Well, I finally finished a game, which was a medium galaxy, but I was using the 1.09b3 beta with the cheat mode turned on, and I did use the cheats from time to time. So I didn't even try to submit it to the metaverse. PLus I have most of mods added into my data folder.

Let's nor forget about the neutral choices. Even though I would like to play most of the good choices, sometimes they're just too costly to use; like saving some colonist would cost you -415 bc or something like that. Most often, the neutral choices will give you a good option, like +1% to research or morale. Heck, sometimes even the evil choices seem good without bothering your conscience too much. What happens if you go totally neutral? Would you receive any bonuses?
One thing about registering with the Dregnin.net. After you register, you need to go to your options and select the receive updates option, or you'll never get the 1.09 upgrade. It took me several days to figure that one out, and no one mentioned it. I now have the upgrade since Monday night, but haven't been able to play the game since then. Hopefully tonight.
I know there are plenty of mods on this website, but I was wondering if there were any other "unofficial" mods out there that I can dowload.
I have a question about downloading also. Not the game, which I bought in a store. But about Dregin.net. I paid my $30, got the message from Stardock. I put in my registration number. And was even able to look at the Dregin.net screen. But is there anything from Dregin.net that I need to download? That's what I"m confused about.
16? Hmm, I didn't actually bother to count them, it just looked like 20 to me. So unless I"m in a war, I should cut down the number of non-constructor or colony ships in orbit. I guess I can do that. I need more constructors built so I can upgrade my starbases anyway.
Why is there a limit to the number of ships in orbit? I can understand if it was a one planet system, but in my current game, I have a system with 5 planets, and I'm using all of 5 of them. I should be able to have more than just 20 ships in orbit at a time. Is this something that can be fixed in the update?
Ok, thanks for the info. I'll try the technologists next time I start a new game.
How do you speed up the time it takes to research? I know there's a +25% for a research lab, but what else can do the trick?

Ditto on that. Can't stop playing the game.
I wasn't having that problem until I started playing the gigantic galaxy. NOw I save my game every so often so I don't lose too much when my game quits on me.
Ok, I"ll try that. I did notice that some of my planets had low morale, so I tried switching to morale-boosting productions, such as entertainment networks and virtual reality centers. I guess in this case it was too little, too late.
Well, I say comparing people to Hitler definitely was wrong. Maybe it would have been appropriate to compare them to Scrooge. I'm having trouble on my computer getting through to Stardock, and since my key code is at home, I can't do it at work. But once I get through, I will pay the $30 that is currently being offered. But I will refuse to pay $60 for that service, unless it is a life-time subscription. That's a little too much for me on an annual basis. Can't wait to check out that beta.
How do you stop planets from defecting? What causes them to do so? Is it a matter of morale, proproganda, or some other factor that I can control? In my current game, I had one of my heavy production systems with 5 planets defect. How does one avoid that?
Ok, thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind when I try using some of these mods. [Message Edited]
I'd also like to know that. Also, once a mod is installed, how do you play a game where you might want to play with one or more mods, but not play with a certain mod. I hope I don't have to have several versions of the game installed on my harddrive.
I'm a newbie also, and I've also encountered this message several times. I thought it had something to do with government spending, but I don't recall where the military and social sliders are. Which screen do I control those from?
As a newbie to the game and this board/forum, I was just wondering how mods work. Is there some sort of mod launcher out there as with Space Empires IV, or do you just load it as you would load a saved game? Can't wait to try out this Star Wars mod.
