It depends how the game is going. I like plaing QoT with minions, but I won't usually get the idols until later. But if I need to quickly power up, I'll the best possible idols I can afford, preferably one of each. Good clerics are the most important. It depends on your build ofc, but if you get the class spesific minions and buff them up, you're pretty well set. At some point though, getting all the minions is well worth it, if you're also getting items and skills to boost them. The more, th

I've used the buy/resell trick every now and then. Just at the beginning, to get those two clerics. It works pretty well, but as I've only tried it on QoT, can't really say how good it can be. I'm mostly sitting at full health anyway. But when health does drop, having those clerics nearby is hand. The problem is, when the clerics die, they're gone. Usually they last long enough that I can afford to buy idol for real. When I see generals with minions on the first few levels, I usually
Buying cleric idol asap helps. Or just buying idol, summoning and selling it away. Clerics, when kept alive, can help you stay on the front longer. Clerics can also be used to harass UB along with your spirits, if used carefully. Most probably UB won't have much mana for his Spit early game, so with just clerics and maybe shield and some health regen item you should be able to outlast him.
Ya, Regulus isn't that op.. probably. Really good, though, but mostly any DG can be. Anyway, Regulus doesn't even leech life, unless he gets a item for that. So, any DG can leech life, if they want. I haven't had any problems with snipe, either. Imo it's just a cool feature that Regulus can snipe after porting. I mean, he doesn't stun, and many DGs can just interrupt port and kill.
Ye, these would go far towards making the game more intuitive to play. Even the thing about which side I'm on, happens for me too. I hear "Light side has grown stronger", at which point I check my base's color scheme.
Hard to not tell about boots of speed and such, when it comes to Rook. Apparently, many Rooks use favor item that gives them speed (15% I think) and on top of that may buy those +10% speed boots. Oh, and there's also a consumable that gives temporary +25% speed boost. But ofc Rook has to buy those items, using them means not using something else. Though at least the favor item for Rook can be pretty much no-brainer. With QoT Rook shouldn't be able to catch up with you easily, even if
True, dying shouldn't happen often. But on public games there will always be new players and such, and having even one feeder in team can pretty much ruin the game. As mentioned above, it's snowball effect. If even single players keeps getting killed, eventually the opposing team grows strong enough to pretty much disable or outright kill even the other demigods. So, the reward for killing demigods might be balanced for a game, where everybody knows what they're doing, at least enough not to
Whoa, played few games using roughly this build. There were few times I missed snipe, but mostly losing it didn't feel that bad. Mines and MotB are really good, MotB feels a bit op at times. With mines, Regulus is pretty save from any DG that's not way overgeared, can somewhat keep minions in check (the minions can usually take few mines and live), gib people.. nice stuff :) The +11 mana regen/+4 mana regen aura - helmet pretty much fixes any mana problems for Regulus, unless spamming
Give the game 3 months before whining about rebalences please... you just need to think outside your current builds and tactics... Personally I never have had a problem yet.
Eh, I don't see how that's whining. And it's not about having problems - or being less skilled - either, just how the game feels like. While the game has far pressing problems atm, I don't think feedback is a bad thing. Like, this may not chance anytime so
I played some games using the build suggested. It works, but Mulch feels pretty bad all in all. It can save you, but the points spent there would work better elsewhere. It's lots of point wasted for self heals when you're not getting hit, and imo you'd just be better off keeping pressure on other DGs using offensive skills than having a good self heal. Often I found the shamblers dead when I needed them, but that's mostly just that I didn't micro them much. After I switched to using i
Kinda have to agree, killing DGs gives too much gold. A single teammate who's feeding the other team can ruin the whole game way too easily. Like, they're helping the other team. The amount of gold earned on killing a DG should be more based on his stats in the game, good players would be worth more, and being repeatedly killed would reduce the amount of gold granted (not to the point where suicidal strikes become a valid strategy, though. But there's still 30s respawn, which can be pretty br
Agreed. 30 secs isn't that long time, but it would still be great to see the skills. And it would also be nice to see some listing of items and prices, if possible, so you could plan how to spend your gold beforehands. It would help even out the difference between players who've planned their builds and know every item in the shops, and new players who atm have to spend valuable playtime shopping. Though alt+tab and a helpful web site would do that as well.. Grayed out view is kinda c
Nice strategy, I think I'll play Regulus as soon as the servers are up and working again, thanks to your guide :) Few questions, though. How do the mines work? Is there some activation time after you throw them? I've played Regulus only a few times, and without mines, and dind't pay that much attention when I got thrown mines at my face (safe and comfy beyond QoT shield). And how often does the gold income tick? Like, how long does it take for the investment to pay itself back (exclud
++@ksmosi... that's why they have Instant action skirmish.. i know it doens't work right now.. but they at least but that in there.. although why have 2 random instant actions?? kinda bad lolz pantheon random- Skirmish-Random.. my lord.. so many bumps
Dunno if skirmish is ranked. If it is, no problem there. If not, well, it would be nice for randoms to play some kind of ranked matches too. It's more about luck ofc, but still, they'd be on their own ladder :) And
Arranged teams are a must, but it should be arranged teams vs. arranged teams, randoms vs. randoms. Not everybody has friends who play the game, or wants to commit to a clan. They still should have a chance to play other games than just custom maps. Arranged team, especially one using Vent or other vc versus bunch of randoms isn't even a game, it just assrape. With a log. With spikes on it. Really :/
And dota just reduces the variaty with combinations. It takes 75 items and turns them into 10. How many times are you going to get ying without getting yang too? It'd be better really if you started with 24 items, and had upgrades which branched them out where you technically have hundreds, but it seems like less since it's starting with a few and upgrades are focused. But about 30% of the items really need to be redo
As far as I've seen, there's no problem with minions and idols, aside from the bug with 2+ of the same type, ofc. I've been playing QoT most of the games, and the minions get countered pretty easily. Newer players (as in, first game or so) seem to have problems with them, but mostly players can just ignore the minions and go after the DG. It's harder, with the minions blocking and doing damage, but doable. It feels pretty balanced, as at least with QoT minion build I can barely kill DGs. I ca
It's well possible to gank and backstab on normal speed too, relative speed of characters is still the same. Only, with fast setting you're relying more on surprise than positioning, I think. I'm not saying (or at least, admitting) that I have bad reflexes or such, preferring normal speed has nothing to do with that. It's about how I like to play this game. And I don't like having to throw my tea cup away so I can respond to some Rook speeding towards me to Hammer me to the ground. An
I've yet to see any cursing or elitist activities. Could be I'm just lucky though, but so far the community's been really nice compared to many other games. Ofc it could be because few save those who played in beta have much experience in the game, but still.. I've almost whined about teammates myself, though. But it's usually just that the opponents have way better players or such. Especially considering this community has so far been way better than in DotA (or WoW and such..), I'm
The speed feels bit annoying at times, but it's tolerable. I don't usually walk any longer distance if I can avoid it, and would still use teleports on higher speeds, as the same stuff would still happen while I'm walking. And while in action the speed feels right, I have bit time to think what I'm going to do and more room for mistakes, too (say, misclicks won't be that bad etc). The game's still strategy game somewhat, not a shooter or such. In DotA the speed was nice, and at first
I've seen some pretty cool turnarounds happen. Though it really depends, it does need pretty even teams too. If the other team gets to the point where they're getting artifacts while the the other team is struggling, it's pretty much impossible. Like, one DG singlehandedly beating two and such. On the snakey map (whatever it's name was), it's actually annoying how the game can turn. The crystal is so close to the citadel that the defending team can just farm there, if not totally outm
