Yea, the point system of Demigod could use some tweaking IMO. Regulus's snipe ensures he gets the most kill credits. The support demigods tend to get creamed. Also, the demigod who sacrifices by buying the key ealry citadel upgrades (structure and currency 1) is crippled for the rest of teh game. In the games I play, I'm typically the one who buys those and as a result rarely have the most points (or even win the citadel upgrades). There's really no perfect way to do i
Frogboy
I play the game every day (check my pantheon account): http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/games/player/10397/ There are two avenues of new features going into Demigod: 1. Demigod specific stuff: GPG. Right now, we have a build that they're really trying to get out in the next day or two that has the replays and such in. You'd be surprised at the kind of little weird stuff that can creep
FB: Well hopefully for your employees' sakes you dont take the same route Activision apparently did. From an interview with Activision's CEO just posted on Gamespot today: "We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games." Although from what I've seen elsewhere that definitely not your style
Johny - I think you misunderstand the purpose of the post. The point is not that my experience is unique but rather that my experience is typical.
I know when MOO 2 was released because I played it in the delivery room on the laptop waiting for my first child to be born.
The main problem, in my mind, is that the SD guys don't view the game as competitive, or rather that more basic matchmaking features are perceived to be outside the interest of the casual player.
No, the main problem is that SD doesn't see it as the role of the game publisher to have to develop this sort of thing. If GPG is interested in building an extensive MP match making system (ala bring GPGNet back) or what have you we're all over that. Stardo
Sorian - that's awesome!
Fly first class, they let most us waltz on thru without that tripe
I do.
Mehoo: ETA stands for estimated time of arrival. That means, by definition, it's an estimate. There were 2 updates in August. There have been internal releases throughout August but none that qualified as a release. Nothing has changed in our release plans.
v1.2 is in internal beta right now.
Video will be going up soon.
We will be banning accounts that do this. While the games aren't counted on the Pantheon, our database still has these games. We can data mine the games played database and look for patterns. And when I say ban, I mean, ban, as in, that player isn't playing Demigod online anymore.
We are aware of the problem. That's all I can say right now..
Had it happen to me today. I don't think it's intentional. I know it's being looked at though. The new build is in internal beta.
I'm not careless. Just cruel. :)
I went pure healing when I played sedna.
If only... :)
So you were giving yourself negative propaganda in order to bring more attention to yourself in the idea there is no such thing as bad news
Well, item #2 was not something we had anything to do with. Just some clueless person deleting the installer and then blaming us for requiring it when they go to uninstall something. With item #1, we took pictures of it for our own use. We didn't distribute it out. But on the other hand, we don't really care if
No, the space to the left is also a disabled slot. Not that I've ever seen anyone use them for their intended purpose - or at all.
The INTENT was to block 2 handicap spots so that we could take a picture. :)
#1 We posed the car that way (it is actually blocking TWO handicap spots) in order to take a picture because it was offensively funny. #2 The user in question downloaded Impulse, then later installed Fences, uninstalled Fences, and then was shocked, SHOCKED that the program needed Impulse to uninstall. #3 I recommend that sad, bitter, politically correct people avoid Stardock and Stardock products at all costs. We're dangerous
Also i would like to add that as far as i see, every single problem with the game HAS ALREADY BEEN ADDRESSED. Ping spikes, invalid game states, auto-matching etc already have their threads. If you have a legitimate new problem or have something new to add to an existing thread, by all means post it for it will make the community better. If you just want to vent, then find some other outlet.
We agree. Some problems are in the nature of Internet gaming. <
Then don't use it.
My suggestion would be to someone to set up a monthly question post and then I'll write a journal answering the questions as well as possible.
I'm juggling a lot of stuff. Still working on it.
But, the thing that I quoted was YOU (as in the CEO of SD, not GPG) saying that a multiplayer dominated game is not incomplete if it lacks replays, clan functionality etc. You were the one arguing that DG is complete, not GPG.
My definition of complete is when a developer believes that the game is done. GPG thought the game was done (features). This is the game they intended to make. Any other definition of "complete" is subjective.
