I'm sure plenty of pirates get a little power-trip thrill when they steal a game, feeling that they've somehow beaten the unfair system which has denied them the entertainment that they think they're entitled to, which they think they shoudln't have to pay for.
Which can equally be said for developers (the power trip) that release steaming piles of poo as videogames that end up being bought by hapless consumers.
there are previews, reviews, gameplay videos, alphas, betas, screenshots, developer diaries and so on, so you can see if its a game for you
All of these are inadequate to judge the quality of the game. God knows the amount of money I have wasted on games that receive 10/10 from reviews sites. They were either paid shills or were such fanboys that they overlooked game crushing bugs. Demigod is a good case in point. If I had w

I love this game, but a perfect score given the still recurring issues with multiplayer? I can never place much stock in these game reviews. All of them gave near perfect scores to Total War: Empire and that game was almost unplayable due to the bugs. And the load times, ugh.
They have stated this is being fixed, and I've noticed a big improvement since.
Heh, placebo effect I guess. Played 10 games last night in Patheon in over 50% of them, someone disconnected before the map had even begun. Frustrating to say the least. Custom games worked out much better.
The game works fine, maybe your computer sucks,
We must be playing different games. Multiplayer setups are painful. Other than that, not much more can be said about it. Stardock knows there is an issue and has addressed it openly and frankly with the community several times. They aren't hiding the ball and you aren't going to magically prod them into action (they are on it). It's disappointi
Team chat is fantastic in small player games like these. World in Conflict has voice chat and it works very well. With only 5-8 people on a sided (WiC) you do not get many people who spaz out on voice chat. Plus, there is always the mute button that can be applied person by person. Demigod would benefit greatly from voice chat. I cant tell you how many times a team player has run away from me while I am trying to heal them with Sedna. Or when I type "go lef
One tactic that hasn't gotten floated here is protecting your defensive towers in the early game. Too often I see a new player leave an area because they are outgunned, e.g., 2 v 1. Those 2 demigods then proceed to slowly whittle away your defensive towers while farming creep waves. Depending on the map, losing a tower early can have bad consequences. It forces you on the defensive and ends up costing you the contested flags in the middle. By using your d
It should have been clear from all the reviews out there that there is no single player compaign to speak of. The game is focused on multiplayer and the single player is less than an afterthought. Of course the multiplayer component was horrendously broken at release and still provides tons of headaches. The multiplayer UI is meh - overlays are pretty klunky and any pull for information takes you out of the game and into a browser. In other words, the multiplayer frill
Pantheon - it is probably the one and only more or less working multiplayers option in your game.
That's strange. It is the only aspect of the game I cannot get to work. Skirmish and custom work after a fashion. But it took me 4 hours to get one patheon game to launch, and then the other team d/c'd.
The games get much closer when the skill level is closer. That will hopefully be sorted out using the Skirmish and Pantheon modes of play. Supreme Commander worked well on match play and now it's a matter of scaling it up to handle 5v5.

If I had a problem with Company of Heroes I'd expect to hear from Relic, not have the CEO of THQ having to do all this.
Because the issue is largely with the Impulse matchmaking service facilitating the multiplayer. GPG end of things works fairly well. I don't have many, if any, issues once I get into a game.
The game has been out for almost 2 weeks now, and yet the main feature: multiplayer, is not available to a large portion of the people who bought the game. I'm never going to buy another stardock game again until there are enough reviews out that say that it actually works.
The game certainly has its hang ups but I seriously doubt that the multiplayer is not available to a large po
Do the % mana regen items use the base mana regen or are they applied after other items. Take your example. If I had another item that doubled my base regen to 20, would the %mana regen item boost my regen to 27.0 MPS or would it be boosted to 23.5 MPS?
I havent been succesful yet with Vista and Gameranger. I typically get a black screen when the game is launched and it just hangs. I can play in custom games / skirmish games fine now, though.
The favor issue is confusing. I played a custom game last night after everything was fixed and I didn't have any favor items but I did have about 250 favor points to buy stuff with. I then played a second custom game immediately after and my favor was at 0. So between those two custom games, something drained my favor!
I don't really want to buy Demigod off of ebay, I'd rather give the money directly to the developer. So I'm just asking out of curiosities sake. If someone already registered the serial number under one email address, does that mean if someone were to buy it off of ebay they couldn't register the game to another email address? Or could they? How would this work...
I have purchased several games off eBay and ha
Someone clue me in here. I don't mind that he calls someone an idiot, but I don't see why he is an idiot for suggesting that GPGNET was better than Impulse. From the customer end of things, GPGNET worked much better. I never had connection issues getting into a game and the matching was quick and responsive. Here of course we are looking at 8 people getting into a matching game, so there is a difference. The only downside to me of GPGNET was the patching. N
Well before, most of the players were AI so the chance of a bad connection as say 25% if there was only one other person. Now you are connecting to 5 players so the chance of a bad connection is close to 80%. I also cannot get a Partheon game running, but I couldn't do that before the patch anyway. Custom games and skirmish games work fine. Partheon, have only played 1 game in about 5 hours of trying.
Pantheon games are still horribly broken for me. Never launches into the game. The custom games appear to work a bit better. I did get several "fail to connect to" messages, but those were easy enough to cancel out of and find another custom game to join.

I haven't purchased a single favor item in MP but I have 4 of them unlocked. The same 4 I did purchase in SP. They just became available when I had enough points in MP.
Sedna suffers from a similar bug. She won't heal! You have to move her to "unbug" her to get her to heal again. Very annoying when you rush up to someone to heal them and it doesn't fire.
