I am using SDC 1.04.187 and have updated Galciv to 1.05.071 on a WinME machine. My problem is that whenever I try to archive Galciv I get the following error messages. 1) SDCentral caused an error in user32.dll 2) SDCentral caused an error in mshtml.dll Could someone plz help me? Oh, and don't tell me to unsinstall and resinstall cos I did that TWICE already. Once without and once including manually deleting all the folders on the filesystem.
OK, thanks. I'll try that. And I always thought updates are to IMPROVE the game... ;p
and updating GalCiv to 1.05.071 I get exception messages stating that errors occurred in MSVCRT.dll and MSHTML.dll when I try to archive the application wit or without additional files. What the hell is wrong here?! Until now everything went smooth as silk in terms of updating. Someone any ideas? System is WinME on a PIII notebook. [Message Edited] [Message Edited]
Somehow I think archiving all the updates makes me spend more money on CDs then on the game itsself. *LOL*
Hmm, the Shadow Government was erradicated. So that would make them a loser party. ;p
Looks like one could try to play the style of the Shadows then with all that talking others into starting war with each other.
Fema, isn't that funny? You can DL kiddyporn from eDonkey or Kazaa all day if you'd like but for a game that is rated 'E' for 'Everyone' you have to send a copy of your ID to purchase it just cos Die große Schere known as FSK wont accept those ratings before reviewing it. It would indeed be funny if it wasn't so sad.
" Asteroid fields - Penalize movement while moving through this stuff, maybe even "dense" fields that prevent movement. Possibly even allow ships to hide in them? Nebulae - Same as asteroids but with defense penalties Radiation fields - Inflict gradual damage to any ships within Fixed Wormholes " Nice, but didn't you watch the old Star Trek series? "Galactic crack has a nice ring to it" Heh, yeah! Crack Civilization sound not so good. :p
Bonus Pack question: Now that I have the game I saw via SDC that the current BP is 1.0.004. Since I haven't been on the board for a while let me ask if there have been BPs 1.0.001-1.0.003 and if so, are those included in BP 1.0.004? If not, how do I get them.
Why is the update estimated as 4,07 MB and when I archive it it's 455 MB on my HDD? No, id did not shift komma or such. The archive IS 455 MB.
Btw. are the mods that can be found in the library secition of this site included in the downloadables from SDC or do I have to dl and install them manually?
This is SO cool! OkaySoft just delivered and I'm currently downloading the Bonus n stuff... Can't wait till evening when I'll have the opportunity to play.
Follow my above link. You said that instaed of having Pak 1.01, 1.02..., 1.07 dowloadable with Stardock, you will have one patch for download(1.1) that includes all of the small paks. I guess THAT'S what he meant.
Hmmm... Read this thread's post #78 and follow ups. Perhaps you're right. http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=21238#bottompage
Like stated in brackets on above's post: Germany. If you speak german you might try purchasing it here. www.okaysoft.de
MY retailer has 28th march up as delivery date. (Germany)
Oh and Frogboy: Thanks for making it possible to DL the BonusPaks after all. I see this as a major contribution to customer satisfaction of those who don't have inet access. This proves another time that you really care about ALL the people who would like to play the game. One more thing tho: If you would like to limit DLs from people who might have a pirated copy why not let people enter their serial before they actually get to the DL page? Just a thought. :)
Yes. I read in another thread that via SDC you get smaller updates/bonuses more frequently. The dowloadable patches will be available less frequently cos they will wait till there is a significant number of updates that they then pack into the DLable patch. So basically it's something like SDC: day2 after game release: update1, day 12: update2, day 21 update3 DL: day 21: update1+2+3 got it? ;)
You can archive the BP to an archive(no .zip)file as long as Stardock Central is installed on your downloading PC. And on your play PC it has to be installed to errrr... unarchive it to the game directory as far as I have understood the whole thingy. Hope that helps.
*LOL* I guess this would be part of the Computer Virus Outbreak event mentioned earlier in this thread. Another idea: Your leader's stepmom visits. Effect: Dramatic decrease of morale. Countermeasures: Building a starbase that hosts a superstar contest and giving her a free ticket and backstage pass.
The prospect of having to start a new game to let the BonusPak content kick in is a bit disturbing but I think more or less inevitable so I guess I can live with that. Just have to remind myself to get the first BP BEFORE starting to play.
Ah! Here it is. Bumpedybump
