A Typical Day in the Temples of Stardock Her Holiness KarmaGirl butted the cigarette in an ashtray. She grasped her bottle of scotch and took a quick swig. She placed the bottle on the table, shakily. Pushing her tortured blonde hair away from her eyes, she lit another cigarette and inhaled heavily. “What went wrong Elfie?” The Goddess CariElf sipped her sparkling spring water, and looked out the window moodily. “Wrong? What went wrong? What’s been going righ

Well it's been confirmed that I'm not a RTS player. I lost a game of Rise of Nations, and it was only the very first training level. I just can't handle the: you need more farms, to build them you need more workers, you've only got one town centre so you can't build more farms, the library needs updating, you need to build an army, but you haven't researched the right advance, you need more wood, and what about money?, you're being attacked, you need more soldiers, your library is bu

Now look: this thread has already come up with 2 sensible ways in which the US political system could be immeasurably improved. (1) Make voting compulsory. (2) Allow the whole world to have a postal vote. Kit: I watched GWB's address last year (which was all about foreign affairs). This year, I didn't watch, but I (obviously wrongly) thought that with all of the world's problems and the social, environmental and economic problems in the US, the 'problem' with gay marriag

I am so depressed. I have just read a summary of George W. Bush's State of the Union address. I hadn't previously been interested in The Political Machine. Now, however, I think I will play the game just to see how political candidates in America are selected and then become President. I feel sure that it will be an education. I wonder whether Stardock can nail the intricacies of the US political system? Yours in commiseration, Killa.

Warning: Following is a novel. If you get distracted easily don't even attempt to read it. Backplot: Many of the Special Forces were once GROSS pirates. KitWarrior was a pirate mate who disappeared one day. It became apparent that the ANZACs had abducted him for reasons we won't go into, and took him to the sacred world of Skowbo II to dispose of him 'humanely'. Finally, Wombie decided to form a mission to hunt for Kit. Disclaimer: None of the characters in this story actuall

Sorry...I've been super silent lately. After my nervous breakdown I only just escaped recapture by hiding out in a wombat burrow for a few days and then slipping across the border and ... Actually, Xmas and a birthday and flying to Adelaide in the next day, together with work, have taken their toll. I shall toast you all on Xmas day and hope everyone has an enjoyable festive season /Hanakah /holidays. Should be back by NYE. Cheers to all the Special Forces, Ponti

Killa Koala was a lonely orphan child...oh, sorry, wrong story. Let me think… In the early days, Killa began his career as a Lancer- he was an expert with a spear and devastating high-jump attacks. However, as his knees became rheumatic, and it must be said, after one awkward moment in particular with a Jedi and his saber, Killa forswore the dropbear tactics that had worked so admirably since he climbed off his mother’s back. Killa was somewhat at a loss as to his next clas
