could u add another info tag in the lobby for a clan tag or somethng. this way those who want to create pre arranged matches can make sure they're facing a team all on the same team/clan. this could also be used for those looking for friendly pub games and would help to boost clan recuitment. a simple box by (or in) the name thats say 5 characters. then when ur in gam the names would come up like: Lig

yep, this is what i've been wating for. ok (*crack knuckles*) here we go.. 1V1 Map Ideas New Map Idea: Pit (1v1) (with Pics) <
i actualy found if u view the minimap (mapXX_minimap.dds) with WTV then u can actualy get the aproximate coordinance bycursoring over the desired location. not 100% accurate but kind of helps. that said an actual mode for this would be very helpful.
don't leave [e digicons]:'([/e] what will we do when we have questions? or need an occasional pat on the back to cheer us up?... well if u are going to leave can u at least drop by form time to time so we can catch up... for old times sakes?
thank you, i can now move random objects around the place, still figuring out whats what but i think i got the hang of it. while i'm posting i was wondering if anyone new what the code was for towers? say i wanted to add in a few extra towers or maybe move an existing one, which line of code would that be?
i have a questions for any modders out there: currently i've been fooling around with the lua script and were wondering if there was a way to test stuff i've done. every time i make even the smallest change to anything in the zip file i just causes my game to crash on start up. i'm very new lua and scripting and trying to learn as fast as i can so whe the SDK comes out i'm fully prepared. any tips or good books i should be looking into?
There won't be a map editor or Demigod editor, which basically means we won't see new map modes made by players.
i agree with ur first part however they are opening up modding, it's just not going to be in a Editor for Dummies program like WC3 Editor. basicly means that those who will be able to make new maps and new demigods are going to have a lot of experiance under their belts and probably won't put out crap, buggy mods (which is good). the only draw bac
i agree that $9 is a fair price for having 2 Demigods as DLC, however IMO maps, items, and all other balance and content should be free. then to sort of split it up into versions: X.00 would be new demigods 0.X0 would be new maps, features, items etc 0.0X would be balance/bug fixes this way new demigods would count almost like an expansion pack allowing those who didn't buy the DLC to still play againt each other.
agreed, every time i come on the forums i expect the dev's to jump out form what ever rock they've been hiding under with a grin on their faces and content to be uploaded. however that isn't the point at all of my post. there is a big difference between a game doing bad and fail which i think needs clearing up. i think the game will do bad without proper a developer to consumer relationship <st
might actualy have a point there... i did a bit of sniffing and check this out: Last Post by Foreshadowed --> Dated: June 27, 2009 19:42:39 Account Created for SleepyForest --> Dated: July 9, 2009 2:42:08 now 2 weeks is quite a long time to be inactive however it's the right time frame at least for an angry troll to make a new account. however we'll
i think when they ban u they ban ur IP as well... so unless he when out and bought a new computer, IPS and moved a few blocks to the right then i think it might be a diffrent person.
for those digging up ancient history here is the post with Chaosnaska getting banned and discussion on it: Please let us give negative karma (this one's for you, Chaosnaska) </span
So you think the CEO not posting some crap on the forums every week is going to lead to the downfall of this game? There are plenty of things that will lead to the downfall, but I think that reason is pretty far down the list.
where in my post did i ever say that game will fail because Frogby isn't posting... try reading the whole post one word at a time before making posts. what i said is that the game will do badly (not fail) if there is no comunication from the
Here's two idea that i posted a while back... i have about 2 more on file and ready to post but since there has been no word wat so ever on any modding or map creation i've current;y given up on new ideas and await an offical reponse to future plans before wasting any more of my time. New Map Idea: Castel Top (1v1) <span s
Many many post on the forums are currently sinking into depression. Cries that the developers have abandoned us.. that frogboy don't care.. or that demigods have been back shelved for newer projects. These are specifically coming from the lack of feedback of any sort coming from SD or GPG. lack of content combined with unfixed bugs and no ETA for any new patches has really stunted the communities growth. Along with other MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) games c
Hellgate: London - released early, tonnes of features promised, they never came, in-game chat barely worked - for an MMO is unforgivable - players left in droves - Flagship Studios (developer) disbanded Titan Quest - expansion pack released with game breaking loading problem causing big lag, no patch ever produced - Iron Lore (developer) disbanded CnC3 - tonnes of QQ on forums about overpowered combos / exploits, took months for fixes, during which time 90% of the community l
agreed.. lately it definately feeling like this communitee has been somewhat abandoned as of late. sine SD had Elemental and GPG had SupCom 2 this seems to have been back shelved, hence why modders need to be given a chance to improve the game. and... /signed for this... i even made a post for it back in the day. Compass in Mini Map? so SD/GPG... better get that modding out fast so we can actualy fix the UI (since our cries for help always go unanswered)
dam it... u stole my post name! [e digicons]XO[/e] i just finished writting up a post with the exact same name (and then posted without seeing urs). of well my idea can wait a while untill this gets buried a bit. [e digicons];P[/e]
well i posted up on their forums to see if anyone is reading over there. if anyone checks both have a look for the post here: Looking for Developer Input
3. I am able to persuade GPG to let modders and Stardock to produce Demigods/maps for them and then release them.
Option 3 all the way... if they suddenly released modding capabilities i would sit down at my computer and work my ass of until i'd made at least 2 or 3 new maps and edited the hell out of the items... neglecting sleep... food... showering... blinking. it say within 24 hours i'd be able to get at least (depending on the details) 3 maps up and run
well modding support was support to be up in V1.2 (as in September) however Frogboy annonced that they were going to push it down the list so Clan Support can take its place... so by 1.3 i think he means > 1.2. for mor einfo check out the I'm Back post in Journals
i remember reading that back in early development and Beta of the game they were debating between using "line of sight" or "fog of war". what ever the reason they chose "fog of war" and thus objects can't block you view withi that area. because of the way they made the engine it is actualy impossible to change it to "line of sight" without completely rebuilding the engine. on that note thou i did try my hand at getting around this draw back with an idea for
but in my experience, game developers very rarely (if ever) implement player ideas.
see, this is what i'm afraid of. in any other game or genre this would be perfectly acceptable and having and idea section in that sort of game is almost useless. HOWEVER, this is RPG/RTS tower pushing map bases (on many levels) on DotA, and the main reason that DotA is so popular is because of content... its not clan support... or rage quitting...
Reason why this is in the Idea Section is because i don't want to know the nit and grit of the design process but what i would like is if GPG is actually taking our ideas from this section and tweaking them into reality or if they have their own super team of designers doing their own ideas? if it is that latter (and i hope it is not) then i think its probably a good idea to let us know rather than have many talented people waste their time and energy on something pointless. how
