OP has valid points. if theres a big gang and/or at least 1 rook around, targeting any specific dg becomes very frustrating. There should rly be an interface with DG portraits/names/health and mana bars left side all friendly dg's and right side all enemy DG's who are within visibility of you or your allies. Lacking this sort of ui is my biggest disappointment with the game atm
That'd be too
To balance the game the next DG needs to be an unmarried mother of ethnic origins, from a disadvantaged background. Her powers would be: Nappy Rash, Social Security Drain, Puke Spit and Fag Smoke.
Would definitely be a general, with the ability to "birth" more children, which increases gold production, while decreasing gold production for the rest of her team.
The confusion comes in because you would use different numbers depending on the decision (as Jomungur pointed out): Should I engage my enemy? (Take the current, visible 15% advantage into account.) Should I take and/or lock the flag? (Take the ~32% change in advantage into account.) The math is undebatable. The conversation is about how you use the numbers. IMO health, mana, and celerity flags are almost never worth locking. Portal, gold, Xp, and
This conversation isn't likely to go anywhere useful if it's just going to be about AI in general. Demigod isn't the other games that are getting name-dropped here. It's a completely different environment than you'd find in SupCom, GalCiv, or your typical great single-player game. It's a relatively small-scale engagement with a very limited selection of actions available to the player at any one time. I'm certainly
[e digicons]k1[/e] Chirmaya, those look awesome, haha! I like the colors. Although, it seems if we want to fit into the Light/Darkness theme, maybe a simple black/white scheme would work. I think that's sort of what they have now, but it's not pronounced enough for smaller units. The black needs to be blacker, and the white whiter. Edit: The biggest problem is really the Demigods themselves, not the grunts.
HOL will get nerfed 1.1.
and where's our "insert skin colour" assasin
You kidding? What color(s) are Oak, Rook, and Beast? Sedna is kind of a darkish color. Torchbearer looks pretty charred (black).
Great read. Thanks! [e digicons]k1[/e]
LOL This thread was a very interesting read. [e digicons]k1[/e] to Lieu for suffering through all that nonsense. I think there are flags worth capping early on, and some not. I don't think health/mana ones are worth a cap lock early, but XP or gold cap locks are definitely worth it, and gold mines usually pay for themselves. Then of course a cap lock in Exile is essential to holding the middle, and probably worth giving up an item to get a couple.
This is close to what I already do, except I would trade off one level of Frost Nova for Fire Nova, it will give me an extra spell to work with so I'm not such a slave to cooldowns.

I'm colorblind. Half of the colors in the lobby look the same to me. I don't care if there are only two colors: yellow and blue, or black and white. Telling my teammates apart are not as important to me as telling enemies and friendlies apart.
Do I also get to complain that Rook is so large that everyone just clicks on him to attack, thereby ignoring all the small DGs?
Hehe, I do that. Poor Rooks. Seriously though, it's not hard to have a glow for heroes. I don't know, maybe it IS a colorblind issue (I'm colorblind), but the fact remains that a good number of people have issues finding DGs in the fray. This obviously should not be a L2P issue, being a
I'm not aware of any significant issues with Demigod at this point. The most recent connectivity update has pretty much, in my view, made it bullet proof. As for coupons lost, in 99% of cases the coupons weren't lost but rather got filtered out via spam filters and such. The difficulty in putting out such broad ranged coupons (20% off EVERYTHING) is that it requires the buy in of a LOT of third parties for obvious reason
I have to agree that without cheats, the AI completely sucks. It routinely overextends and gets crappy skills (yetis ftl!). I just don't think the solution to this is spending more time on the AI. I think that games should be designed so that when a teammate drops, it's not subbed by an AI, but rather boost the team's passive income / XP gains to compensate.
1.1 patch is supposed to come out next week, supposed to have balance fixes and stuff, although we haven't had any detailed patch notes yet.
I don't think the actual "I" part of "AI" improves between Hard and Nightmare, so if you want cheating set to "Off" just play on Hard instead of Nightmare. Hard AI might cheat a little bit, but easily overcome. In fact, I barely notice a skill difference even between Normal and Hard AI, but there probably is a little. As this really isn't meant to be a single-player game, I don't expect GPG to spend too much time developing the AI.
There are 2 blunders here that I can see: 1) short duration of coupon, and 2) inaccurate details (expiration date). These coupons are good for those who were already able and willing to buy a game from them, meaning that Stardock actually lost out on 20% revenue. Giving coupons to these people usually don't benefit the company monetarily, except making a loyal customer base happier than they already are. The more usualy point of a coupon (for those that don't understand market
Demigods need a certain glow or something. It's hard to see my own DG, let alone enemies, in a mob. CTRL and ~ don't do enough.
As I haven't played much Sedna, I ask, does Healing Wind also affect Sedna herself?
Warlord's Punisher seems too unreliable with a 30 second cooldown, and 400 mana every 30 seconds ain't all that big of a deal. It MAY work, if you coupled it with Gauntlets of Despair (15% chance to drain 100 mana) - will need high attack rate for it to really work. If he's able to just summon minions over and over, it means he's playing with a huge mana pool. From what you described of your game, his minions aren't the problem, it's the inability to deal enough damage to him, which makes me
Yep, it's called "click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click click."

A "dead pan" would indicate a cooking utensil that is not alive. Anyways, back on topic: Torchbearer is my favorite DG because he has the cheesiest and most maniacal lines.
Actually I'll amend my statement. I think that as the game progresses, armor matters more and HP matters less. At around 4-5k HP, it's best to start stacking on armor. That's because most Demigods are not capable of bursting that much damage, and will rely on killing you with AA. Also, armor is ESPECIALLY good against crit-stacking.
Armor is supposed to mitigate all damage that is not specifically activated/cast by a Demigod. This would include auto-attacks, grunt damage, building damage, and I THINK minion damage, too. I think the importance of armor depends on who you are fighting against. If you are experiencing a high volume of ability damage, then you need to stack on the HP, but if your enemies are using a lot of auto-attacks and minion damage, you need to get some armor. Typically a good ba
