SoFFacet, that was my point. That the competitive community won't be formed when premade teams endlessly noob stomp. There is probably a dozen or so pre-made teams with records of something like 100-2 or so. I don't understand you guys stomping noobs for hundreds of games. It seems almost insane - like someone playing on the easy difficulty over and over and over again never getting challenged. What do you get out of it? Why don't you arrange matches between the top teams?

How many times have you three's premades battled it out? I mean, you're all US and seem to play at the same times so you must've had many games together battling it out in a grandiose way really challenging yourselves instead of noob stomping, right? Edit: not Healer, but the three guys above him.
I have to say that I tend to favour games that say "no noobs" on the title and try to get on the same side as the host. This takes care of most "against pre-mades"-woes plus I like the light side sounds better than dark side. Other than that it's mostly luck. I don't check people's stats before deciding whether to play or not, for example. A minor thing also, I favour Sedna (though I do play Oak, UB and occasionally Reg as well), which helps in that I can sometimes keep my less experi
I've done this a number of times msyelf... But who cares? Most of the time when I play without someone I know the match always winds up being rather dull... I thought that I should jinx myself by being publically happy about achieving 18 wins in a row in custom games without the benefit of a premade team. [e digicons]\o/[/e] [e digicons][/e] Though I have to admit that twice I've played a really bad game and kinda should've lost. One time an opponent dropped and we won because of that and another time we just had such an awesome Reg that me dying five frigging times as Sedna didn't doom us. So m
What's weird is that igramosch seems to often drop at the start even when wizzla manages to join the game on the same side... igramosch is a good player, I can vouch for that, but this seems like a bit shady and rather dickish effectively ruining most of the matches he takes part in by quitting within three minutes.
Regen sure helps for UB + Ooze though...
When I play Ooze UB I don't keep the Ooze up 24/7. Even if my health reg is slightly lagging behind in that I take, say, 5 hp/s damage while the Ooze is up it won't do as much damage as is being mitigated by the armour that Nimoth has provided that you use the Ooze only while fighting against someone.
I feel you, but I have to say that my experience has been different. Aside from one ultra leet hardcore guy, I've never seen anyone give grief to another for dying like twice. Of course if you die three to ten times during the early parts of the game someone is going to give you a hard time, but I think that that is somewhat understandable (though hardly laudable). Could be that I game in the EU zone - IME USians tend to be more abusive in games.

I suggest reading the rest of the articles in Sirlin's series where he basically detracts most of what is said in the first article (that is always the only one spouted in conversations like these by gamers e-hung like donkeys in a porn movie).

In general, I've found that going for "Power of the Tower II" and "Hammer Slam III" are more important. The basic ninja build takes 3 skill points ("Hammer Slam I + II + III", "Boulder Roll"). "Power of the Tower I + II" take two skill points. To get the "Tower of Light," I need to get "Archer Tower" first. This means that I can't get the tower of light until lev
WC3 supports the direct controlling of multiple units on a much more fundamental level than Demigod. Giving the control of a quitter's DG to others in the team would take a lot of coding, I believe. An easy solution would be to award no Gold/XP for killing a bot in multiplayer. That way they wouldn't feed the enemy but wouldn't still be overpowering in any shape or form. The idea of a game ending in victory once all opponents have turned into bots is pure gold, though. Might be worth

Some items give +10% (or +15%) dodge. Does it work against abilites or just against autoattacks? Does it work against AoE effects? Does it work against towers? Is the Favor item that gives +15% minion dodge any good for, say, a minion build Oak? Is stacking dodge a good strat?
Also, if two people have a lousy connection between them, then that lags the whole game, right? So even if your pings looks fine, the ping between some others might be to blame.

Items can add quite a bit of damage, especially minion damage for generals.
If you look at the top custom players almost all of them are premade teams that beat up random noobs. Personally I try to be on the side of the game host. That solves the problem 90% of the time.
