Randomizing the creeps could be bad, since then the game could be too much luck if you happen to have the Demigod that is best in that particular situation. It could work though.Options to make things random are usually good.
Which is sort of the point.. Presumably some demigods will have some minor RPS against each other. Like one demigod might have a slight advantage in a 1vs1 fight against another type, and disadvantages against others. The random creeps could

Tyo, we haven't seen you in IRC yet I don't think ;o Not that we want to distract you from working.. you can come on when you're at home. xD
Good to see he mentioned about that you will be able to try and hide and gank people.. Taht was one think important to me. IT is sad he's not still with em. I sure hope for a king of the hill at launch though :P
I'd recommend 4gb of ram since ram is cheap as hell.. I just got 2gb of DDR2 800 for my little cousin for $20.
I was convinced before the Trailer. But since hte trailer.. I'm giddy. The animations are better than any I've seen in a fantasy-themed game. I've seen better ones in ones based on real life/modern, but barely so, and without the neat stuff you can do in fantasy. Animators are obviously underappreciated as it seems dev teams just hire them at random or hire the one that'll work for cheapest. It's so rare to see such amazing animations. Pretty nice particl
ACk I wish i had jumped in sooner. But I whole-heartiedly agree. This is a large part of what made Diablo2 fun and very replayable, for starters! However I DONT agree with random maps. I like the premade ones. Randomness adds A LOT more replay value to things. What if each game the amount of units traveling on each lane where in different amounts, and different types? If they where all minotaurs, all the same amount every time.. Well then someone could
for reference.. Supcoms: 1.8 GHz processor 512 MB RAM; 128MB video RAM with DirectX 9 Vertex Shader/Pixel Shader 2.0 support 8 GB free HD space But in reality you needed more like at least a 2gb dual core processor. I'd expect Demigods video requirements to be about the same, but the CPU requirements far lower without craptons of physics calculations going on
Can't there be an option to turn blood on in the games options? And it just be off by default..
An AoS in general reference, maybe. Like making one of the better items or skills initials AoS. But some reference to DotA.. na. DotA is just used as an example for AoS as it's the most popular AoS type game.
There were sins of a solar empire t-shirts..
I want Dawn of War style kill-animations... Like I want to see the rook grab a catapultasaurus by the tail and slam it into the ground or throw it hundreds of feet away. That would be Epic. That's really all I care about visually.
One of the biggest problems was making that stupid single player campaign that took an extra YEAR. If it was released a year earlier, PC only with a server browser and UI half as good as UT2004's then it would of sold better than it has on PC, PS3, and Xbox360 combined.
Yes I fully agree that in the DemiGod context and our modern context, assassin implies targeting single persons. That is why the Assassins in Demigod should be focused on killing individuals, namely the other Demigods (opposing players). Even the rook who should be able to lay waste to the peons, should be ultimately pointed at destroying the other players. True, generals have the same focus, but they do so with an entire army whereas an assassin does by himself. I think champions is
I like the color, I just don't like the cartoony Warcraft style. Demigod is just as Colorful as Diablo2 is. Looks way better. Theres plenty of colorful games that don't look like cartoons.
You realize Diablo 3 isn't even out yet? I doubt D3 will look exactly the same as that single field we saw in one gameplay trailer. Sorry about that. I just don't like when people act...well...dumb, frankly. No offense to the man originally posting this (whose name I can't see because the quote code thang doesn't say)
You realize Demigod isn't even out yet, and has a way way better art style? All we've seen of Demigod is one gameplay trailer.
Oh my god.. The animations are SOOO amazing. The best I can recall in any fantasy game. And holy crap, when the Rook smashes the guy with his hammer, is he actually getting smooshed?! Wow I'm way more excited. I didn't think everything would look so good. The lighting is amazinggg. And I loveeeee the colors. (The type of colorful I wish Diablo3 had, not that Warcraft cartoony crap :() Really amazing particles too. The polish is.. better than Blizzards! <br
I'm just the opposite... I hate multiplayer games, I detest them, and I despise them specifically when you're not allowed to enjoy the full content or available items unless you play multi-player, and there's been a whole slew of games to do just that. Two recent examples are Stranger and World Shift. The game play sounded like a great deal of fun, but the developers explicitly stated that you could play single player, but unless you were playing multi-player, you'd miss out on the majo
Oh if it's NOT used in ranked play that sounds fine. The post was confusing to me and i read it the other way around. If it was what was used in ranked play that'd be a problem except that it could split up the community.. Sounds like it could be either great or "okay" then. But i'd think of it as being a waste of time detracting from other things that could make the gameplay better, instead of adding all sorts of progression things :p So I guess like Infinity Online or R
What?.. I don't get really get this: "What is also cool is that outside these individual skirmishes these Demigods grow in power. This has some very important ramifications. Besides making the single player experience much more interesting, it introduces a much better on-line experience. Let me put it like this: Demigod is aiming to solve some of the most basic problems in on-line gaming: Because your Demigod gets better in a persistent universe, experienced players have an in
Most of these dev journeys are so nice :D
Yay :D
So, basically, there is no one in this discussion who believes that digital rights should be defended? In fact, everyone here praises Stardock because they just let pirates steal from them if they want? I am confirmed in my initial belief that you are ALL pirates. I have not heard an opinion from anyone who I would assume has not and will not steal ideas. It is also interesting to have it confirmed that America's internet infrastructure is infinitely superior to the barbarian countries. What you don't understand is that a lot of record companies died NOT because of piracy, but because they used DRM. It didn't work for the record industry, they're getting rid of it now (except sony i believe). DRM hurt it so bad. And now the games publishing industry outside of Stardock is just now starting to learn this. A lot of consumers don't like to buy an axe and it says. "You may only use this axe to drop down trees. You may not let a friend borrow this axe. You may not
