The system does not gaurantee N vs. N sides. It balances both sides based on their XP. 2 good players vs. 3 new players and so forth. Don't assume just because you face 3 opponents that you're going to lose.
Frogboy
I've had what chubber mentions happen to me too.
We aren't dropping connections though. The logs are pretty clear: People quit.
I look at gameplay suggestions. A lot of the game features in Demigod were a result of collaboration (the flags, pantheon upgrades, many of the items, skill trees, etc.).
I have sent in a number of AI suggestions that are being looked at for v1.2.
Just a clarification, the item in question isn't on sale, that is its normal price. When someone changed the price from the list price they used the wrong function and turned it into a piddly sales item.
Yea, we'll have to be careful about those coupons as digital sales are starting to outpace retail sales and we need retail sales in order to stay at retail! :)
Hi guys! Well I had a blast tonight playing online. Gave me a lot of ideas to pass on to the team in terms of making Demigod more fun in terms as an online thing. First, we absolutely positively gotta make it a lot easier to get friends in. That is, the current people in your game should be able to be popped up with a hot key and be able to add them in. I had a lot of fun with the games I played tonight. No rage quits, just a good group. I'd love to be able to get together wit
Yea, Demigod has done very well, especially considering its MP issues. I have a feeling that digital sales are going to consume more so than other games because the digital sales seem to be increasing while retail is decreasing a bit.
I agree. I can honestly say that I would be inclined to put resources on ways to make the in-game experience more socially pleasant. We have some ideas for that but I'd love to hear other ideas.
I'm not sure what the point is. I use Steam as well. But I wouldn't want Steam to be my only choice. Impulse has been out less than a year. Consider how much it has changed in 1 year. It's amazing how quickly people forget the first year Steam had.
This is very interesting. Is there a way to toggle it so that it isn't there?
Thanks! We still have some refining we want to do and we're working on GPG on lots of other good stuff but it does seem like we've turned the corner. The online stats are looking promising too. A LOT more games played today which is amazing for a weekday. More games were played in the last 24 hours than all last weekend.
Thanks! I'll pass it on to the team! It's great to be on the forums now that things are starting to work like they should! :)
Could you tell me more about the UI changes you want to see? Has someone already made a mod? Obviously, if people want to mod the LUA and have us take a look that would make things easier to get in.
Let me go ahead and add: Random Demigod selection: Choose Random assassin, random general or just random demigod. Based on player request, people finishing the game get 40 extra participation points. Heart of life has been moved to the artifact shop and its cooldown timer has been double. The effect has been increased. Plus: GPG and Stardock are also looking into what causes some people to just disc
It was me. I play almost every day. :)
Well it's kind of splitting hairs. Stardock licenses Raknet and we use it in Demigod. The developer of Raknet has been out here twice to work on it with us.
woot!
Personally I would like to see around 16 Demigods. That said, GPG says it's quite expensive to make Demigods. I'm willing to pitch in for the first 2 but after that we'll have to see.
HEEEEYYYYYY!!!!! This update sucks. We were promised a dressing room for our Demigod so that we could dress them up and style their hair and makeup. I believe this was promised to be implemented by now. Where is that? Huh?
LOL.
Is random demigod selection in 1.1? I remember it was planned or something. Hope it's still high priority.
Yep just added it.
Yea. I've been able to get into a lot of games tonight. Sadly, it took this long to get to where the game SHOULD have been on release date in terms of connectivity. For more info on how they fixed things: 1. The Raknet MTU value was too high which caused some routers to not be able to receive from certain users. Thanks to some users who worked with us, this was identified and changed. 2. There is no IP binding so people with multiple nics (like me)
Hi DC, Tonight's update was purely new code from Stardock for fixing pantheon, skirmish and connecting in custom games. It doesn't do anything for what happens once you're in the game. That said, we are looking at the issue carefully to see how we can help on that.
