Don't think this has been mentioned before.....how about bad picks on the racial abilities screen that give you points to spend elsewhere ? Maybe sacrifice sensors for speed ? This could be difficult to game balance, though. And is basically a Moo2 ripoff... :)

I had exactly the same thing happen; in the end I just copied the MP3's into the Galciv playlist directory and point the game at it and it uses a default playlist. Works fine !
Astax - if you don't want to have your population split like this, you can load the colony ship in the normal way and launch it. Then, just move it back onto your star system and choose the planet you want to colonise. :)
I think it's by the text colour. Certainly when I put a deal on the table and the text is yellow, they reject it. If the text is green, they like it........ :)
Just an idea I had about the setup screen. You can adjust the likelihood of finding habitable planets (e.g. abundant) and the way the stars cluster (e.g. tight clusters) with the BonusPak, I'd quite like to see something that can adjust the amount of stars on the map. Maybe sometimes play with loads of stars with few habitable planets, or maybe with a few stars with loads of habitable planets. Perhaps call it "star density"...... ....unless there's a way to do this already that I've missed ?
I too had a Spectrum 48K...anyone remember anyone of Julian Gollop's games ? He's probably more famous for forming Mythos and doing "XCOM, Enemy Unknown" but he did a couple of fantastic strategy games for the Speccy, "Rebelstar Raiders" (turn based tactical combat and it's easy to see the inspiration behind the XCOM missions) and Chaos, a wizardy-type-summony-battly game. Who would've thought that such humble introductions to the world of strategy games would lead me to get up at 5:01am GMT to
Sith, you had me *worried* mate.... ;)
I believe what's going to happen is that as of 12.01am EST (?) you'll be able to purchase it HERE, using the purchase button and choosing direct download. It will then e-mail you the serial number so you can download the game while you wait for your CD. At least, that's what I'm planning to do. Now all I've got to do is figure out the difference between EST and GMT ! :notsure:
29...30 in April. Noooooooooooooooo ! :D
I must agree, the numbers don't seem to add up. Social is set to 18% and is 94bc, which would indicate Gov expenditure of 522 bc (since 18% of 522 is 94.) Similarly, Research of 41% being 276bc would indicate Gov Expenditure of 673 ?! And if you look at the overall spend rate of 53%, with a total income of 1197bc indcluding trade, shouldn't that be 634 ?! :p
