Reg + DA can be incredibly lethal if played correctly. Reg fights on a flag he owns, constantly throwing mines to his side, then DA ports in and immediately swaps, then he spines and warp strikes as reg drops another 3 mines. The burst damage is so great people usually can't port out. I like 2v2s a lot but no one plays them
That's true, but when my teammates have 5 games of experience combined, I'm not going to b

I wouldn't even say client server is a must, just stable net code. I'd say still about 50% of my games end in a random drop. There are plenty of state of the art games out there that don't rely on client-server and make p2p work. P2p is just dandy with me if it worked in Demigod. Currently there are nine pieces of equipment that are regularly bought. 1. Unbreakable Boots - everyone gets this. 2. Banded Armor - everyone gets this 3
Hah, like I'm fussy. I'll play in just about any game that I think I have a snowball's chance of winning. So basically anything except where I have two new teammates who have chosen Regulus and Demon Assassin. On a side note, I'm sorry to those two new guys that wanted to play Regulus and Demon Assassin today. No way in hell I was going to suffer through that when the opposing team has chosen Oak, Erebus and UB.
First: I never say 'It's just a game.' I play every game as best I can all the time Second: I'm not a super-pro and can make mistakes. I have bad games with my best DGs. And sometimes I want to play someone that I'm not very good with, just for fun. Third: If I make a mistake and get a flurry of "OMG YOU'RE THE WORST FUCKING PLAYER EVER" and "Well this game is over" and "Sorry, I got noobs on my team" etc, my desire to play and win goes to z
I don't think Sigils affect the gameplay nearly as much as capture locks. Granted the richer (i.e. winning) team will have more frequent access to them. But they do not intrinsically favor the winning players more or one demigod over another.
Goddamnit, can we please make the numbers go high enough so I can be ranked?
May I humbly add that as Sedna you can keep your monks with you, but send a Yeti over to your teammate to help them out instead.
For all generals, I'm pretty sure the best investment for your starting money are monks. They are heal bots that will keep you on the front lines long after the assasins have run out of mana and health. Sedna is an odd bird. She is tier 1 in terms of survivability. She can be just as unkillable as Oak or Erebus because she can sport massive health and a massive heal rate. On the other hand, you won't influence the game by killing other DGs, only preventing your
For my Sedna it usually goes (in order) 1. Unbreakable (health + mana) 2. Scalemail (cheap HP) 3. Vlemish (all the mana I need) 4. Nimroth (all the armor I need and extra HP) 5. Hauberk (extra HP for cheap) The rest of my gold is spent for monks and bishops, citadel upgrades, sigils, teleports and locks. As Orion says, at high levels, it's more important to control flags and protect against ganks. Game p
I think a bit of it stems from the fact that the game was utterly unplayable at launch. Those who are left in the community are the masochists that stuck with it. In the early days you could spend a full night trying to play a single full game and be unsuccesful. The state of the game has now reached the point where it's relatively reliable, but there are people who feel entitled because they suffered through those first ugly days. There's a feeling that if the game ha

I think the quote's a bunch of garbage. . . I strongly doubt that Stardock and GPG are making marketing and sales decisions based on a handful of people complaining on their forums. Honestly there were only about 4 or 5 people actively complaining in the now-closed thread. I just cannot see this conversation happening: A: "Well the patch is out now, we'll see if people activate Occulus" B: "Uh oh, there are five people complaining on the forums."<br
Silence really requires a two helm build, IMHO. That's its biggest problem. Since priests give a percentage heal instead of a fixed HP heal and Sedna has the best priests because of HW2, every bit of HP you can stack is worth it. Are there awesome times for Silence? Absolutely. But they are much much more rare than Heal or Pounce. And we are talking about an ability that starts at a mana cost (800) higher than Pounce IV (775) and Heal IV (750).
This is my current Sedna build. It sacrifices early pounce levels and demigod killing power for healing and HPS. The build is designed to provide excellent support, hold flags and draw attacks and mana from the opponent. You will likely win games based on war score alone by denying flags. As with any Sedna build, if you have bad teammates it won't matter what you do. You will only be a serious threat to other demigods after level 10.<
Played my first games against the DA last night. My impression was that, outside of the swap ability, he's mostly harmless. But I do have some issues with him: 1. He's too damned small. He's impossible to heal or shield in a big fight because you can never pick him out. I swear he's only slightly bigger than a minotaur. Picking him out to attack is tough as well. If you're fighting against a character with a bigger model, like Rook, Sedna, QoT
Last night I saw a DA swap positions with an enemy while standing on six mines. It was ugly.
Needless to say, QoT needs a lot of minion help too. So I would consider that problem independent of Sedna's Yeti problem. If anything, though, QoT is the one who would have the least to worry about calm because her minions fight at range and she can always recast hers. So the chances of hers getting converted are much less than Erebus or Oak. But QoT needs serious Shambler help, I will not deny that.
Well everyone knows that Sedna's Yetis are a bit of a waste. She has too many other good abilities and they are too expensive and fragile to make a difference. Therefore I present a completely different alternative: Calm: Enemy minions lose the will to fight and potentially join forces with Sedna Level 1: Enemy minion/creep attack speed reduced by 10%; 10% chance /sec that minion/creep changes ownership to Sedna. Sedna may control up to 2 extra minions.&
The only 'problem' that Sedna has is that she can't carry a team. If you have an elilte Erebus, Oak or UB on your team and two other mediocre/poor players you're usually fine. If you have an elite Sedna on your team and two other mediocre/poor players you're usually in deep trouble. This is mostly because she lacks a stun and AoE. If the other team gets a lead in warscore, even the best Sedna will not be able to deal with the creeps coming in because she can't kill the
UB + Erebus with the double-stun combo is probably the sickest duo I know (swarm-stun-bite-grasp-spit-ooze-die). But Sedna and Oak is very rough too. The first combo will kill you very quickly and the second combo cannot be killed. It would be an interesting collision of the irresistable force against the immovable object.
For what it's worth, I like this build. I'm just not very good at it :p
Rook has the most advancing power of anything short of a full minion EB build. He can push the flag towers from the corner once he gets trebuchet, after level 8 you have to pay constant attention to him to protect your lane.
That's correct. I should have made clear that this was early game. Once he gets his trebuchet, he can tear down towers from a safe distance. But a pure tower rook needs to stay close to his
Pure ooze, which I try from time to time and usually fail at, is hard because you're much more fragile than you think. It takes extreme patience until you're really strong enough to fight any other DG 1 on 1. The amount of damage you lose from not taking spit is remarkable in the early part of the game. You need to conserve your HP so you don't need to spend money on potions or return to the crystal. You're only going to be significatly stronger once you have HP and ar
What CelMare said. Oftentimes Rook, especially a tower build, is easily ignored. Even if he's holding the fort flag, your team can easily win the game by holding mana and the experience flag on Cat. This is especially true if they have Rook and Sedna comitted to the same lane. Another problem with Rook's lack of mobility is that he doesn't have much advancing power. Even if he takes down the tower on the side lanes, if he pushes towards the middle or down to the
So as worthless as the Sedna is early game
Care to explain that? Sedna is awesome early game. She can hold a lane by herself for seven levels before ever being concerned about heading into town. It's actually late game where her lack of AoE starts to be a handicap.
