In the event Alice can’t connect directly to Sally but could to Bill and John, our system will route the traffic through Bill and John based on who has the best ping.
Wouldn't this make the game even more laggy then before? If i understand, Alice will play through Bill's connection, so Bill will have a much higher ping then before, and because this is a p2p game, he will make the game more laggy for everybody, in that game...
They are too expensive and are bugged: many times i saw them do nothing, got trapped in a movement loop or just flying around, not attacking anyone. Also Finger of God? WHAT THE F?! It costs a ton and it barely does anything to the enemy.
Also i think that Demigod needs to have a replay system , so you can view matches from every player's view, fast farward, see what items players got, etc. This imo needs to be done before the Clan Wars thing. Every competitive game out there has a replay system...Auto-matching too. Not to mention needed UI tweaks, more informative ability and units descriptions (type of dmg, how much dmg -> for example rook's towers), etc....Oh boy, there is much to be done with Demigod in
Any news on replays? Thanks Frog
+1
Clan support is nice and all, but if i were you, i'll let it for next year and focus on other things right now, like Jaradakar said very well in post #8. Also, i suspect that only Stardock works on this, right? Because otherwise GPG has better things to do :). Like new demigods, new maps, items, balance stuff, etc... I'm not planning to join any clan in the near future and imo, these things are not needed right now, but after some year or two, when the
I agree with all, let's hope that someone is reading this...
Please fix that attack/ability/stuck demigod bug, that it's still in the latest beta patch. This is what i would call a critical gameplay bug. I'm surprised that Frogboy didn't know about it and thought it's fixed in the beta, as they are numerous posts and threads saying that it's not fixed. I don't want to be rude, but is Frogboy the only one who is keeping an eye on this forums and transmits all the forum feedback to GPG?
I don't know if the below are "critically missing features", but they are helpful for sure and easy to fix/add: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/351515 http://forums.demigodthegame.com/349647
Protocept, what did you do differently, change ISP, upgrade your existing plan?
Good question. Protocept, what's your current net speed?
Is there anything i could tell to the ISP? Could a network savy person tell us in more detail what's going on here? Let's take this case: -theoretical enough bandwidth for DG -no wireless, no router, direct connection to modem -no software interaction (AV, firewall, etc) - good PC (well within req specs) So the only one left is the ISP. Now, let's say this ISP doesn't throttle p2p traffic (torrents work as well as positive readings from <a title
Use this: http://www.bwmonitor.com/ I've tested it in a 4v4 match, lagging the game with spikes over 1000, and the bandwidth monitor showed only an usage of 17-20 KB/s upload, and that's well in my limit. In a 2v2 game i have an usage of 2-4 KB/s, so it does scale, but i have the bandwidth for it (my maximum upload rate is ~100 KB/s).
Do you have any other newer P2P games that you can test with on a 4vs4 or 5vs5?
No, i think not. I only know about Company of heroes and DoW 2, that have p2p, and i don't have any of them. Anyway, my ISP doesn't throttle p2p connections, as my torrents work fine, as i've said before. I've tried everything, don't know what else i could do...
So when I hear people say that you can't change the "internets" as if Brad's efforts are fruitless, I immediately disagree. The truth is you can change the community which you lead on a micro level without too much effort. Brad is not looking to change the world, he is only asking that the local community here which operates on the forum which he owns behaves in a respectful manner towards others. That is
My PC isn't a problem (my sim speed is always >4): 8800GT, E6400 Core2, 4 GB ram, Vista x64, playing in 1360x768 (on a HD TV). I've posted my netspeed tests, and pls note that the closest srver was at 1000 miles away, and still had 44 ping. Also, i've tried today a test, playing some games with BandwidthMonitor in use, so i can see my upload and download in real time. In some 2v2 game (which worked fine), my upload was at 2-4 KB. In a 4v4 game (in which i've had huge spikes, like u
Anyone can tell me what's the difference between how Gameranger works and how Stardock mp works in Demigod? I'm curious about this...Some people can play on GR without a problem, but can't play with the built-in demigod mp.
Frogboy , you're trying to educate the internets, and that's not possible. As someone already said, Blizzard's games have them, Valve's games have them, HALO game has them...When a game is popular and accessible, you are gonna get more people like that. Sins and GalCiv game are niche games, they don't have the same type of gameplay that spawn bursts of rage among people. You can't avoid the DOTA type of people, i've told you in another thread. You already have a lot of
I could talk to my ISP, but i really, really don't know how to tell them so they understand what's my problem. I can't blame them though, as i'm happy with my net connection because everything works. Just not Demigod.
I don't think it's related to packet sniffing, at least not on the user side. I have the exact problem and i've tested the game under a fresh Windows 7 (just drivers and Demigod), and it spikes just the same as before. Did you tried the latest beta patch? If the next patch doesn't help, i think we will be in that 10% (or 5%, whatever) of users that can not play the game at all and nobody cares about. :)
Has anyone having this sort of troubles have tried the latest beta patch?
That said, a lot of the problem I've seen when I have played 4 on 4 or 5 on 5 is people with anti-virus programs that do packet sniffing. The more pckets, the more it gets aggravated and what's worse, it doesn't necessarily affect "ping" times it just makes the game stutter.
In my case, i've tested in a clean Win 7 OS, just drivers and Demigod, and it still spikes in >4v4 games. So it's not a software problem. I also don't

For example TB can lvl up very fast by killing creeps and as he lvls up, he gets more powerful (dps), without having to buy expensive items. Not the same case for Regulus, he needs items. Different builds excel differently. With a mine regulus or a angelic fury regulus, I can level faster than the avg. TB.
I ne
Do i smell some DG eletism around here? You know that this is how DOTA eletism started, right? Anyway, it's inevitable, but i'm just saying...
after the other killed u twice and u didnt kill him u might as well stop the game because your never gonna win anyway, and this is exactly what everyone does online,
I sorta agree with this one. If you get killed twice, the other dg makes tons of money and buys himself more items and kills you again and again. The solution is to give players more gold for killing creeps, not just exp, in order to allow losing players to farm some money for
