I tend to agree that Erebus shouldn't buy artifacts. He's better served with citadel upgrades. The most expensive item I'd go for is HoL. We're all aware that Strangler isn't a fan, and I do agree it's not something you want to get every game, but it's definitely one of the game's most solid items at its price range. That said, I'd sell the plenor battlecrown (or never buy it in the first place) if I was going for heart of life. Heart has passive mana regeneratio

If you're in a game that's Rook/Erebus vs Sedna/Regulus, then Sedna wins this by default no matter what. Many characters are more likely to win certain awards (TB for reinforcement kills, for instance). It stops being an award if you win by default just because you're a specific character. Consider the case of two people who are 15-0 and someone who is 14-0. One gets the kill / kill streak and likely gold award, the other doesn't even get a consolation prize. T
There's one change I think is absolutely neccessary: Snipe should not be able to target buildings - or, at the very least, it should not be able to target buildings out of site range.
I'd agree with that. I was more speaking about Regulus buffs (which seems to be the topic of this thread more than anything). If we're going to bring up nerfs, I'd say the activation times of his mines are another issue worth looking at.

I almost always play the TB as a hybrid. Seems a waste to give up either fireball or rain of ice, as both are absolutely fantastic skills that are hard to live without. That and you need to constantly change forms anyways to keep his mana regeneration up.

Depends on the map, what DG's are on your team, and their overall strategy. I'd direct you to read some of the topics about tower spamming Rooks on the boards; there are some good counters you should pay attention to. Rooks are great at pushing, but they're slow and lumbering monstrocities that need to keep up momentum. Lots of DG's have great tools to break that momentum, and if multiple Rooks are on the same lane they're just asking to have their towers taken down by a goo

Nightmare AI gets x4 cash, not x2. Try playing a "filthy rich" game on Prison (or another very small map) then kamikaze on the fortress with Oak for the win. You'll have just over 25k gold, while the nightmare AI will have a whopping 100k. It's virtually impossible to beat nightmares on high cash settings as a result, since you really need to build up a long-term advantage.

Depends on your DG; Regulus and UB should be getting items, whereas characters like Sedna and QoT should be more concerned with citadel upgrades and helping out the team. Characters like Erebus and Rook come down somewhere in the middle. Personally, I think the only citadel upgrade worthwhile at the start of the game is the building hit point upgrade, and in 3v3 or larger I really think someone really should buy it at the start of the game. It allows your buildings to rege

I'd personally pick up mass charm early on so you have a stun. It's Erebus' only stun, so without it enemy DG's can just use a teleport scroll to get away. This makes it very hard to get a kill, something Erebus normally is very good at doing. You only need one point, and the first level mana cost is reasonable. Poison blood and the second level of bat swarm are both things that can be delayed in your build to allow for one level of mass charm early on.

With the exception of Rook, none of those are situational. They are just aspects of the character. Erebus has no inherently advance on Prison due to his teleport, but he circumvents the normal chokes of the map on Crucible. Oak's kamikaze last stands work on every map, and it's not specific to any feature that is unique to one map. The only maps where Erebus can really cross a boundary are Exile, Brothers, and Crucible. Exile isn't a huge problem, but Crucible an
I'd argue that Oak is OP, but I don't think that would get the wild support bite has. Oak is a harder character to use, but he's some fantastic when he does it right.
Totally agree; Oak is a fantastic character, and probably the only general whose minions are anywhere near strong enough. Like most generals, I think Erebus needs some buffs to his minions, maybe a buff to mist form, and otherwise he's fine. Bite's still his ace in the hole, it's just not as
Darvin, I think your main problem is that you've resigned yourself to being a "slow Demigod"
It's not that I've consigned myself to having a slower demigod, but rather that my issue is when I'm playing a slower demigod. Getting speed items helps only so much, because enemy demigods can do the same to you. As I said, the primary issue is that when the enemy is faster than you, even by a slight margin (or if they have skills like maim or diseased claws

The first gold upgrade is pretty well a must-get. It's absolutely phenominal and if you can't afford it because you're being pushed too hard chances are you're going to lose anyways. After that, they're usually not worth it.

I wouldn't even consider playing QoT without brambles. It's without doubt her most powerful skill, and a prerequisite for her high level synergy with her ground spikes. Her shamblers are pretty crappy, and her ground spikes are her only other great skills. If you don't want to use brambles, you're playing the wrong character.

There are a few issues I have here. The first is that you can't compare favour items once their "equivalent" stock item is in the 3000+ range. This is because the favour item appears immediately, while items like Journeyman's Treads appears very late, almost in the artifact-level cost range. That's a huge duration in the game when the favour item was granting benefit but the more costly item was not. Secondly, you have to remember that you cannot stack two of t

The one issue I have with that is that all the counters are situational. You either need a general-class DG to be present with you at all times or you need to pick a specific favour item (presuming favour is even enabled in the first place). This doesn't help for the general case; Sedna won't always be there to cover the TB's ass, and the UB is watching and waiting for that opportunity to come up. Surviving spit, and doing so well enough to keep pushing your lane, is not t

Some demigods (namely the generals) have great responses to spit, and if I'm up against a general-heavy team I usually go for a completely different build, getting spit mostly for pushing towers if at all. It's the assassins that have trouble with spit. If favour items are disabled, there is no way for assassins to remove the effect, forcing them to stock up on health and regen items to counter you.

Once again, I have to say that I have never seen this mythical Rook that forgoes towers and still performs well. It works if you vastly outclass your opponent (say against AI's...), but I've never seen a successful Rook against competent players who didn't get towers. I'll change my opinion when I see it, but to date I have not seen a competent Rook that doesn't get towers.
You should consider Blade of the Serpent as a favor item
Blade of Serpent? I've never seen or heard of this favour item before. What is it/how do you get it?

IMO, Regulus vs Rook is definitely one of the game's most slanted demigod matches. It's not unbeatable, but it's definitely Regulus at his best and Rook at his worst. However, there are some ways to deal with it. As with TB, you want to keep your towers spread out so he has trouble hitting them all with one AoE ability. Regulus is a little easier to stop than TB in this regard, and you should be able to deal with his area of effect damage with some modest spacing.&nb

Once again, I have to ask what items you guys are using to teleport. The warpstone and cloak of elvenkind lack the range to get over that gap, so other demigods (even if you can shell out thousands of gold for these items) cannot duplicate what Erebus can do. Erebus' skill is also invaluable for getting in and out of battle, since he is no longer bounded by the normal choke points of the map, enabling him to circumvent enemy lines and steal flags from under their noses. It's
