We have 1.5 Terabyte hard drives for less then $100 we don't NEED the cloud for anything thanks. The only thing the cloud would be useful for would be consolidating patches and mods, but the "cloud" is no different then a fancy battle.net. I really hate the term "the cloud", the cloud is not something new that's for certain.

[quote who="Frogboy" reply="47" id="2518330"] All because of copyright monopoly, if GPG is unwilling to fix demigod there would be other people in the community willing to do so but they are barred from doing so because of stupid ass laws like copyright and the corporate serfdom model of software ownership, that is - license, never own Is something stopping you from making your own game? No one is forced to copyright what they make. I look for

If demigod sold well, why is support so shitty? It doesn't compute. If demigod was really raking in the $ the patches should be a lot more frequent and updates should be a lot more frequent. But they are not, Demigod comes off as shovelware, a game that made perhaps a moderate profit or recovered it's development costs but not much else. Since after market support has been so awful (still critical game state errors and bugs, freezing and crashing to desktop once in a w

@ramw2 I could care less about what a bunch of greedy thugs thinks. We have billionaires and homeless people living side by side, captialism is not a just amoral system, and anyone who thinks so needs his head read, this world is filled with assholes, that is, us, and since too many people are assholes, I could care less what one of the most greedy individiualistic, selfish, people on the face of the earth think. It's the people that make the world a good or bad pl
The real issue is that DG didn't spend enough time in development and was released too early. there was simply not enough playtesting, almost every issue in demigod stems from not having baked the game long enough. HP stacking isn't so bad, BECAUSE the item slots are limited, if you stack HP that means you're sacrificing that slot, people forget this, the reason why demigods slots are so limited is that it forces you to make choices. And believe it or not, some characte
"I think that focusing solely on top tier characters is a really bad idea, because it promotes single-dimensional gameplay." All the gameplay is based on the underlying mathematics, if the math is off statistically no matter what you do there will always be an objective trend towards loss rather then wins. You cannot defeat the laws of mathematics.
IMO if they should DLC maps not demigods, no one is going to play a game with new demigods if they are fairly powerful or top tier if everyone can't pick them, they'll be more whining. The truth is GPG made a game that was underfunded, understaffed and under QA'd released and unfinished game and are now trying to fund it after the fact - lesson learned - don't release unfinished games, period, if I were GPG I would have not advertised demigod at all, I would have looked at the state o
@kolenel_klink If they really are trying to milk what little community they have for $ then they are douchebags and demigod rightfully deserves its place as a gaming abortion that was underfunded by a group of inexperienced and incompetent developers who did not do their due diligence on product quality and qa and deserve all the criticisms their customers throw at them.
"The point was to see how many still play the game;" This is what server logs are for, or add an simple ping whateverstardockgpg.com server with info everytime someone starts demigod, it's not hard to track when demigod is run, especially if it was bought through impulse they could surreptitiously record times and dates everytime demigod is run the time played, their IP address, and transmit it back for statistical purposes.
@ramw2 Piracy is equivalent of renting the game, trying it out to see if you like it. In console land renting games has been since there since the beginning of time, piracy is the equivalent of try before you buy, if lots of people pirate your game it does not mean they like it enough to buy it. Notice there are other games more pirated but are financially successful, so blaming piracy is idiotic. Like I said before, the problem is with us as human beings, we need
Demigods low sales were due to lack of quality not pirates ram, sorry. Those who stuck around and supported DG even though it's probably a game that deserves to fail (because lets face it, it has serious issues in serving diverse gaming community beyond the multiplayer core). A little more time and wisdom is needed, game dev's are an ambitious bunch and development of a game does not always work out as planned, its hard and high risk, you don't blame your customers when your gam

Except if you look at the # of games of my opponents many of them had over 300 games, hardly newbs you can check yourself.
@maff86 Demigod is mostly about HP stacking, and selecting the right demigod counters. I would force all newbies to pick erebus and play just erebus until they got good, then UB, then OAK, then ROOK. Rook is a counter to UB provided you have the right team-demigod mates, it always depends on what the matchup is demigod is mostly about picking the right demigods vs what your opponents team has chosen, you can predict the outcomes of games a good percent of the time by just
@irahi Stats are bullshit and you know it, all those games were pantheon games, I looked at your games in pantheon and you had a LOT of non-stacked games, look at my pantheon games and look at the top tier demigods I was up against, to say I have "low level play" because of my pantheon stats is bullshit and you know it, almost every pantheon game I'm getting oak+ereb or a combination thereof, also trying to play fortress prison with oak+ereb with the setup of one of my pantheon games
"The point is not that TB does not need help. The point is that those particular buffs are batshit insane." And that's not what my point was about you're pulling it off topic. My comment about TB is a bit underpowered generally compared to most demigods and he practically requires a good player at the helm to be any kind of effective in team games or else its like having a newb playing Queen your team. And in 1v1 TB is basically instant lose against many demigo
@matchboxmatt I agree 100% the biggest problem is many pro's are just asses who don't do anything to tell people what they should be doing so they don't learn, if you want them to learn say something else stuff a sock in it :)

"f you expect to tank another demigod with TB, I think I can see why you might be having problems." But there is no other option in 1v1 but to tank directly which makes 1v1 for TB on maps like prison impossible against equally skilled players. That's broken fundamentally. Lets not also forget we have abundant statistical evidence that certain characters are objectively better then others based on the numbers alone. <img class="quote" src="http://forums.demigodthe
