Even more confusing??? Oh Belgium!

I'll stop by as soon as I have a chance. Thanks.
FYI, I have the same problem on XP (see Game Lock Up thread) so it is not isolated to Vista. Also, Version 1.6 Beta 1 did not solve the issue. But I'm confident the problem will be eventually found and solved.
Hey there. Just want to let you know I joined your empire. Hopefully we can find out what the question is. It could be a little while for me to post some results due to a DA bug that is killing my games right now.
New Update: Well, it looks like the lock up was only delayed until later. The same problem is reoccuring at a later point in the game. I'll send the saved game off with a description.
Update: I've installed Version 1.6 Beta 1 and that seems to be working so far. There has not been a reoccurence yet which includes the saved games where it locked up. Thanks for the help.
I saw the old sound drivers after I posted and updated them. Same result. I'm going to try the 1.6 Beta 1 and see if that resolves the issue.
When I hit the turn button, the turn button disappears, but I am able to move the cursor. However, the map does not scroll and no other buttons work. I usually wait about 5 minutes to see if it's just a long wait or if it's "stuck". After 5 minutes, I may be able to bring up the task manager (works 75% of the time). I then kill the game (listed as "not responding"). I then restart the same saved game and it repeats 100% of the time. I kill the game again if I can and restart with an older
A regularly occuring error that is taking place for me is when I load a game and complete the first turn after loading, the game locks up when I end my turn (hit the turn button). However, I am able to reload from an autosave and continue from that point. Then when I reload, the lock up may or may not occur again. It has happened 3 times in the current game I'm playing on a gigantic map. As a side note, there are fleets of ships near the edge of the map (or off the map based on the "gift" of
Just a test to see if it worked
I just got flagged for a cheat code in Version 1.2 Beta 1 game. I just use the standard Drath race, but there was a "Custom Race" AI in the game somehow. What's worse is that I got my butt kicked in the game and I got flagged for cheating.
Just a quick questions. My defeat didn't show up as a loss. Is there any particular reason for that?
Well, it looks like we're fourth now.
Well, hopefully I won't get that medal!
Does Cntl-N even count your score in the Metaverse? I thought my very first game I did that, but it never counted on the Metaverse.
I like alliances on certain games. It just depends on the situation. But I always break them before the end of the game, especially if they stop giving me stuff.
Well, Maso is kicking my butt. I do great until I'm against one other empire (usually I have only a slight lead at this point). Then it all falls apart. Any ideas where I'm going wrong? I went back to a crippling level after that and the difference between the two levels is incredible.
I also use the flipping to quicken military victory on the larger maps. But I agree that the culture bonuses should just add, not multiply. That would help considerably.
Well, I think it's time for me to start trying out maso level. Wish me luck.
I havn't played many huge and gigantic galaxies (old comp is really slow on those sizes), but when I have (crippling level), I tend to crank 50-50 military/tech for a while and seems to work for me qutie well. It does get quite difficult to keep track of things so I tend to use some scrap paper to keep track of items. I don't do constructors early until my planets have fusion power plants on them, then I switch on some. As for maso, I'm still working on my strategy on that since the A
It does seem high. Capping it will certainly alter some strategies out there if it does happen.
I've seen both, fully loaded planets and bare ones after a flip (in the same system no less).
Just watch now. They'll move right before you're ready to attack LOL
Ah, the force is powerful, but beware of the dark side.
The Force in Middle Earth may indeed have unknown consequences that we cannot forsee. Especially if The One Ring finds this power and is able to use it to its benefit. The Dark Side is a powerful foe and The One Ring would seek to use it against all that is good.
