc files without without MS Word. the option to restore archives is in the Orb, so you don't have to go to My Games at all; just point Impulse at the archive files and it'll do it's job. on that note; the archive files don't need to be an a specific place either. since i've had to explain that; i'm concerned you're in above your head when it comes to reinstalling Windo
in Impulse, you have the option of archiving your games; do that. the archives should be *.impulse files. keep copies of those and you should be able to restore your Impulse games without any further trouble (you may have to re-activate them, but that'll only take you 2 minutes once you've got Windows re-installed).
alrighty. /BulletMagnet is back; with a fix in hand! download "FIX: Connecting to Lobby... forever and ever" from my GoogleCode page , read the instructions and try it out! [EDIT:] FUUuu-- fix doesn't work; all it's good for is getting to the lobby. [EDIT: again] aparantly; w
GOTCHA! so i ran in windowed mode and enabled logging (because i'm starting to mod DG), went into Skirmish and got the same-old-same-old Connecting to Lobby... screen. at this point, i had an aha-moment and checked the log. to my surprise, i found this at the very end of the log;
warning: Error running Hosting script in CScriptObject at 0bf82c00: ...\games\demigod\dgdata.zip\lua\ui\lobby\lobbybase.lua(787): attempt to concatenate local `ga
unplugging the webcam is not enough; it's the drivers (and i fail to see how closing the tray application fixes this; it didn't in SupCom) that need to be uninstalled. on that note; have you disabled Comodo Defense+ too?
/BulletMagnet gets this too. here's for bumping threads.
this incident pressured me to fix my laptop so i could download it onto there. now i have; access to a working computer (as opposed to the unmaintained PoS's to be found at the uni), a chance to finally put my Win7 key to good use (ZOMG! Win7 is fecking amazing), an up-to-date Demigod! (who would've known that the uni's wireless is (over) nine times faster than the 100mbit connection the actual computers have) i know Anywhere is still in beta
we can effectively exclude positions 1. and 2. by virtue of them being subscription services. lol, yes i did just say that about The Sims; have you seen what they do to keep people suckered in?
wow, that's one hot CPU you've got there. i'd be more than a little concerned there unless you've got an old P4 tank-of-a CPU.
if you've run Demigod before (ala. you've just patched it), then search for a file called game.prefs and make it migrate to the Recycle Bin. if, however, you've not run Demigod before, then you'll have to list your; graphics chip, specific driver version, current flavour of Windows used. that should give us enough information to tell you what to fix, or point you in the right direction.
DougalJacobs is right; even though there may not be many games that make full use of a QC, they are so affordable that not getting one is plain old silly. sooner or later something is going to be able to make use of one. and in this case, you can't make the argument that dual-cores overclock better; you're still in the realms of single-core computing.
yeah, i also have to cart my uni. work back and forth too (which, unfortunately is many hundreds of MB too). because i also have lectures and stuff to go to, my time in front of a computer is controlled too, so i'm limited to about 750MB (three pieces) per day.
Quoting DeadMG, reply 1The maps for Demigod I remember being told were hideously expensive. How can they be more expensive than, say, DoW2 maps ? Terrain is completely non-reactive and flat 2-D, while in DoW2 almost everything is destructible, including explosions that make pits in the groud and create new cover points, and there are staircases allowing combat between varying heights. Just creating a static ( though more beautiful ) mo
dual-core? ROFL!
so, i've lost three days worth of ferrying stuff from uni, and will have to do it all again? FUUuu--
so, i'm a poor university student, that lives in Australia. needless to say my home's internet is very slow, and is under a heavy quota. as such, i've been making use of Impulse Anywhere to ferry peices of Demigod from uni. to home so i can build it there. however, Today, as i was about to download the final pieces, i noticed that the naming system for files has changed. the pieces are now named; Demigod Data v1.00.055.im according to their reative or

it would also be helpful if you told us (or better yet, linked screenshots of) any error messages you get when trying to run.
what are you smoking, and where can i get some? in related news; what is you GPU, driver version, and power supply size? [EDIT:] i am an idiot; you're running windowed.
an unknown DirectX error; that's a little odd. try downloading the very latest DirectX redistibutable package from Microsoft, and installing that what you currently have.
thnx for the suggestion, but wat do u mean by "entry-level GPU"
the cheap stuff that's not really expected to play games on. it was an okay card when it came out, however that was a few years ago (and Demigod is brand-spanking-new).
hi, ummm...it seems that when i bought this game (i was so excited) i thought it was gonna run smoothly, even if i had to put it on Low graphics and everything. The Specs even say that i could play it. I dnt kno if its my computer, but the game lags sooo badly, its going about 3-5 FPS. My CPU is a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+, 2.01 GHz I also have bout 1.75 RAM And my Video Card is a NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT <br
unfortunatley a lot of universitys run p2p throttling so they dont clog up the networks with music and movie downloads, unfortunatley theres not a lot u can do
however, this may be remedied by SD's proxy network they are setting up. only time will tell, however. i too would like to be able to play whilst at uni; the two hours between lectures is potentially many games.
