Greetings. Was a long time since I was here...and played, but no I got "the urge" back :) Is there any SC interface planned for the library files? The current systems is....far from optimal :) Cya
Helt okej, passar på att dra min första post i forumet på evigheter. Var alldeles för länge sedan jag spelade, men känner att suget ökar. :) ~SDC~
Does any of you have SmartException installed? That one gathers data that you can send to Stardock.
I cant use the discussion-part of SDC at work, since it doesnt work as goot with proxys as the regular IE does. With SDC I only see old stuff, but in IE everything shows.
Hahahahahaha. ~SDC~
if SmartException is running and it recognizes the crash, you should have a file called galciv.exe.cra somewhere on your system, most probably in the SmartException-directory. That file contains some references to the code and stuff, to aid the devs in finding the problem.
Error in the docs. ~SDC~
Hi! The game is fixed at 1024*768. ~SDC~
Hmmm while thinking of it, I might like an option to send it to the least upgraded starbase. On the other hand, since while Im boosting starbases Im making several constructors every turn - that will send too many to the least upgraded starbase. I mean since it takes X turns to get there and I'll make many new ones during that time. So it'll not be useful. Never mind :) ~SDC~
One example is modifiers like starbases. And if the ship is in orbit of a system it gets some def bonus depending on what social imrovements the system has. ~SDC~
Hi, sad to hear. If you check your galciv-directory, there is a file called debugg.err Please check it out and paste the content here. It will most probably contain a clue of what's wrong. ~SDC~
Hi! Have you applied all updates from SDC? 1.01a.034 In the galciv-dir there is a file called debug.err, that one may give a hint to what's happening.
If you right click on the forum name and do a reset list it should start working again. ~SDC~
Why not playing with easier opponents if it's too hard? ~SDC~
Have you contacted anywone or posted the info about the crashes here? Like the debug.err and smartexception data? Do you use the latest version 1.01a.034? ~SDC~
how constricive you are in your criticism.. what didnt you like, and what didnt meet the descriptions and your expectations? ~SDC~
Have you applied the latest patches through SDC? Do you use SBLive soundcard? There is a bugfix there that might fix this for you in the latest patches. Another workaround may be to disable the sound. If you hit that bug, that is. ~SDC~

Did you go for the direct download (on download-page of the website) or through the Stardock Central (SDC)? If using SDC - did you select GalCiv as application (not drengin.net) when you entered the cd-key/serial in SDC?
You need to have the status close to get the alliance option. Altho there might be other stuff as weel, how's your good/evil alignment compaired to theirs? Are you allied with their enemies? ~SDC~
But sure, they might be able to do some handyman-work on the ships tho, but the shipbuilders union probably wouldnt like it LOL ~SDC~
Not having any infrastructure isnt the same as not having any people skilled at it tho. If you choose to have them unemployed it's your call.. ~SDC~
what if you do a chkdsk/scandisk of your harddrive? does that report any errors? Otherwise it seems to me that it's a broken installer. You should be able to download the entire game using the Stardock Central, available from the downloads page, but that may of course be a problem since it's kinda big. I suggest you contact [email protected], explaining your problems. It's more likely a Strategy First issue I guess but I dont have a good email to them... ~SDC~
Hi! It works for me.. ~SDC~
