I think the main issue has already been hammered home. Connectivity. Trying to play this game in any normal internet environment instead of a lan was such a painful experience. I actually disagree on the "we have enough" demigods. People need variety to stay interested; it is no small fact that the other games of a similar genre continuously output new heroes. Even if you had 2-3 viable trees for each hero (didn't quite get there with DG1) people wou

Please, PLEASE don't turn this into another of the internet's billion "how many FPS can your eyes discern" topic.... So many disagreements, SO much misinformation... On topic: That's a sweet card, my GTX285 still does me proud, but I'm interested in what the next gen can grind out for sure.
My view? They've picked snipets they want to show and some of them are obviously really stretching the context. It's tripe, and typical of the shockingly backward and bigoted mentality that seems to flourish in central USA. It isn't worth the time to watch. My other view? Synnworld, if you were even remotely attempting to maturity-1-up raistlin, you failed miserably. Without using as harsh language, you are just as needlessly antagonistic in othe
I honestly dont know why heavenlysynn is still in here....You don't think it would be fun? Fantastic, leave this guy alone to do/ask for what he feels like? I'd love to try a few ridiculous things myself, if I had the time/knowledge to make this sort of thing I'd have been happy to help. At the very least, I'd love to see a mod that makes form switching instant, I think that may be even easier than trying to fit all the active abilities in such a small bar.
Yes Hooded.... TOO deadly imo. I actually got bored of playing him with my friends, as whoever got maxed spine and warp strike started to steamroll the rest of the players. It changed from "sweet, my turn at DA" to "sigh.... here we go again".
I don't think it needs to be changed. I have used it for its invincibility as often as I have for its damage and that sort of mixed utility is what makes it fine as it is. DA is already strong enough (imo too strong) at what he does (nuking down players OR towers), he doesn't need to be any stronger at taking out creatures also.
It may not have been occulus specific, often in games I find HP bars do not appear over some demigods. Sometimes its like way way higher than it's supposed to be, but more often than not just completely non-existent.
Nobody else has had this issue? It didn't happen the first time I played, it happened the second. Hasn't happened again since restoring previous file versions.
Not much else to add. As per the title all of my single player profile achievements and favor points have been taken back to 0... Edit: Restoring previous version on game.prefs and tournament saves seems to have restored things to how they were though I now don't know if either of these files will cause issues with 1.2.
Whoops, missed morpheas's post. I see both flags in single player also, AND in multiplayer over a LAN. Guess I can't rule out pantheon but one would assume it works there not also, unless the single and multiplayers were always fine...
It appears you can't random the new DG's yourself anymore :( Either they fixed that bug before releasing this to public or I'm exceptionally unlucky.
Are you simply refering to Demon Assassin and Oculus? You can't unlock them until they are properly released for public use.
I agree with the comment that it would look weird if demigods were moving in the air because the surface under them was too 3d. This map looks great and I love the theme, but perhaps consider keeping that flat surface in that you included in the last picture, and just using a tileset that you've edited to sandy colors to look like a sandstone paved beach theme etc...
Downloading now :D Awesomesauce!
More maps would be great, if my 3d skills weren't so purely product-based I'd probably have given a go at a naturey/floating island type map. Similar to the one the scotish alien has tossed around (and has been on the GPG forum also). Having said that, I'd still probably want more demigods first. To be pretty frank, I wouldn't pay more than $5 for a pair, but I may pay, yes. As has been pointed out though, the only way to really grow a community is not to seg
[e digicons][/e] Over the moon that the new favor items were removed!
Agree with OP 100% It doesn't take too long for anyone to purchase the items they actually use, and then simply accrue points to no effect from that point forward. All intent aside, there will never be an item influx strong enough to stem the flow of favor. As for the favor awards at the end of each match. I actually dislike them somewhat, the formula is antiquated. Example one; my last LAN game with friends, I took 190 points to my team mates 80or90 I think
Thanks for the estimate! I check here a few times a day incase it's been released heh. Guess I'll ease off until wednesday then. Looking forward to it! On another note, I don't know why people keep feeding the trolls over and over. It's usually the same people defending the game and whilst the intent is honorable don't get me wrong, it just keeps the negative issues rolling again, and again, and again...
As has already been said, these new favor items are just more of the same, and a bad direction to head in as it even further limits what will eventually be used in the pool. What is the point then? I'd rather see all the remaining favor items buffed/altered to the point where we may see them in circulation a bit more, wasn't this the initial point of the favor items? To add variety to gameplay and differentiate same-dg clashes perhaps a little? Please reconsider th
Well, I really really didn't want to enter this thread >. B-DalzK its a very very daunting learning curve getting up to date on the items and heroes in dota/hon, I completely agree. I held of learning them well after my friends tried to get me to give it a go. However, the balance is surprisingly good considering it is just a dota clone (openly, and with frogboy'
Well thanks for clearing that up for me, I was interested in knowing if that was indeed the case or not!
Blaming an entire communities connections is a poor excuse though. The games engine can handle as many players as it wants on paper but if it doesn't work in reality it doesn't mean crap. This is very much the case with 5v5 in this game and whilst I can't draw figures 4v4 apparently too, that can't be argued. Yeah they aren't going to bring out a patch that magically fixes this, but I'd say this should have never been an issue regardless. Yep hindsight is 20/2
I don't have problems sustaining connections don't think the OP mentioned any either, I agree it's stable in that regard. But.. can't say I've noticed any real cheating or hax issues with DoTA, and not sure p2p is necessary to keep a system completely free of it either. This game can't handle 5v5 and for many people barely 4v4 whereas the others do flawlessly, an extension of one persons connection being able to decimate the gameplay for everybody else. This is the
Not everyone has been in touch with this forum as comprehensively as you ZehDon. It isn't the first game no, but HoN and LoL both have it and yes, its a pertinent comparison. If connection system is to blame I'd go so far as to say that by comparison this points out an inferiority, combined with the simspeed based game lag.
Agree strongly on the reconnection thing. It's the sort of feature that makes sense to add in any game of this genre where unintentional dc's can be such a painful issue to deal with. Don't really know why it wasn't included. As for other suggestions, they're coming with time. This game isn't for the impatient, I play it still with my friends who've bought it on my recommendation, but I'm slowly seeing myself play HoN more also... Looking forward to seeing some of th
