an idea would be to buy "points" and say each point costs 1800 gold, then each unit upgrade woudl cost X amount of points (eg. minion I and II would be 1 point each, but III would be 2 points and IV would be 3 points) this way rather than getting cold cash u just get the point back. not sure how a deminishing return woudl work for this... maybe have a 50% reduction so u have to give up 2 points in order to only get one back.. maybe? idk thought?

an idea would to make it a castable area effect like TB's fire circle... (except not around QoP, but in a circle within here cast range) once casted the area will sprout roots and any builds in the area will take damage (less that what Uproot does not but still a nice bit of damage) then on top of that effect units are slowed by the roots. this way QoP can: -Take out multiple towers at one (ex, Tower Rook) <p style="pad
an idea for Trebs is for the cost to be dependent on the actual map, say a base 1800 gold and an extra 500 gold for every fortress standing at the time of purchase. either that or make the trebs a seperate building which apears (like in brothers) beside the Citadel and not on top of the fortresses (the price would be fixed then) changing topic to the Finger of God an idea would be an upgrade to the original purchase to decrease the cool down on it by say 15 secs. originaly
I'm not that much into modding myself, but the only suggestion I could make is to have clear rules regarding how to name the topics.
i really like this idea... i know when ever i post a topic i always have a colon sperating the type form the actual idea (example, New Favor Item: {Insert Idea} ) i know a lot of people do this already however i'd liek to cut down on those who post things like "Today i
I would love to see this implemented. It would add more strategy. Also, I think that minion upgrades should also be able to "sell" (for less than the original price, of course) so that you can dinamically change your creep wave. If they could not be selled, then a team that has invested in one combination will get their asses handed to them by the opposing team who got the counter parts to the creep wave. This way the ballance of power will constantly shift and victory won't be certain
the idea for reduced gold/EXP gained by enemy who kill u is in this thread: New Favor Item: Death's Mirror
very nice compilation... particularly like the ideas for new upgrades. in fact i also did a bit of thinking a while back for something like this to expand the grunt upgrades a bit. check it out (if u haven't seen it already) Increase Game Depth: Citadel Minion Expansion (with pics)
very nice idea... was a little worried it might be a bit too similer to Erebus however i think the speration would easily be made if you just changed Stun Cirle to something else. the 360 acr swing is nice but i think the stun is unneeded, or maybe just a mini stun at a high level. mana burn is awesome, what the game needs more of IMO. and i like the idea of a move that can't be stopped untill near death (however maybe having a 2 or 3 cast time which can be interupted, eve
We're looking forward to a hotfix (not 1.2) later today that addresses some crash and stat issues.
[e digicons][/e] thank you Kryo... keep up the good work!
Native VOIP - not needed, vent works fine, and is really preffered than trying to re-develop the wheel.
i have to disagree with this... a built in VOIP system is better than vent for 2 reasons... 1st... means random pubs can chat and play insync as a team... 2nd... being able to switch between team chat and all chat if much easier when its in game rather than over vent..
Lobby Stats... So I don't have to alt tab and crash 5%
With the General Section going into complete anarchy and proper "developer community" discussion going completely out the window i think this is the perfect time to concentrate on the idea section for a good solid base for modders when the SDK comes out (no ETA yet). To help with organization a few good compilation threads have already been created (i noticed before posting that even the Master Game Features one has resurfaced) including the Master Demigod on already pinned
quick questions... how do i create a blank map in the Map selection screen? i want to make a test file so i can figur eout this rectangle collision stuff but have no idea how to do that. has anyone been able to do this?
while on the topic of maps... i thought i'd let everyone know that i'm 95% sure that altitude isn't a problem when it comes ot map creations... at least not gor pathing. still figuring out the collision however if u look at the lua all the coordinances are in X, Y, Z format... and currently the only changing variables are X, Z. Y is what controlls height and is used by the angles with their pathing... so the theory goes that u could have a map where Y (currently 100) could change
You mean like:
exactly... notice how stuff done by SD greatly out weighs that of GPG... hence:
Stardock's doing all they can do afaict. GPG is the one dropping the ball.

Now just for fun:
that was amazing... i would love ot know how u did all that (a lot of script writing i'm guessing) if u have some time u should definately demo how u got all that to work. i can't even get models into the let alone change attack and spells. Awesome job! [e digicons][/e]
just for those interested here is a render of the 3Ds max model i'm building for this map. currently i've added in the ground as well which included the canyon however i might have make the ground a lot larger than previously expected. let me knwo if there is anything i should change (the actual .max file i will upload in a bit as soon as i get the last few maps fi
ok, so moving objects around and adding in new pre-exisinting ones i can do. i also figured out how to change waypoints and pathing around however now i'm stuck on a new section, and thats the actual area and collision of the map. i think its stored in the [ Area ] sections however i have now idea how to figure this out. can anyone help? this is what it looks like:
--[[ &

a few days ago i almost posted this up, how i'm now really glad io didn't cause it allowed em to not only copme up with another similar idea but also look into how this might be done. as the title suggests these r king of the hill type modes that could be coded into thye game right now and be 100% compatible with any map. i also thought up ways to stop tower rooks breaking the mode as well as 2 seperate point systems for mode. <span style="font-size:
wow... my very own post [e digicons][/e] unfortunately i have to agree that my presence wouldn't speed up development by even a little (in fact my poor programming skills would probably hinder them if anything). i actualy have several friends in game development so i can understand the amazing amount of time it takes to do anything and after diving into the .lua script for maps i can see that map building is going to be a full time job. at the m
we need to have a community wide call out for some GPG posts... "Come on GPG, i dare u to post in here!" lol [e digicons];P[/e]
if its happening in single player it might be a video problem... u said u had a 126 mb graphic card (which isn't top notch but should still run the game) so try update ur drivers to start and if that doesn't work then its debug and report time (at which point it's in GPG ballpark) [e digicons][/e]
have u asked if your fellow players are having similar problems... since Demigods is peer to peer what ever u see and feel in game everyone else feels the game. if there is a one sec delay it might be from a desync or something and my advise is to go to the Problem Reports Section and post the debug file there and email their support. if that doesn't work try taying off any mind altering drugs or chemicals and take a break from the caffine
how about you team looses if a player dies 10 times in a row without geting a kill. would be faster or could be a second objective. then a lovely little stat box in theupper right hand corner which who pwns and who's pwned
well having a look at when u posted your last 2 journals: I'm Back --> posted July 8th Weekend Upate --> posted July 18th so thats around ten days of "silence" and i think the major "abandonment posts" came around the the 15th so about a week. i think as a minimum if we could just get one new journal enry a week (and they can be complete recaps for all i care) then i think the community will be saisfied. of course m
