Looks like a largely one sided affair, though that 190 favour points is the highest I've ever seen. Now repeat that with Rook or Queen and I'll be impressed :P

Moosetek13, you might wish to be more familiar with how evolution works. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution As it stands, this mutation in this snake in itself neither confirms nor denies the Theory of Evolution. If anything, it simply is evidence by itself that mutation occurs. With regards to your question of how we are unable to witness direct evolution, we are already able to observe it. I'm at work now and don't hav
#demigodgame is the best stand-in solution.
If the number of people organising games through the main channel is small, that would work. If however, there are many players trying to arrange games with each other, a "dedicated" channel would no doubt be more organised. A dedicated channel would also help filter off all the background chatter, since those who join such a channel would do so knowing that whoever's in there are all ready to play and ought to be looking for
It's definitely a good to have. However, to my experience, players are going to still be joining games hosted by players far away from them. They could be doing so because: * They don't recognise the country code and just joined to check their ping * They are new to how multiplayer works and have no idea what ping means * They have so few players in their local community that they've got no choice but to try their luck I wonder if such a thing can possibly be m
He's just trying to voice his fill, but ZehDon is right. Sides have already been taken, flames wars begun and ended. Everyone wanting to try out or move to "the other" game would have already done so by now.
Then call it nerdsauce instead of prosauce [e digicons];)[/e]
They can call it WillyWonkasChocoFudge for all anyone cares, it'll still serve its purpose. I think it's a good stand-in solution before the team features are patched in.
I can play XCOM UFO, Terror From the Deep and Apocalypse on my XP computer using DOSBox 0.73.
So can I, but that's why I asked. It would be sweet to have a version that doesn't need DOSBox altogether.
I dunno. I'd gotten pretty used to zooming instead of using the minimap, and HoN and DotA (particularly HoN) always have that problem where you try to move to the bottom left, accidentally touch the minimap, and start heading toward the upper right, which is, quite frankly, lethal in many cases.
An excellent point. It just sucks what happens and it can usually happen when things start becoming frantic.
While your point is entirely valid, I also think that many games don't do well because they have an open beta that anyone can get in, they play the game for a few weeks and never buy it because they got what they wanted out of it for free. I recently played the beta to section 8 and I have no plans to get the game. I am in the HoN and LoL beta, but when they come out, they won't get a cent. When I preordered the Demigod game to get into the beta, when the game finally came out I felt a
Also, demigod did have an open beta. The only catch was you had to pre-order the game to get in.
In hind sight, that was what they did wrong. You can only draw in so many people in to such a beta test when the player has to commit the purchase first. The lack of volume of players meant that many of the connectivity issues remained hidden till post release.
I believe he is referring to the Stand Alone Expansion pack and the subsequent lack of updates to the original Supreme Commander once it was released.
It's very likely that Forged Alliance was already part of the plan even before SupCom was released. Regardless, my point still stands. It must make business sense to commit to any project. "Killing" a project simply isn't something to be taken so lightly. However, I realise I'm simply making a big fuss over some carefree
Has anyone used Fraps to record and replay games? Reinventing video capture seems like a waste of the devs time to me. There's much bigger issues to tackle, improving match-making, working through bugs with 1.2, hardening security against exploits and trivial game state/desync errors.
Video capturing is far, far away from the fidelity you'll get from watching a replay. Provided the replay system is properly done,
See GPG Supcom1
I play SupCom and I'm familiar with the SupCom scene. What is it you wanted me to see?
The mini map is currently overlaid on the game area and not within some UI panel. If it is clickable, it might result in mis-issued orders where trying to click on something below the mini map overlay causes your Demigod to head towards where you've clicked on the mini map. ZehDon is right. Try to get used to the zoom. You'll find it very intuitive once you've gotten the hang of it.
Hello there. Do you have the same problems when you join Asian hosted games too? There is technically no specific support for any part of the world; it all depends on how many players you have from that part of the world that are actively playing. The more active players there are, the more these players will host games and thus provide low ping games to those from the same geographical location as these hosts. What time are you normally online and where are you from? There is an acti
X-Com complete
Can they confirm that Enemy Unknown, Terror From the Deep and Apocalypse can run on XP without issues?
Yup. Just kill it and start working on DG II, with many (x3) lessons learned from this attempt.
With a proper project proposal from someone, complete with timeline forecast, funding, manpower, feasibility study, features, market analysis, profit projections and all legal/ownership issues settled, perhaps. If only games were as easy to develop as "Just kill it and start working". >_
omfg. totem of revelation is one of the best starting items in the game. the ability to have +5 vision radius and see incoming ganks is worth 100x more than the measly 50g price tag. ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Shhhh! Don't give the game away. It's exactly as ShakeNBake says, that +5 visual radius just by carrying the totem is well with the 50g. I buy it every game as one of my starting items. I think many don't know about the +5 visual
For a moment there I thought you were referring to the 09/09/09 date numbering coincidence that so many people are going gaga about.
That's not true at all, it just means you have to pay attention to what she's doing more often.
Just to be objective, I think this alone is enough to discourage using her at more competitive levels of play, because players will be required to squeeze out every ounce of performance from their Demigods of choice.
Replays are definitely an essential for me. It's basically almost a required tool if anyone wants to review their in-game performance or watch how others do the things they do. Replays will also help to demonstrate certain new builds or show case cool game play.
I have one concern: does the user data used to suggest players to play with also take into account the potential ping? It'll be ineffective if all the like-minded players are too far away anyway (granted, there's nothing easy we can do to alleviate that at the moment).
I just played a game against skill opponents and there was this UB who stacked HP very early in the game. He had over 5k HP before we hit mid game. At that point, together with his Rook team mate, we couldn't bump them off the fortitude flag (it's the flag that got his HP over 5k with the help of HP items). It was a very slow descent to defeat at that point and I found that I could do little to stop such a tactic with QoT. I'm with the_hunger in that I find QoT unique and love how I c
It happens on Crucible as well, I remember seeing it on the gold flag.
It seems to me that before they got around to fixing these issues, there were numerous fixes (or attempts at least) to stabilize the connectivity. So yes, comparing connectivity to the Sedna priest bug, I would rank the Sedna priest bug as of lower priority. Regarding the 3 items, it cannot be any clearer in the patch log. They were removed to be fixed, not instead of . So it's 1 month since their removal and they're still at it. I'd rather they take their tim
