Who's asking for trillions to be spent?
I'm curious. Let's assume for a moment that human produced CO2 can affect the global temperature. How do you stop it?
If a majority group of epidemiologists published findings that implied a strain of airborne Ebola was surfacing in Michigan would you really talk about how scientific consensus has often proved wrong, historically? From a historical perspective the price of being wrong is exquisitely low relative to the price of being right but ignored, and I'm sorry but your personal commitment to solar and recycling or Willie's living close to work have no more effect on AGW than owning your ow
All because of copyright monopoly, if GPG is unwilling to fix demigod there would be other people in the community willing to do so but they are barred from doing so because of stupid ass laws like copyright and the corporate serfdom model of software ownership, that is - license, never own
Is something stopping you from making your own game? No one is forced to copyright what they make. I look forward to your un-copyrighted
Looking around there are games like Warcraft/DOTA (Blizzard), League of Legends, Demigod and the upcoming Heroes of Newerth which have games belonging to this similar genre. DOTA is free (well.. you pay for Warcraft and DOTA is simply just one map out of the thousands...), Demigod tries to make it big.. but failed and newer games like LoL and HoN learn from Stardock's mistakes - with LoL you play the game for FREE. You pay for unlocking more heroes and buying skins/power
So - actual numbers aren't going to appear I'm guessing, but can you clarify what top 10 best sellers at retail means for the first 3 months of its release? This means there's a list of 2009 pc games releases and demigod was in the top 10 for sales in its first 3 months? Is that what you are saying? Or does that mean something else completely?
The most widely accepted provider of retail sales figures is NPD. For the first 3 months of Demigod's releas

Demigod was one of the top 10 best sellers at retail according to NPD for the first 3 months of its release. I'm not sure, by what definition, Demigod could be considered a "failure". It should also be noted that going on a year later, Demigod is still at retail -- albeit at a lower price than when it first shipped but anyone familiar with retail stocking knows that in today's environment, PC games don't stay on the shelves unless they are selling pretty well. &n

The clan support would be part of an update to Impulse as part of the Elemental release later on. As to how it will appear in Demigod, I can't say at this stage since I can't speak for Gas Powered Games. But the idea is to move more and more of the whole lobby/match making system away from the hard-coded stuff you see in Demigod to an overlay system. Some people have complained about the Demigod lobby and the reason it is sometimes flakey is that it's all
@Brad; i'm dissapointed that you nuked that other thread. Its no point running away from the reality of what people think of the current situation regarding this product. The sentiment of what was written in there (especially by Ferazel) well summarized the situation for most of us. Maybe too many people were starting to agree with him (at least partially) hence the thread was nuked? Deleting such threads does not change people's minds, it just annoys them
In another thread Brad (which has since been nuked), you clearly stated there are no finances nor will (could even say no desire) to create a full blown expansion pack or even to an extent a micro-expansion, yet you have every intention of nickel and diming your fans for insignificant updates. I also find it extremely odd (and to a point hilarious) as to how much back-peddling you've made in your recent statements. First, it was 'NO CONTENT FOR YOU', now it's 'ok,

Okay, I've been reading a lot of different interpretations of forum comments that I or mods have made on the release of Oculus (which officially was announced today). First , I want to give a big hand to Gas Powered Games who did an incredible job on Oculus. He is amazing! Make sure you read up on his story which you can view by clicking on the arrow button in the Demigod selection screen by his portrait. As was the case with Demon Assassin, Gas Powered Games d
The answer why not is because there are other cooling events. If I turn the temperature knob on my oven up and then open the door are you going to argue that turning the knob up doesn't raise the temperature inside the oven? The hardest part about these discussions is that there ARE answers to the questions that most people bring up. They are just ignored, because it conflicts with ideologies.
What you call answers I call excuses. Asking for so
Yes, I understand and accept the business decisions. But you are still mentioning the "hostility". It just bugs me that you are letting the forum trolls win, so to speak.
It's a PR issue. Good will. Plus, it's a hassle to deal with people like Ferazel. If you think the forums are rough, you should see the kinds of stuff support has had to deal with. :)
I hope you are not making this decision because of the reaction of the Occulus update. I'll iterate again: many people were simply confused about why they suddenly have to go through the Impulse store to unlock Occulus, when they got Demon Assassin without doing that. If there was to be DLC with cost in the future, people who want to buy it won't mind this. It's simply a wrong conclusion to think that people won't ever buy a DLC just because they didn't want to jump through hoops for t

Hi guys, I'm waiting for the compiler on another project to finish so let me take a minute to address this. There are a lot of different issues in place here so I'll try to be as succinct as I can be. First, I don't think most people realize that Stardock is only the publisher of the game in North America and digitally. Atari is actually the worldwide publisher (outside of North America). But the responsibility to support the game and community (and more specific

Deep down, we already knew this. :) There are few rules to Demigod online. The rules are: #1 If you lose, the other guy cheated. #2 If you lose, your Demigod needs to be buffed. #3 If you lose, other Demigods need to be nerfed. That is all.
Yeah, he was kind like God was to Job.
Yes, because pressing a button is the equivalent of what Job went through... We wanted to see if there was a way to justify making more maps and demigods for the game. We'll never know now. Anyway, I've emailed the teams involved that we're just going to make the new Demigods available. Sorry for any inconvenience.

It means it'll have to be looked at in the morning. Guys, chill out. The thing hasn't even been announced yet. It'll get solved tomorrow and then we'll do the formal announcement and all will be right in the world. :)

I understand the reason. Obviously I don't like the idea that SupCom 2 is going to be Steam only. What I am saying is that the fault isn't with GPG OR with Valve but rather with the platform that doesn't provide the kind of functionality console developers get for free -- match making, accounts, achievements, etc. without having to jump through hoops. I mean, if anyone should be complaining about SupCom being on Steam, it should be me. But the reality is, if I were in their pl
