There's more to the Gray_Lensman than E.E."Doc" Smith's character, heh, heh, 52 here ~SDC~
Gray_Lensman
What's even funnier is that the Yor were duped by a "RubberDucky", roflmao... heh, heh, heh ~SDC~
LOL, kinda like a gang of bungling serial rapists... :) ~SDC~
Reminds me of an old expression I used to hear: "The beatings will continue until morale improves..." ;) ~SDC~
Within the SD Central screen under the software button, where you go to get the updates currently... Instead of left clicking to update the file... Right-Click instead and you will be presented with a pop-up box with "Download and Archive" as an option... Hope this helps. :) ~SDC~
I have been playing a game with the latest update (v1.01a.009). I have been exeriencing game slow downs after approx 3 to 4 turns... However, just a while ago, I had just loaded a savegame but then left the game for some other activities for about an hour, and when I came back to it, it was operating like molasses. I do not have a scheduler or other background programs running which would cause this, leading me to come to the conclusion that the current version of the game does in fact have a
Now, if you are still having trouble logging in... Go next to Tools...Edit Stardock.net Account... and fill out that info also, using the your original login information again. Good Luck. By the way, when Stardock central actually indicates logged in, Click the Software button under the "File" above and you will see your versions of software installed vs. available. Just click on software you do not have yet, and the left side should light up... I would be sure to have the Bon
Wampyre, pull down tools, then register products... fill out the form using your logon registration info nickname=Wampyre, email address etc. and of course the CD key is the serial number. Make sure the upper box says Drengin.net subscriptions also... ~SDC~
No sense everyone getting their hair in a dither here. Wampyre probably has some left over frustrations from messing with MOO3 first, then he gets this game and it has some frustrating features too. Let him get the update and try it, then lets welcome him back with a little understanding... :) ~SDC~
Thanks, for the quick response... I had not downloaded StarDock Central yet, which explains why I couldn't find it anywhere. ~SDC~
While perusing the game examples in the Encyclopedia, I read that there was a Windowed version of the game available as a free download. As this would facilitate having a tech chart, and maybe the pdf version of the manual available in a quick separate window, instead of the Alt-Tab sequence, I would very much like to find and download this particular feature. btw, Thanks for the Great Game and more inportantly, the Great tech support. :)
Very Well Said "Mythor" and I might add that if GalCiv at some point develops a tactical combat mode, it'll eat MOO3 for lunch !!!
As an added thought, I really wonder whether MOO3 was released prematurely to try to beat GalCiv to the punch, in order to garner more sales as the first release, rather than as a sloppy leftovers release!
MOO3 is BetaWare or WishWare, which ever way you want to look at it. If it ever lives up to its' grandiose design criteria, it will then possibly be a great game. Not having a Mid-Turn Save routine is a total bomb IMHO. To design a huge space strategy game deliberately without a Mid-Turn Save routine borders on Idiocy!
Kinda ridiculous anyway, requiring a CD key to download a patch, even Microsoft's not that paranoid!
I've been struggling with MOO3 for over 2 weeks and have finally given up. The final straw came when I read that the designers deliberately skipped over a mid-turn save feature! That is sheer idiocy for a strategy game with such a huge scope. Anyhow, based on what I have read here, GalCiv is a much more refined/finished product, so I have one reserved at my nearest Electronic Boutique store to be picked up tomorrow. Guess I'll make a couple of coffee coasters out of the 2 MOO3 CDs.
Game requirements list a Pentium IV as a requirement. Is this an absolute requirement, or a recommended requirement? Point Blank... Will it run on a Pentium 2 MMX system (128 meg memory)?
