I'm already playing other games. That is to say, I've never been the kind of person to dedicate myself to that "one game" that I play ad nauseam until I burn out on it and/or become the best in the world. Demigod is a really fun game, but it's certainly not enough to satisfy all of someone's gaming needs alone. I've never found any game that is, really. I'm still having a blast playing, when the game works. I wish I could play more, actually.

And what exactly were you doing for nearly a minute and a half while Rook was apparently wandering around in front of your base, gradually amassing eight towers? Not only do Rook's tower farms take a lot of time to set up, but the things crumble on their own over time, meaning it requires constant effort to maintain. I don't see how people call this overpowered.
I'd also like to give a shout-out to the cheapest item in the game, the Totem of Revelation. The +5 vision bonus is passive - you get it just for having one in your inventory, and it can easily open up a whole new set of strategies. Buy one unless you're playing without Fog.
The Totem of Revelation is so underutilized it's crazy. The things are so cheap and so useful. They last for a very long time and

Everyone I've played with in custom games also has it. Personally, if they can't fix the problem (and it's pretty clear they are really struggling with it), I prefer it to stay like this rather than defaulting to zero all the time. Favor items are a pretty big part of the game and at least like this, everyone gets to pic
Eh, I find hybrids to be among the most effective TBs. Problem is that the form dancing can be kinda tricky and most people don't play to the hybrid strengths. A straight up Ice + Fireball build is murder, but I've seen more evenly split Fire/Ice builds be really effective. And Circle of Fire is far from useless. For some reason, people have it in their heads that they should use it offensively, like "Hey there Unclean Beast, I'm gonna run up to you and make a fire circle... oh, I'm d
After you guys are done fighting bees and taking a weekend off, please implement this.
Whatever problem you have is shared by me and a smaller group of people around, right down to the only at 6+ players bit. I can save you some trouble and tell you that I did everything within my power to solve the problem, including disabling and uninstalling, clean installs, direct modem-PC connection with everything disabled, etc., and nothing effected it at all. So basically it's either your/our ISPs or some obscure problem with Demigods netcode.
Why the heck would an item that costs more than all of the upgrades from Priests to Giants not change the tide of a battle? If someone on the other team amassed 18,000 gold, you either already lost the game or you should have enough to counter them with an artifact of your own.
Sounds like a typical over competitive, over compensating douchebag. These people only get along with others like them. They don't mesh with sane, normal people. It's best to try to root them out in the chat and leave the game before it even starts.
What a weird thing to complain about. If Regulus is using his range to attack your towers, chase him off. If he has "backup", congratulations, you're playing against people using teamwork to destroy your towers. Use your team to counter them. Every single demigod in the game has ways to destroy, freeze, bypass and null towers. Regulus plinking away at them is hardly an issue.
Ok . The only thing I could suggest here is to temporarely uninstall the antivirus completely, just to rule it out (even if deactivated, the antivirus might have done something "bad" to the network stack). Do you have any other software installed, that might have some influence on networking? Netlimiter or any Software from your cable ISP.
Funny, doing a complete uninstall of my anti-virus was one of the last things
I have the same problem and I use a cable connection with over 2Mb/s uploads on average. People have reported this problem across a wide range of ISPs and variables.
Well the obvious answer is that yes, there are more than three custom games going on - the list only shows games which aren't full or started. However, there is also a problem with games not showing up properly in the lobby even when there are open slots. The display is kind of wonky in general. Also, if you downloaded the beta patch, you're only seeing games hosted by other people with the patch, which is a tiny minority of the Demigod community.
A nine minute video of a twentysomething complaining about his inability to properly connect to a videogame. I swear, the Entitlement Generation is going to run this planet into the ground.
You won't find a solution to it on your end, its purely Stardock at fault and it will require them to fix it. Just going to have to hold your hats and pray they fix it quickly.
That's not looking likely though, considering only a handful of people have this problem opposed to the huge percentage of the playerbase that can't even connect to a game. I'm usually the last person to point a finger at the game, but I think I've r

The side that gets the immediate early advantage will win the game unless they make some disastrous mistakes. Many people are busy and simply don't have the time to wait 15-20 minutes for an in
Same exact problem I have. See this thread: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/349642 Among a few others. No clue how to solve this one. First time I've actually been "defeated" by a game networking problem.

In fact, my router/firewall settings seem to have nothing to do wi
Yep, I'm still having this problem, although it's progressed to the point that the spikes are near constant. I'm using a wired connection on Vista Home Premium 64. The problem still exists even if I connect directly to my modem with absolutely every form of firewall, anti-virus or background tasks disabled.
It's definitely me. From my end, my ping to everyone spikes up, but to everyone else, it's just my ping spiking. When I leave the game, the stuttering stops. I really don't understand it because I've gone to some pretty funny lengths trying to solve the problem, including running through DMZ, connecting my PC directly to my modem and essentially disabling any conceivable program or service that could interfere. My settings appear to have basically no effect on the game at all. One time, I eve
More and more, that's what I'm leaning to. My ISP is Comcast, however - a very common ISP, especially on the east coast. I figured if I have this problem, then surely a bunch of other people must too, if Comcast is at fault. However, that just doesn't seem to be the case. Also, I can run to
The new patch is working fine, connection wise. I connect to other players in a matter of seconds, can easily get into a lobby and start a game. Of course, I could mostly do that before the patch. However, I still get massive lag spikes that makes the game unplayable. The more players there are, the more frequent. My ping spikes up to 250-350 as frequently as every second as soon as the game starts. Prior, there are no connection issues whatsoever. I have no idea what's causing this a
I always play with High Towers and Slow Flag Capture. I don't agree with the Grunts at all though, especially setting them on High and the waves on fast. Grunts are never an actual danger to Demigods, no matter how strong you make them or how many there are. Even by the time you get giants, the DGs are so powerful they are ineffective. All numerous, stronger grunts mean is massive AoE farming, potentially throwing the game way out of whack. If anything it seems like the grunt
OK, I enabled all of the logging information on my router and cleared the log. Then I played a game of Demigod, which was spike-tastic as usual. Quit out of the game and checked my log, this is what I get: "Drop ICMP packet from WAN Source:xx.xxx.xxx.x:3 Destination:My IP:3 Rule: default deny" These come up literally every 2-4 seconds for the entire duration I was playing and stop at the exact time I quit the game. The source IP varies. Now I k
