"TB already has a pretty strong early game." Uhm no, if you think he's strong early game go play erb on prison 1v1 or vs ub and see how strong he is, I've been playing a few pantheon 1v1's and if you think TB is strong early game compared to all the top tier demigods, you are out of your mind.

"I wouldn't mind more dmg for fireball [e digicons]:)[/e] but I don't think we should change his other skills imho." Fireball definitely needed a buff, since the damage difference between ice and fire is not that great when you add in all the micro if you go total fire tb, not to mention the pathetic dmg payoff if you spent 4 points in deep freeze then got the synergy at the end. You haven't played enough TB. His circle of fire for instance is very small and easily
^^ This, the way mods were handled in demigod are god awful. FPS games learned a long time ago that you have autodownload mods when the person tried to connect to the game. Hell even starcraft did this and that game is over 10 years old! Some days I wonder what game developers have been smoking, its like they forgot the last 10 years of advances in games.
@izuz You may be right about base speed, in the modified TB I've been playing with now, I've increased fire damage as said, increased slightly the area of circle of fire to 12 from 10, and have been playing with fire aura, instead of 5%/10/15, its 10/15/20 but that may be too much, so I may change it to 7/10/15. I'm wondering if circle of fire or fire nova need slight dmg buffs, not sure yet. But I knew fireball definitely needed a decent buff, with HP stacking and sigils
UB need to learn how to use foul grasp when someone is portalling out, UB just sits there and attacks when he could get a kill by stun cancelling the person portalling out.
AI needs to recognize when not to use a portal scroll I notice that the AI many times will have significant health still and port home. Next thing the AI needs to know is when their portal in their base is being capped in cataract to teleport there. Also adding an element of "Teleport cancel" might be a good idea but probably take a while to tweak right.
Increase fire damage to 300/600/900/1200/ and 1700 with cold linked No point in spending all those points if you're not going to get decent bonus damage on maximum. Also make TB's base speed the fastest in the game.
Truth be told lots of things about demigod are badly designed, this comes from releasing the game well before it was ready (proof: all the networking problems on release). One of the reason's cataract is played so much is the length of the game's can become excrutiatingly long on bigger maps, and the fact that online play breaks down and starts to severely lag with more then 6 players. The networking in demigod is atrocious so people tend to play cataract. On larger maps l
It's most likely the video card, the GTX 280 and 8800 series of nvidia cards are slightly buggy, you will get a blue screen and the error will be in the nv_disp (I can't remember the spelling) driver. Turn down the graphics options and it should make it go away, usually the driver/card crashes under heavy load because of heat, IMHO try to see what the heat on your graphics card is and maybe down clock it a bit if you know how to do that.
Contrast that with your paragraph in your first post stating
You're quoting my argument out of context, all my other posts say the same thing - notice in the OP I said : The counter-intuitive solution is to enable pirated versions to get updates and to play online with legit players. IMHO not only will you boost the amount of players online you also perform what I call "the microsoft strategy" - i.e. piracy HELPS because it creates a positive feed
I disagree about regulus, he looks BA with his goggles. BTW reg and I have the same hairstyle
I agree I just feel regulus feels out of place in the game, like the backstory with his wings, and the goggles bit feels a bit weird. Either way he looks like a dork in the character selection screen, he's well drawn, but reg has horrible fashion sense.
The art direction for demigod is good, but I think some of the character designs are a bit weird (speficically lord erb and regulus). Lord erb looks just to stupid. And regulus character design makes no sense, I really liked some of the models in God of War and bayonetta, IMHO they look like they belong in a game like demigod.
@Teseer But fire TB has speed buff I think people under-estimate speed buff of fire tb with mates in a battle, tb fire /w speed buff on cataract in the right hands is pretty deadly. I think the biggest problem with TB is that hist first frost nova doesn't come at an early enough level, maybe I'm wrong but I always feel I get frost nova later then needed since most of the time towers are gone by the time I get it or it's much less useful since you have catapults by then.
If you suddenly allow as many people to use your servers to play unlimited games at absolutely no cost, you will go bankrupt. When Demigod was initially released there were far far more pirates online to such a degree that it brought down the servers (and, iirc, helped cause a lot of the initial favor problems etc). So niz's view of pirates not harming the company is completely absurd. Not only are they taking the product for nothing, but they also are using the compa
Either way, your argument is ridiculous at best.
My argument that growing the player community to enhance the experience of paying customers in multiplayer is ridiculous? Right, try again dave. Lets try to stay on topic here. The main argument is that allowing unofficial versions to play online will benefit everyone since most people buy the game for single player (according to stardockian

Demigod uses the same base netcode as supcom does, it's the exact same engine. Demigod was built from the supcom engine This is why you can "Strategic zoom" in Demigod just like in Supreme commander 1 and upcoming 2. I pointed out
Niz just shup up because I will rape you. Starcraft is a crap game, Dota wasent made by blizzard and blizzard isnt such a good developer as you claim. Also the networking engine was not the moho engine(supcoms) but Raknet.
Sorry your wrong. They didn't do proper QA and released a broken game on release, and then turn around and complain about pirates. People pirate exactly for this reason - a bunch o
@abuggerbhedige Quote brad Wardell We’ve learned that you can’t treat networking as just another thing to plug in like you would a sound library or even a 3D engine. It’s a whole different animal. With Elemental (our next game), it’s single-player focused but its MP will be server based (and I mean we literally host the game). After Demigod, I don’t ever want to hear the words “socket” or “port” again.
Sounds like the OP needs to start a non-profit games publisher to fund his dream model of gaming development. How would you fund these games? Freeware is created for marketing purposes or through private funds/personal development time due to a love of gaming. Neither source will pay the costs of a big-budget title. "In Frogboy's own words, SD makes games for profits and not to be declared cool." Frogboy also thinks devleopers who complain about piracy are whiners, he's been starting to come around IMHO. He realizes that treating your customers like numbers and abusable serfs is not sound business strategy. Frogboy admitted to the bad design decisions and lack of testing demigod here. Quote brad Wardell We’ve learned that you can’t treat networ
@takashi_k Maybe you're just a whiner? Kicking is nothing personal, man up and grow a pair. People just want to even out the teams most of the time.
You forget most people don't read game names at all and will just keep joining, sorry but your suggestion is full of fail.
@deathadder builds in demigod aren't hard by a longshot they are just memorizing what to buy, and choosing between a couple favor items thats it. The real issue with newb games is that lack of teamwork and paying attention with portal scrolls to help team mates. Demigod is a team game, and it really sucks when your team mate just goes off by himself to creep or sits at flags when your partner is in danger. I wouldn't mind such games if there was unranked option
@shade it's not most games played, if you look at the chart it's the # of wins each demigod has. It clearly shows in a statistical way that some characters win by a large % much more then others (i.e. they are predominately better then others).
Quoting niz032, reply 9 IMHO I think dev's need to go back to their roots and just accept gamers who don't pay and that they should be honored and take pride in the fact that people enjoy and play their product, instead of playing a mean corporate (expletive). I'm sure that "pride" will mean a lot to them as they're evicted from thier homes because they can't afford their rent
