UPS responded today: We did not halt our advertising on Fox; we simply did not have any ads currently airing on Fox. This should not be interpreted as a decision to pull our advertising temporarily or permanently from the Fox network. In fact, a new advertising rotation began on September 14 to support the new The UPS Store online printing service. Fox is included in that rotation.
Frogboy
Well I just had an awesome game with you Neilo (thanks to Ready to Play recommending you). You had a high ping but the game played fine.
Impulse?
Greetings! Just a head's up: We're doing a partial stat reset for v1.19. We're migrating your existing wins, losses, and favor points over to the new stats but your experience will be reset to 1000 so that everyone is on an equal footing in terms of experience now that custom games are counted as long as there are humans on both teams. The reset is occurring today so some of you may need to relogon to have access to your favor points.
We actually recently did set up a proxy server in Australia. Ironically, Austraians might be better off using the proxy server because it has a direct line to the US mainland (fewer hops) than what the typical Australian ISP has. It would be cool if someone actually ran some benchmarks as I think you'd find that an Australian playing a European, both on proxy servers, ends up with a LOWER ping than a so-called direct connect. It's a pity that Demigod's initial net
I don't kick people for having a 300ms ping. 400ms is my threshold of concern.
Yep, doesn't actually create a lobby. While we could do that for our games, the idea is for it to work with all games and as a practical matter, we've found that people tend to like to set up private games in the chat. Right now, the beta group only has like 500 people or something like that total but we plan to expand it more next week.
Greetings everyone! I just want to let you know I will be hosting Frogboy 3 on 3 games all this week. Feel free to join up. Games tend to fill quickly but we usually have a pretty good time win or lose. See you online!
We won because we gained total control of the portals really. Valor flag is fixed in the build going up tomorrow.
Yea, replays will help a lot.
I really like mist later on. It's a great way to wipe out late game creeps out in front of the enemy's citadel clearing the path for yours.
Notes: Private. Got it. that's what my preference was too.
That's one great piece of information. Everyone can surely appreciate that Stardock continues with a worldwide price for their own software. Also one big difference in communication, as FidelCastrol can attest.
I hope people still appreciate that if Elemental isn't available at retail in Europe. :)
Just because a game sells alot of copys and creates revenue doesnt make it a good game meens it just made money for the companys at hand. Demigod is a shining example of just that IMO. Gloating about 100k + sales then saying they can only afford to give us 2 demigods for free and point to us paying for more down the line is pure rubbish also.
There is no objective "truth" about what constitutes a good game. I was merely responding to the contention that Demigod
Most of the time, people don't disconnect (you can look at the games I play). Sometimes people get mad and quit. Not unique to Demigod. Having great fun. I agree my items are still needing tweaking.
Which items do you think are the most useful and which ones do you think are basically worthless and what would you change about them?
The team dynamics in Demigod are easy to understand but are constantly evolving. Even the strategies in Demigod are evolving over time as players discover new combinations.
I had a blast too. Last night I saw the greatest comeback ever and it was by the other team. We had total control of the map and were close to taking down their citadel but they slowly pushed us back. I think we all ended up level 20.
I've noticed it as well and I don't have a good answer as to what causes it. But it is something I'm looking into and will be reporting to GPG about.
Amen. I wish I had a good answer.
Are there really different "site interaction" standards on different forum sites? If so what is it about Demigod that makes it's site interaction standards singularly unique? Are these interaction standards posted or otherwise made explicitly known?
Each site in the Stardock community has different demographics. The Demigod community is somewhat unique is that it attracts a younger demographic that often acts highly entit
There won't be a favor point reset. But Epoch 3 will likely begin soon after v1.2.
No one has been banned. We do, however, have an access group called visitor that we regularly will set people to who don't use the forums for what they were meant for. Angry rants, for example, is not the type of behavior we're willing to tolerate anymore, especially on the Demigod forums. But those users aren't banned. They just don't have posting priviledges which is quite a big difference. Posting on the community forums is not a right. It is not part of ones purchase.
Has a low skill ceiling. You cannot really argue this case. The game is easy to pick up, and easy to master (easier than most games). The game was designed like this. Everyone knows it, and Stardock/GPG have agreed with this too. When I play games its so obvious that the most important thing is the build/Demigod Combination and items I take with my Demigod - not my skill. This is a serious downfall when it comes to competitive gaming.
Oh I disagree with this strongly. I
I'm up now.
