Here's an updated DLL that you can unzip into your Demigod/bin directory: http://draginol.stardock.net/files/impulsereactor-101709.zip

I still think I'm failing to communicate. The problem with the internal beta is that you don't know what the economic system is. It simply says "takes 8 turns to build". That's it. Players need to know how the economy works in order to effectively debate changes to it.
Hi guys, Myself (Frogboy) and Alberto (lead developer on DesktopX) will be playing Demigod tonight if anyone wants to join our games.
Let make sure we're all on the same page: The entire point for delaying the economy beta was so that the user interface of the game could be updated so that people could see how the economy works and debate THAT. Whether a building requires a resource or not is beside the point because unless people KNOW a building requires a resource or not there can be no real debate in the first place.
Well, it looks like you guys have a foundation for an economy with resources etc. I think the real test for the economy will be much later when we can see how the different resources benefit the player and interact with each other. If I need honey to make traps to rid my sewers of zombie rats, can I buy some from my neighbor for iron ingots? I'm not sure I see how the economy can mean anything without the rest of the game in play. I wouldn't dream of trying to 'f
Don't you mean beta 1B? Hey man don't flame stardock if you don't even know the beta schedule
D'oh!
well, you never claimed to be fair either, or other things. i tried to explain you something. something that is quite important for a representiv of an enterprise that wants to sale products. and finally it would hurt your bussiness at most if that is the way you treat your customers that complain about a situation that is really woth to complain about.
I'm not fair either. And I've been told for years how being not nice and not fair is going to "hurt our busine
SocialistRyan: I'll ask IT to review the case.
edit: i really liked SDs attitude on the game marked. but thx to you i started to reduce my sympathy. it's not the nice way how you treat such a situation.
I've never claimed to be nice. :) I only claim to be honest.
interesting and scaring statement. you mean: "pay the money and if you don't like it shut up"? sorry, for this rude interpretation but from many post i saw from you more or less this is what you want to say. of course some people go to far in their frustration but on the other side i never saw you having at least some understanding for them, cause under the current situation it is understandable. instead i saw you calling other "idots". you react pretty much the same as the people you
Yea, I tend to think that the # of games played is the key stat really. At the risk of being bold, I'm pretty good at Demigod but I only "win" half my games.
I think most of the time invalid gamestates are just weird things that happen that are beyond anyone's control. However, if you've got an extremely high "win" %, you actually say you are going to try to trigger said invalid state to avoid a loss, and said event occurs, you're in big trouble. It's not hard to trigger invalid gamestates. There is nothing that can be done. It's something I've personally spent time looking into and the reality is, as long as you have a game that i
Have sent in a request to ban.
Are you sure it's removed and that you just can't find it? That said, if you are coming here to complain about the game, you should find another forum.
Elemental Beta. :)
I know how you feel. I think the algorithm needs to be revisited. My experience is like 700 and I win most games these days.
^Yep. Outside of the connectivity problems at launch, the ongoing lack of in-game stats has been the single most destructive and inexcusable part of the Demigod online experience. Just reading this thread, you can see how this missing feature has poisoned the community with suspicion and contempt for each other. I hope that this feature gets officially added very soon .
It will be next week but you can try it now. <a href="http
The 2 new Demigods were never part of v1.2 so I'm not even sure what you're tlaking about. I agree that the two new demigods are taking a lot longer than we'd like them to take. But that has nothing to do with v1.2 which has been being delivered on with pretty regular updates. No offense but it's posts like these that make me want to throw up my hands in despair. The new Demigod overlay, for instance, is very cool and I pulled some of my top developers off of other
So this begs the question... why bother supporting it?
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The games I design are single player centric. But I think most gamers do expect support for MP. Another way to look at it is that a lot of people who do play online want to play with people they know.
as you've got the numbers, how does this compare to other online games you sell? e.g. sins
It's way way higher than Sins still. There's still something like 5X more people playing Demigod online than Sins. A bad day for Demigod is still a high day for Sins because Sins is almost completely played single player. But Sins has a great single player experience. Demigod is more geared towards MP.
This isn't intended as a flame of Stardock or GPG. I'm just wondering what happened that caused such a lengthy delay of everything. I'm only curious because it hurts Demigod as a whole.
Except that it was soon after decided to release v1.2 as a series of updates which has been occurring since.
Hmmm... this could be usefull... but it could also be exploited (you beat me so I'm writing a bad review for you...)
You can only see your own notes. They're not public. It's already come in handy as I've avoided some rage quitters today.
No. They played me today on the other side. They lost and mysterious the game didn't count (no desync). I'm going to state the obvious: Pulling cheating when you're playing me is probably not the best idea. I've got all the logs so we'll look at it.
I think the solution isn't to discourage pre-mades but get TEAM matching in which is the long term goal here.
