When Steam first game, I disliked it. I didn't want to install any additional programs on my computer just to play the same Half Life mods I'd played before. It also took long time for a patch to arrive for Desert Crisis, if I remember right, and the mod was pretty abandoned for a longish time. When I heard lots of people having problems with Steam, I simply uninstalled HL1 and went for other games. I haven't gotten over this. As long as Steam needs to be on to play games, and there's

Usually what character I choose to play is pretty heavily influenced by the looks and flavor of character. But in Demigod I can't really choose between them, I like them all, how they look and and how they play. Really need an option to choose a random demigod :) I like Queen of Thorns' chariot, like, she just can't be bothered with walking. It's just cool how she comes from the flower to stand above others and wreak havoc. But ye, the breasts are a bit comical, and the strategically
Read Kistrel's Tips , they cover pretty much the basics. Ranged demigods can be a bit more newbie friendly than melee, but it's really up to your preferred playstyle. Though, Torch Bearer using mostly fire skills is pretty much as simple as they get. "Fireball! Fireball! Fire.. nova!"
Well, it happens, everybody has his first few games, and not all are good at first. Though, it is pretty frustrating. I had a similar experience in a game. I think it was a a 2v2, not sure now. It was on Prison anyway. My teammate was playing a Rook. And apparently he took Rook's awesomeness pretty seriously, as he fearlessly charged against enemies regardless of health, even when alone against two. And died. A lot. And when he didn't find enemy demigods, he just went straight for their tower
I don't think it's particularly helpful towards new players to scare them away from custom games. While getting totally owned by arranged teams isn't particularly helpful, playing against human players is far more helpful than playing against bots (I still haven't played a single Pantheon/Skirmish where majority of players wouldn't be bots). Sure, you can lose more often in Custom games, but you also learn a lot more. When a particularly nasty tactic (capping+caplocking enemy base por
Gamereplay Tips of the Week Demigod Economy You meant these, Ke5trel? Uh, and this has kinda beein said before, but: Catapultasaurs and giants can be risky, if you feel your team can't support them for longer periods (like, the closer you are to enemy base the easier it's for them to regen, and the les
What if, instead of uber damage, spit had a 5/10/15/20% cripple for 10 seconds, and some minor DoT?
Yeh, but this wouldn't necessarily be a nerf but changing how the skill works. At least with those numbers UB early game would be a lot harder, 5/10% is so-so, especially if the range remains same. Basically, the movement speed reduction would have to be enough that UB, assuming it already has a slight movement speed advantage, w
Well, whether a skill is op or not also has a much to do how the demigod does in general. Yes, Spit is really good, basically no build should skip it atm. But most demigods have such skills. But Spit doesn't really make UB overpowered, and so I think it's balanced. Admittedly especially UB early game is just running around and Spitting, UB rarely gets to melee demigods then. But if Spit were nerfed much, what could UB do against ranged demigods early game? Can't really run near towers
Artifacts cover any weakness nicely. Elfinkind anyone?
Artifacts are also expensive. Items can be used to cover hero's weaknesses, but it always costs gold. And opponent demigods get items too. I haven't had any more problems with UB than with any other demigods. Spit is the annoying bit especially early game, but it's not like other demigods can't harass. Of course UB can get a kill after a few spits if enemy DG is sti
...so it's OK for one demigod to completely slaughter every other demigod and require teamwork to be defeated?! ... WHAT THE F***?!
I believe he meant UB just pops easily against teamwork. As in, he can be defeated otherwise too, but UB doesn't have many panic buttons nor health against ganking. Compare this to say, Erebus or Oak, who.. well, can't be taken easily even with teamwork, they have a higher cha

To snare somebody you have to catch them first anyway. UB is usually the fastest DG in a game with Anklet, Boots, skill and innate fast speed, which pretty much eliminates the need for snare effect
1. I read elsewhere it's not for killing enemy units, but dealing enough damage to them. So yes, it's advantageous. 2. 20.. whatever units it is, I believe. If you can throw a long range spell to enemy creeps from where you're standing, yo should also get exp. 3. The linking is just a visual effect and doesn't affect gameplay. Not 100% sure, but nearly.. 4. Depends on situation. Usually you should take them, they help take towers down and benefit your war score.
You explained this much better this time. It's just that the word Pantheon here is a bit confusing. I agree, there should be a ranked team vs. team mode, and all demigods should be avaible for use there. However, I still like the idea of Pantheon, light and dark demigods against each other has flavor. But since you aren't even suggesting removing the old Pantheon, from what I understand anyway, I agree [e digicons][/e]
Like DalzK said, it's not like this is about 1v1. I see your point about assassins though.. But Sedna (the tigergirl.. mm..) isn't that op 1v1. I don't remember the exact numbers, but I don't think Pounce deals 1000 damage, it's less. You both have to pay mana for your skills, it's not like Sedna gets free heals, Healing Wind excluded. You as Torch Bearer also have more damage skills than just fireball, can have stun, and such. TB is also a ranged demigod, Sedna is not (though se can
Just played a game on Prison where we were pretty much losing, half of our base was wrecked, one portal already got captured once etc. They hadn't lost a single tower We had like, 1 kill, the other team had some 4 or so. It was pretty even game. The other team had bought clerics early however, while we had only updated xp, gold and buildings, so we were leading on levels despite our base taking hits. We pretty much turned the game around by playing defensive. It was a close call when
I sign the Panic Button, though interactive minimap would be even better. Teleport isn't usually a good way to escape anyway, with so many interrupts etc. This would simply help game flow and not lessen the skill needed. I don't see anything wrong with better zoom either, though I don't really use zoom much myself. I'm just too lazy.
Nah, I just meant the name. Regulus has something like cleave in Divine Fury, though it costs some mana to use, and UB's Post Mortum is for most of the game effectively cleave, so I think it's pretty balanced as skill.
Ye, Uproot is lacking, UB's spit is basically just as good for destroying towers, and it works on demigods too. With Compost Uproot can do very decent damage though, and it has better range than spit. But Uproot isn't usually the first priority, or even second, and by the time it's realistic to take Uproot towers can be pretty much taken down without it. Also, Compost is not worth taking for Uproot alone, and builds that go for shamblers tend to be tight on points to begin with, like Doggiedo
Bots have 0 ping.
Some cool ideas there. I especially like Quicksand, especially that it also affects Sphinx and allies. I've no idea how balanced Sphinx would be, but at first sight this sounds something like this would be fun to play. But really.. Kickup? :P
Invisibility as such wouldn't be a game breaker. With the scrying things being dirt cheap, and worth using even when there aren't any invisible things in a game, it wouldn't be that good. Especially since towers can see invisible, too (or am I mistaken? I think they can). As escape mechanism it might be really good, but I believe offensive use wouldn't be that good against any players that know what they're doing. Of course, forums would be full of whining people complaining they can'
Troll? I can't sometimes tell the difference. I'm assuming this isn't.. Atm there's like, one exploit, and it's not particularly useful. The demigods are quite well balanced all in all, and I don't think there are any hacks around. My theory is, you don't instantly evaporate in skirmish or pantheon because they're just full of bots atm, maybe a player or two if really lucky. My tip for newer players is, read Kestrel's tips. , they might help to get
Just played my first proper games as Erebus. I don't really like assassin Erebuses (Erebi? :) ), as they're all over the place. So I just went for night walkers, Bite and mist later. All I really needed was some more health and a decent amount of mana regen with some minion boosting gear later, it was really easy to dominate stuff. I planned on going for idols later, but the games I played ended at around lvl 12, so I really didn't get much chance to buy those. Mostly I just ran towar
Whoa, this is what I was looking for. Just asked if somebody knew this in another thread. Great job :)
Has anybody tested/does anybody know if percentage regen stacks with flat regen? Or with skill/effect bonuses, such as QoT closed form? Might as well ask it in this thread, I think.. .-.
