The first time I tried to colonize a planet, one in the same galaxy as Earth, everything was fine. The next two times, I failed. I think you may have changed out this works because after trying a time or two one of these ships finally did evoke the colonize screen. Is it GalCiv or is it me?

I have used both the saved and resume and start new game features over and over. I did get one bug notice on exiting after saving. I haven't actually tried to distinguish the save and resume features (i. e., save, play some more, and then go back to saved game to see if it starts back when you saved it). I haven't since you can't give saved games names. Has anyone tested the distinction?

I agree with Ensign gherardo that the game develops very slowly. I am wondering if there might be a way to select a doubling or tripling of game speed in the sense that everything from research to building ships to moveing around the board goes faster. At the present pace and the time I seem to find right now to play (it is Spring and many things call for time), I am struggling to relearn the game from my old OS2 days. Speeding things up might be a way to get into the game much faster to lear

Today, the colony miniwindow in the right corner coverd up the "Done" button for some reason or another. At one point it said "Arcean colony" but I don't remember inspecting one. I did inspeact some drengin colonies, however. I was using the Survey ship to snoop on colonies. When I just tried to replicate the problem by clicking on a colony near a Survey ship, the problem happened again. When a new technology windo popped up and I clicked OK or whatever button makes it go away, I would see

Time after time, when I target a colony ship for a solar system, it does not actually land and allow me to take over a planet but turns around and when I target some other ship, it seems to start off in that direction. If, on the other hand, I retarget the ship while it is still next to the solar system it will land and allow me to select a planet. By the way, I can't figure out what survey ships do?

My Easter holliday went like this. We were having our daugter and future son in law over for Easter dinner -- first time ever that an "official" dinner was ever scheduled for this day. Turkey and all. Well, I needed to go out to the store to buy lots of stuff to put in our new freezer, something my wife knew. On the way, I stopped off at a neighbor to give him some free range eggs I had harvested from my 6 hens and explain about my guinea fowl which were heading up toward his house. He kidn

I figured out how to get out of the hidden Done button when I replicated this for the third time. Simply click on another planet in the set of planets associated with the one you have colonized and that helps get you out of trouble. Still it does seem like a bug to me.

I have twice done the following. 1. Brought up a specific planet window. 2. Added building a new technology (once -- maybe twice or maybe the first time I added building a new ship. 3. Before hitting the done button, I hit the Turn button. 4. At that point, the Done button was hidden by a ship subwindow, both of which are in the lower right. Nothing I did could fix it. 5. I saved the game. Brought it back up and the game was fine. However, the first time I believe that I had just coloni

I tried both to restore last civilization from drengin.net with the Alpha 4 and then to go to a saved game and both recycled me back to the main drengin.net screen from which one launches the game. Is the save feature not actually activated?

I love this idea "I think it would be great to have a race that is so odd that initial understanding may be difficult" from Citizen Dunwinch Not so easy to do. The oddness would have to be mental or there wouldn't, I presume, understanding problems. So it could be odd in its thinking or have a language we struggle to understand. Since everything anyone says is canned speech. I have worked on getting computers to speak English conversationally. Not easy at

While I am not particularly fond of nonorganic races, I really like the idea of less influential beings. However, I think it would be great if they were actually, at least some of them, somewhat malicious and needing to be ferreted out and killed. Perhaps some of them could be nice and some bad.
