Actually, the last graph ("players in games") on this site... http://dgstats.insidesupcom.de ...illustrates the decline. This is a more telling stat than online players. Stick a fork in it, it's done.
I just noticed this (must have been far down the articles list when I posted earlier)... http://forums.demigodthegame.com/360013 ...and would very much like to know what falls under "various bug fixes". I noticed PAX starts in about two weeks, so what's the status of v1.2? Has the content changed? Is it on schedule?
WHAT you are comparing some game made by an almost indie developer to WOW and Starcraft, off course they sell more...
Actually when Blizzard released Starcraft and Warcraft (not WoW), over 10 years ago now, they were still relatively independent too. Those games were extremely polished on release, which is why Blizzard has such a great reputation for quality to this day. I singled them out only to illustrate my point
Here's what I was thinking when I made the original post... Demigod, being multiplayer, requires a critical mass of players to be viable and justify ongoing support and content generation. To acheive and sustain that critical mass requires ongoing sales, just like an MMO. The sales figures I referenced were from NPD, and you'll find old chestnuts like Starcraft and Warcraft Battlechests still ranked in the top 20 after all these years. When Demigod drops off the NPD
Demigod debuted at #3 in PC game sales for the month of April. It dropped to #12 in the month of May. It dropped out of the top 20 in the month of June. July figures are pending, and maybe the release of the demo gave sales a pop. Patches have been excrutiatingly slow to come, and have left many issues unresolved. Is this game just dying a slow death?
The crucible and exile maps are ideal for comebacks. Don't ever concede these even when you are pushed back to your citadel. Feed, heal repeat, and you may outstrip the other team in levels and gold, and be able to push them back.
Any chance you could provide the community with the near-term road-map of planned fixes and features? I'm not asking for dates or commitments, just the current view of work on hand and how it has been prioritized. I went th

Look woca, in almost every custom game I've played, if two or more players choose the same demigod, they're asked to change or leave. In looking at the custom games of several other players, I also found very few cases of duplicates on the same team. I don't know how you can say it was anything other than intentional since players choose the team composition. Regardless of whether I think duplicates are bad, or you think they're just fine, empirically there's sufficient evidence
what stats do you have showing a GOOD PERCENTAGE want this? you made a post, and the op, and xavier so if I get three people to say QoT is op, she should get a nerf?
Sure... Take a look at the multiplayer history of a random selection of players and see how often you find a custom game with duplicates on the same team. The data is there if you would like to compute the actual values, but I'm very confident in my assertion th
So when people say duplicatess are unfair, it doesn't make sense.
Rather than debate whether duplicates are fair or not, let's just acknowledge that a good percentage of the community doesn't want them on the same team and request the game provide an option to prevent it when there's randomization of demigods/teams.
Good fixes here. My only suggestion (which would be in the 1.2 thread if it wasn't locked) would be to increase the visibility of Demigods. Rook typically blocks my view of smaller Demigods when in a large melee. If there was a way that Demigods were more highlighted or perhaps had an overhead nametag that could be toggled, I think this would be very helpful in those large melees when it's easy to "miss" the smaller Demigo
again, the problem is not duplicates, jeez, it's the counter classes, which is not a problem, you are complainging about demigods that can counter other ones, nothing is wrong with this cause in a custom game you can see the other teams so you dont get wrecked
No, I'm not complaining about one demigod countering another and I'm not sure how you got that idea since it's exactly what should happen when composing teams (i.e, the rock/pape
uh, again, duplicates don't make the game unbalanced, two rooks would suck against a ub and a reg imo, so clearly the duplicates aren't the problem.
This is a contradictory statement, because you say duplicates don't create imbalance and then say a team of two rooks (i.e., duplicates) is weaker than a team with a ub and reg. Note that I never said duplicates are always stronger, they can be weaker as well, and hence should just be

Some demigods *are* stronger/weaker than others, mainly depending on the stage of the game. It's a rock/paper/scissors kind of thing, and the randomizer should avoid putting duplicates on the same team in order to try and keep the t
nothing is wrong with duplicate demigods two beasts spitting is the same as a regulus using mines and a rook hammer slamming
Most would argue it can be unbalanced (too strong or too weak, depending on the mix of demigods), and how often do you see it in custom games today?
It would be great to have a team randomizer __option__ in custom games for those of us that want tweaked games but also want to avoid premade teams. I get suspicious anytime I enter the lobby where one team is full and I'm the first to join the opposing team. I'm starting to recognize names, but an optional team randomizer capability would make it unecessary. The randomizer should be intelligent enough to not put duplicate demigods on the same team (something it doesn't do
