One of the settings controls fog of war quality (fidelity?). Turning that down a tick made things waaay better for me.

I like Prison the way it is--I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to be chaotic.
http://forums.demigodthegame.com/333433 They're probably already in progress.
Yes. It sounds like something bigger than a snafu would have to occur, a natural disaster that causes the eastern seaboard to disappear or a snow storm that shuts that down their servers. You might wanna check a thread devoted to this, ie my thread on "Demigod BETA 2 Update Thread with comments from Mike Marr, lead designer". It has all the most recent info. It is also 6th on most recent posts. Try to look next time
I don't think it's "on", Legerdemain is right - I should have been more cordial, or at the very least, less hostile. Still, it's much easier to do so when all parties show mutual respect from the get-go.
Very well played! I now throw my support behind this post, for whatever that's worth. :P
JinxOfSin, from here (reply #31).
you don't like it because you're bad at it.

Yes, I can see how this might be a flaw. The worst player should be the one that destroys all opposition. Or maybe it should simply be random. Who cares if that player spent time and energy to get good at a game. God forbit he actually beat you.

And this is why you actually hate dota. I sense a lit
Aforementioned closed-mindedness of the community. I remember someone saying the only way to build TB was ice. Probably a joke, but it made me think, what if only one build was viable for any particular Demigod? It would make the game quite boring!
That was me, it was a joke, and fire or mixed builds are perfectly viable. I just don't like 'em. I'm closed-minded, not the whole community. :P
Quoting Legerdemain, reply 4accomodate >.> Accommodate.
Ouch. ...this is why we need the spellcheck to work!
Mark one for Torch Bearer baby guess the only beef I'll have with TB is that there's only so many ways to build him.
The only way to build Torchy is full ice. :P
accomodate >.>
Fencing. Why use a computer when you can do it for real?
I'll probably wobble precariously between Sedna and Torchbearer.
I've actually done a rough starship exterior/interior in SketchUp. >.> It's a good tool for it, but it's ten times easier to build from the inside out as opposed to the outside in (cough). :P
Well, to be fair I really can't handle the distraction anyway. Here's waiting for next week. :P
Graaaaaah! I was looking forward to beta 2. >.>
Stardock is privately held, so our friend and CEO Brad Wardell is able to do whatever he wants to make money without a bunch of whiny stockholders to ask him to justify himself. Going pretty well for him so far. :P
Smart money's on Thursday.
I've been looking for a Shadowbane replacement for some time.
please please tell me how you done that Legerdemain? the last time i tried it wanted me to validate (which i could not do as there's no net at the LAN).
Both computers had internet connections, actually--we LANed Sins for convenience and Demigod because we had to. :P
You don't even need to do that. I've installed both Sins and Demigod on the computers of a friend or two for LAN goodness.
English words do not always have a 1:1 mapping to a word in another language. There can be a group of words that mean approximaly what is intended. Even if a 1:1 mapping exists, the literally translated word may not be what a native speaker would use in that context. Selecting the right one for these words is the most difficult thing when translating from/to English. If English has 800000 words, at least Dutch has more of them. S
I predict it will be released on Nov. 20 at 2:30pm EST.
I'm not going to be playing online until beta 2 hits, but I find that it's possible to be nearly as dominant with TB against the AI as with UCB. Ice, all the stat upgrades, and the +weapon damage artifacts is a great combo when it comes to control. Seeing demigods crawl along at some ridiculously low percentage of their speed is entertaining.
What the game needs is either a removal of +weapon damage items or an addition of +power damage items. Part of the reason why UCB/Rook can reach such incredible heights is because of multiplication of giant static bonuses.
Elemental is, I understand, much more in the vein of Master of Magic--a vastly different beast than HoMM. I'd recommend obtaining a copy of MoM and dosbox and seeing for yourself. Really it's very close to what you described. :P
