this will be interesting; how many more complaints will the TS forum become inundated with? where will these proxies be located? what will the latency be like to Australia? FrogBoy, or any other discerning rep. from SD or GPG; we demand a Journal entry or at least a dirty great write up on this change. it's a huge change and we all need to be kept in the loop on what to expect .
BulletMagnet
SupCom started with woeful connectivity too; it got better with time. i'm sure every fricken P2P application (game, or not) goes through this.
you can delete that file and DG will make a new one the next time it starts.
Steam fans; pots calling kettles black since 2008.
i do believe it's SHIFT+TILDE (i could be wrong, away from gaming computer ATM).
if you bring up the console, there *may* be a ren_ to disable the backgrounds in-game (or maybe a part of it). then again, it may not; it worked in SupCom, so it's worth a shot.

yeah, it's that GPU that's really holding you back. and 8400M GS is going to be too weak to handle Demigod in all it's glory.
and may i ask what happens when the host leaves, or loses a connection? oh, i know: the game will end, period. then everyone will come to the forums and b**** and moan about hosts being crap.
@Vid-szhite noob? you can't play the game on the stardock multyplayer server if you got no serial key @_@
that was incorrect; for a length of time the servers didn't care about keys or not. they were still operating under the assumption that the only way to be able to play was if you had the beta, and the beta (at the time) was only available to those who pre-ordered and downloaded through Impulse.
will it run? yes. will it run well ? probably not. if you're planning on upgrading soon, then buy a copy and see how it fares.

may i ask; how is this a technical issue?
yeah, there's nothing that can be done. because the game is P2P, each computer has their own copy of the game-state. when the computers disagree on what the game-state should look like; you have a desync. and since there's no overrulling server to say "this is how it is", there's nothing that can be done to fix it. from that point on, the game will look more and more different between your computer and the desyncer's one. track down the file game.prefs and make it migrate to the Recycle Bin (this is an old trick from SupCom that appears to work here too). you'll find it tucked away in your Windows account somewhere in a hidden folder, so it's probably best to use the search function. if it doesn't work, it's safe to move the file back. i think i might be writing yet another [Solution:] thread soon.
read the stickied threads first.
that's the email for SD's support, however personal experience has taught me never ever go to the publisher and ask for help. asking on forums (despite the occasional flaming) is by far the best way of getting problems solved, so long as you're willing to take some initiative yourself.
nah, it's hidden inside your Windows account; probably best you ask the computer to search for it.
track down the file game.prefs, and make it migrate to the Recycle Bin. run DG again, and you find that all the settings are reset.
NUMPAD-SLASH
track down the file 'game.prefs', and make it migrate to the recycle bin. this often happened in SupCom, so it's quite possible it'll happen in DG too.
probably not, the Intel 965 may be your undoing. however, type DXDiag into the Start Menu's search box and thump the Enter-Key. take a look at the 'Display' tab. if it's got Intel written all over it, then bad-luck.
you'll find this thread useful if; you have an ATI card of some flavour, your Demigod looks like this; this just happens to be caused by, a clever little performance improving, technology called <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ge
